The SWAT Cats Announce a Tag Team Open Challenge Series

Both Mara and Toni were in the ring, holding up the title belts that they had ripped from the downed Aurora and Tracy. It was clear that they wanted to have the titles for themselves, and after standing triumphantly over both the masked wrestlers, they would then shift their attentions to their mother, who was currently dealing with Katherine.

As for Dana, she smashed her forearm right at Katherine's upper chest. The force of her strike should be enough to put any lesser woman out of commission. But Katherine was no lesser woman. After taking the hit, she decided to retaliate by first hitting Dana's chest with a discus chop! "UGHHH!!" Dana grunted, feeling the hit. Not enough with that, Katherine proceeded with another strike, this time hitting the matriarch with an European uppercut

"GHHH!!" Dana staggered on her feet, but still remained standing. And then, the masked wrestler decided to cap it off with a superkick, hitting Dana right under her jaw. "GUGHHH!!" It looked like Dana was about to fall down, but after staggering a few steps back, she managed to remain on her feet as she reached out to the nearest barricade, supporting herself and preventing herself from falling down.

Shaking her head, Dana leaned against the barricade. Then, she looked at Katherine before she flashed a smile. Despite her expression indicated that she was in pain, the smile indicated that she was liking what she was seeing (or experiencing) at the moment. "Haa... w-well, you know what? I take back what I said. I think I'm interested in you, after all." She would use the barricade to support herself as she tried to recover.

"But... like I said, we're here for the belts, and that's not changing anytime soon." Dana said, keeping her eyes on Katherine. From the look of it, she looked like she was trying to engage Katherine in a conversation, as if trying to keep her attention away from her daughters, who seemed to be moving away from the downed Aurora and Tracy. They seemed to be planning to sneak behind Katherine in order to ambush her from behind.

Katherine had dug her heels in resolved to make a "last stand" in this sudden ambush! The SWAT Cats had been caught entirely off guard! No one could have imagined that their first encounter with the Ashfords would have ended up this way! Despite knowing that her partners Tracy and Aurora had been completely leveled by the sisters in the ring, The Super Kitty kept at it! She fought in the hopes of making it past Dana to move on Mara and Toni in the ring! Kat had put more than a little extra pepper on those strikes. But just like she was able to power through Dana's forearm smash, Dana was able to remain standing and on her feet after Hart's flurry of offense ending in a massive Superkick! Kat would step back after the kick and catch her breath. In an odd way, she found herself impressed with the Menacing Matriarch of the Ashfords. Just as Dana had found herself impressed with Katherine. As she observed Dana hold herself up by leaning on the barricade, Kat responded to her.

"Yeah, you're every bit as tough as they say. You've caught my eye as well. But if you wanted our belts, you could have come at us straight up! Like wrestlers! Not hitwomen!" Kat gestured defiantly, swiping her arm from left to right in front of her person, denouncing the way The Ashfords chose to go about making a statement to LAW's world tag team champs! The crowd rallied behind The Super Kitty! The noise and clamoring in the arena, in this PPV atmosphere grew louder and louder! And as it did, Mara and Toni began to make their move. Soon the cheers for Hart's efforts transitioned into cries of concern. Kat's back was still turned towards the ring as she continued to focus on The Smiling Demon ahead of her. She'd begin to walk past the announce table with her fist doubled up, ready to throw at Dana! Unbeknownst to Kat, however, her small blurb played right into The Ashford's hands! Mara and Toni had already made their way out of the ring! As Kat went after Dana once more, they moved in to collapse in on her like a swarm of piranhas would when hunting their prey!

In the ring, Tracy and Aurora remained down and splayed out! Their belts stripped from their bodies as they laid stunned and beaten by the blonde duo! The Circus Cat and The Galaxy Cat would eventually look back on this replay with regret and disgust as they were dismantled and out of commission for the time being, and completely unable to provide their heavyweight teammate the help she'd need if she wanted to fend off this rival Freebird team!

Using the barricade to support herself, Dana listened to Katherine's response, and she just chuckled after the masked wrestler was done. "Oh Katherine... I guess that naivety of yours can be your undoing. Sure, we can just follow the due process and challenge you in a normal, boring way. And the match will be nothing but a forgettable event that people will forget the next day." She maintained her smile as she held her arms up. "Isn't that right?"

After a dramatic pause, Dana continued, "I've been in this business longer than you've been alive, girl. I know everything about all tricks in the book, dirty or otherwise. Say all you want about professional wrestling, about proving your mettle and standing triumphantly before your loving fans, but in the end, wrestling is nothing but a game of spectacle, and we are nothing but pieces on the board, serving as nothing but as entertainment for the masses..." She lowered her arms.

"My point is... I'm just doing things that I've been expected to do. I've made a career out of being a villain, and people say that heroes are nothing without villains to oppose them. And people also say that heroes don't always win. And tonight..." She held her hands up, as if ready to clap her hands. "The heroes will lose." She clapped her hands once, signaling to her daughters to attack Katherine from behind her. "Look behind you."

Both Toni and Mara had sneaked themselves to Katherine's back, holding the title belts that they had looted off both Tracy and Aurora. When Dana clapped her hands and told Katherine to look behind her, the sisters would immediately make their move. If Katherine looked behind, both of them would try to hit her with the title belts in their hands at once right in her face, hoping to knock her down with the sneak attack.

