To say that things were tense between Cyber Widow and the reporters who had just arrived on the scene would be putting it lightly. It was bad enough when Theresia was well known as one of the most dangerous heavyweights in the womens' wrestling scene, building up a rightfully feared reign of terror in her prime, and even now proving herself a threat through
how she forced Astrid Ostberg to work hard to hold onto her Heavyweight Championship, only narrowly managing to overcome her. And when Widow was this audibly furious, the prospect of approaching her was an especially tenuous one.
But these two also had their own histories dealing with Widow, and, for better or worse, those previous encounters hadn't imbued them with much confidence for this particular meeting. One of them was veteran wrestling journalist Eiji Matsumoto, who
had met with both Widow and Astrid in the leadup to their title match, and had seen her fury firsthand - and, later, had earned Widow's ire through a few comments on social media that had garnered him some threats from the veteran, threats he had no intention on testing any time soon.
The second one was LAW Magazine's anonymous writer and intern Haruka Seizawa, better known as S-chan, whose relationship with Widow was more cordial, if no less explosive - she had previously
spoken to Widow for a firsthand look at her infamous Frankensteiner, which led to her taking one herself and ending up with a neck brace for her troubles. While she didn't think she was on Widow's bad side, she knew how hard she could hit if things went south - and, as the two of them arrived on the scene to find Widow angrily pounding at the punching bag in an otherwise empty gym, screaming in rage all the while, they realized that was something with a very real chance of happening.
They had been called out to get Widow's thoughts on her loss in her challenge for the Heavyweight Title, but now they were growing worried that they might end up as Theresia's next punching bags.
The two of them stopped, looking back at each other as they pondered where to go next. Not saying a word so as to not alert Widow, they communicated through glances and nods to one another, figuring they could understand well enough about what they meant by them. They were just about to back away, figuring they could slip out unnoticed with Widow distracted, when Theresia turned back to face them, and both went still.
For a moment, things went quiet. Neither knew how to respond. Eiji, in particular, stared back at Widow, tense with the worry that anything he said could lead to her snapping his spine. It was Haruka, however, who broke the silence.
"Yes, ah...good afternoon, Ms. Neidermeyer," she began softly.
"Is...this a bad time, by any chance? We just wanted to discuss, well, your last match..."
