Sheila Chihara vs. Ivy Crawford [D] - Beach Match

Sheila tried her best to hold Ivy down, her arms clamped shut around her sides as she bore the pressure against her waist and shook her back and forth. She had more strength than she perhaps knew what to do with, and she was too stubborn to let up any time soon - but Ivy had still managed to get her arms out enough to push back on Sheila's own, and little by little she managed to wrench herself free. Soon, Sheila took a step back, letting Ivy go.

Even after she let her foe down, Sheila's bright expression and enthusiastic demeanor didn't change. She was just as ready to fight on as she was at the beginning of this match! With an eager grin on her face, she lowered herself into a stance. Sheila drew closer to Ivy, prepared to lock up with her again...

But unfortunately for Sheila, a lockup wasn't what her foe had in mind. Instead, as soon as she was in range, Ivy lashed out with a forearm that struck her in the face! With a yelp, Sheila dropped down into a seated position, clutching at her face to try and dull the pain. But she was only in such a place for another brief moment before something else came to her attention - the fact that Ivy had circled behind her, and now was throwing her arms around Sheila's throat to hold down a sleeperhold!

"Gah-! Hey, let go-!" Coughing and sputtering, Sheila twisted and turned, her head and body turning from side to side. She kicked her legs frantically in the air, while she reached up to grab at Ivy's arm, tugging at it in an attempt to pry it off her neck.

Ivy was doubly impressed at her opponent's tenacity, this girl wasn't going to go out quietly, that was for certain, but, the thing was, Ivy was just as determined, That's Alabama toughness for you. Ivy continued to try and get her opponent to sleep, but, Sheila was just as determined to continue fighting, as she began to slowly and surely pry herself loose, and, sure enough, pried herself free. Ivy stood up and placed her hands on her hips, "I do believe we are at a stalemate..." Ivy reluctantly admitted. Whoever won this match, earned it...

Sheila could tell that Ivy was using whatever she could to try and whittle away at her opponent's stamina. With the sleeperhold in place, she held tight to her throat, wringing even more air out of her lungs even when Sheila had just been on the wrong end of a bear hug. Her eyelids fluttered and her body felt heavy, and she slipped in and out of a daze, the world around her spinning in circles. But if Sheila knew one thing, it was that she couldn't give in. She wouldn't go down easy. She had to keep fighting - even if she would now be fighting against her own body and the urge to pass out, Sheila would fight to make sure she'd last as long as she could!

Groaning and hissing, the Australian girl worked at Ivy's arm, yanking at her wrist and forearm. Each tug brought with it a little more air into her lungs, until finally, Sheila got free of Ivy's grasp.

As soon as the arm was off her throat, Sheila fell to her knees. She gasped and groaned as she tried to get the air back into her system, her head hanging low to the ground. But as long as she could still breathe, she could still wrestle! That was one thing Sheila was holding onto, as she shoved herself quickly back to her feet. The match was beginning to take a toll on her, and it showed, even as she faced her opponent from across the ring. She wavered in place, taking hard and heavy breaths, and her face was red and slick with sweat. But she was still on her feet, and that was all that mattered!

Raising her fists, Sheila got into a stance as she looked back at Ivy. "I dunno what that means," she admitted. "But I'm still gonna do my best!"

Once again, Sheila took off toward Ivy, charging at her from across the ring. She lifted her arm for a clothesline, but fatigue still weighed her down, and her motions were stiffer and slower than they normally would be.

Ivy raised an eyebrow, "You...don't know what 'stalemate' is? It means a tie, a draw, a standstill..." Whatever respect Ivy had for her opponent was cut in half for having to explain what a 'stalemate was. Ivy could tell that Sheila was about out of gas, so she figured now would be a good time as any to try and finish her opponent off. Sheila charged with a slow, stiff clothesline, in which Ivy easily dunked under. She would then grab Sheila's neck and attempt her finisher, a cutter named, what else: War Eagle.

Sheila wouldn't give Ivy the time to finish her explanation. After all, the match was still on, and any moment was still a moment she could secure victory. Besides, she was here to wrestle, not to learn English lessons. If she wanted that, she wouldn't be here! Her arm held up, she barreled toward Ivy, setting her opponent in her sights. In Sheila's mind, she was making a swift charge, running like the wind as she threw her body into motion and readied a strike that was surely too fast for Ivy to even see coming!

...though she would be disappointed with the results. Despite what Sheila might have wanted to believe, she had been through a grueling match, and she'd fought her hardest, powering through punishing holds that threatened to wring the life out of her. While the Australian might have escaped, it wasn't without expending her stamina in the process, and now, when she ran Ivy down, it was with a slow and staggered gait, one that it was easy for her foe to prepare for. As Ivy ducked under her arm, Sheila let out a gasp as she passed her, her eyes going wide. In the world of her little power trip, Ivy had done the impossible!

Sheila was still in shock as she hit the ropes behind Ivy and came bouncing back - leaving her right in her path, as the beach wrestler grabbed her by the head. Sheila's feet kicked off the ground as Ivy threw herself forward, and she came flying face-first into the canvas! She cried out as she sailed through the air, only to land with a thud that shook the mat. Now, she lay flat on her face, groaning under her breath and in a daze.

Ivy smiled, even though her opponent showed more heart then anyone Ivy had faced before, she knew the time had come to end this match. When Sheila hit the mat with a thud with her cutter. Ivy crawled over to where the exausted Autrailian lie, and hooked the leg and called the referee for a pin

"ONE...
TWO..."

Sheila had fought on as hard as she could, desperate to last out Ivy's attacks. Even if she may have hit hard, and forced her to work for her victory, Sheila was dedicated to always pushing her limits, and she was stubborn enough to refuse to give in even when it may have been in her better judgment to do so. But even she couldn't last forever. Her sides were sore from the bear hug, her stamina was running down, and now, as she came bouncing back toward her opponent, she was unable to lessen the force with which she was hurled into the mat!

Sheila's head struck the canvas with a loud smack, and she rolled over onto her side with a groan, staring up at the sky through glassy eyes. She groaned under her breath, sore and stiff, and her chest rose and fell slowly with each shallow pant she could. Ivy soon fell over her to hook her leg, a fact Sheila barely registered. Try as she might, she wasn't capable of breaking the pin - and soon, the third count hit.

"THREE!!"

Cheers rang out over the chime of the bell. It had been a hard-fought match, but Ivy's debut had seen her first victory in LAW!

Ivy's mile grew wide as Mobile Bay when the ref hit the mat for a third time, the ref signaled for the bell, and the match was over. Ivy had won her first match on LAW! This wasn't too different then her beach wrestling days, but, if Sheila was anything to go by, it was going to be a much bigger challenge then in the old federation. Ivy's hand was raised and her music blared over the beach loudspeakers. Ivy went to where Sheila still laid and offered her hand, "You have nothing to be ashamed of. any other day, you probably would've won..."

The crowd rang out in cheers at the sound of the bell, the referee proclaiming Ivy victorious. It had been a close match the whole way through, one where Sheila had fought her hardest, but in the end, her hardest hadn't been enough. Now, she lay on the the mat, still trying to catch her breath. Her muscles felt too sore to move, and she rubbed at her temples, her head still aching from the punishment she'd taken.

Soon, though, Ivy walked over to offer her hand - and Sheila took it, pulling herself back to her feet with a smile. Ivy was still a good sport in winning, recognizing the determination in Sheila and how hard she had pushed herself, and even if she'd lost, the Australian girl still had pride in her efforts - especially hearing her opponent praise them. She nodded to Ivy with a grin. "Yeah! I really worked hard out there...I'm sure I'll learn something from that! So I should be thanking you for your help..."

Still wobbly on her feet, Sheila leaned against Ivy's side, throwing an arm over her shoulders to keep herself up. "Soooo...you wanna hang out while we're here? I think we earned it."

Ivy was half expecting Sheila to stricke her hand away in frustration, after all, she did do some rather questionable things throughout the match. Sheila, surprisingly not only took the hand gladly, but, asked to hang out after the match had concluded! Ivy smiled, "Sure, but you're buying the drinks!" Ivy said with a chuckle. They both left satisfied, a rare thing in this profession...