Seeing that she was able to get Hart's attention, Dana saw fit to capitalize by imparting some knowledge. Ashford made a spectacle of herself. She stood up and got off the barricade. She brought up her arms and gestures in such a way that was as grandiose as the statements she'd make. Although Kat was still eager to fight, she heard the Matriarch out. As Dana spoke, the dismay and the scowl on Katherine's face deepened. She looked away for a moment. As a fellow pro wrestling veteran, herself, Kat was able to connect with what Dana was saying. Younger, more rash, less experienced wrestlers would have likely spoken out against Dana and say that she's wrong or cowardly. But Kat knew the truth and her countenance showed that it was a tough pill to swallow: almost everything Dana Ashford was saying rang true.

"So that's the role you and your daughters choose to play. Fine, but don't think for one second that any of this means that us 'heroes' are backing down! We'll stick to our guns! We said we'd do an open challenge and we will! With or without your villainy!" Kat would yell, pointing towards Dana while she retorted. But her response was met with yet another gesture. This time a clap. Kat was quick on the uptake with figuring out what that meant. All of a sudden, it dawned on the luchadora, hitting her like a ton of bricks! Mara and Toni had completely demolished Aurora and Tracy in the ring! The last Kat saw, the sisters held the tag belts up high, much to the anger of the crowd. It had only been a minute or so since then. And Kat's struggle against Dana on the outside had captivated the attention of everyone in the arena. It had captivated The Super Kitty long enough for her to realize that Mara and Toni would come to their mother's aid next! And by the time she had realized it, it was already too late!

"Ah crap, don't tell me that...Tch-" Kat turned her head to see the dirty pair rushing at her, LAW Tag belts in hand! The sound of the metal plating smacking The Super Kitty's head would echo out! Kat had turned right as Mara and Toni had run in at her! She'd fall to the arena floor on her back. The heavyweight luchadora held her forehead with both hands! In the ring, Aurora and Tracy were still shaking off the cobwebs. The two of them were still trying to find their way off the canvas. Just like that, The Ashfords had laid out the SWAT Cats! The Ashfords seemed to have gotten the best of the tag team champions! Commentary at ringside would play up the moment! A highlight reel of replays of Mara, Toni, and Dana going to work on Kat, Tracy, and Aurora would play continuously on the giant monitor above the entrance ramp.

Kat would roll over onto her front. Once again, the downed Super Kitty would reach for Dana's ankle. She'd begin to push herself up, slowly placing hands on Dana's thigh and hips as she tried to once again find her way up to a vertical base despite being surrounded by all 3 challengers for the championship!

"Not yet..." The disheveled Kat Hart would pant. "We're champions for a reason....it's not over for us yet...."

It was a masterful stroke from Dana Ashford, pulled with complete perfection. She had both her daughters attacking Katherine from behind using the title belts that they had taken off both Tracy and Aurora. Smashing the metal plates of the belts on Katherine's head, the trio then stood over the fallen form of the masked wrestler, smiles on their faces. The crowd showed their displeasure by booing the hell out of them, filling the arena with heat.

"Hehe... of course you are the champions, we're not denying you that." Dana told Katherine. "But we shouldn't expect everything in our life going according to our plan, should we?" Seeing that Katherine was trying to pull herself up using her body as support, Dana decided to help her up, yanking her up forcefully, getting the masked wrestler back up onto her feet. "Let me teach you one other thing, kitty cat."

Grabbing onto Katherine's body, Dana would drag her towards the nearby announcer's table. Seeing this, her daughters followed suit, clearing the table in preparation for their mother's next move. The veteran would then climb up the announcer's table, pulling Katherine with her before pulling the masked wrestler's head into a front facelock, as if preparing herself to lift her up into a vertical suplex. Using her strength, she would hold her into a vertical position while standing on the table.

Making sure that both Katherine's feet were pointing upwards, Dana would then execute the next stage of the move, in which she would transition the vertical position into a side slam, sending Katherine's body plummeting onto the table. Combined with their weight, the impact should be enough to break the table in half, inflicting massive damage on Katherine's body.

Like any quintessential "hero", Katherine Hart was not one to stay down. Motivated by her desire to be the anchor for her team, her desire to respond to the wishes and support of the fans, her desire to prove herself and her team's credibility and show that the SWAT Cats could carry the LAW tag division. And if they were going to do any of that, Kat would have to start proving herself against The Menacing Matriarch before her!

The Super Kitty looked up. She literally clawed and climbed her way up Dana's legs. Her pained, wincing expression didn't stop the sheer gleam of determination and fire from peering through her eyes towards the viewers, the cameras, and The Ashfords. In the ring, Tracy had pulled herself up to her knees. The Circus Cat leaned over the middle rope. Aurora had rolled over and crawled towards the apron. The two of them were winded from their mauling at the hands of Mara and Toni just moments ago. It was demoralizing, of course. But not as much as the events they were about to witness as they looked through the ropes to see The Ashfords swarming the anchor of their team at ringside!

Kat had earned Dana's attention. What seemed to start out as a calculated, sinister plan of attack to take the belts seemed to escalate into The Ashford's opportunity to make an emphatic statement! Dana pulled Katherine up from her kneeling position, ragdolling the heavyweight luchadora with ease as she pulled Kat from a doubled-over position onto the announcer table! Mara and Toni had cleared the table as Dana womanhandled Kat. Yet another sign that this, too, may have been a part of their underhanded plans before We Are LAW even began! Tensions and reactions all around the arena spiked as Dana pursued The Super Kitty and climbed onto the table after her!

"Urgh..." Katherine would groan as she was once again pulled up, this time into a standing position on the table, trapped in Ashford's Front Facelock. Hart's hands rested on Dana's wide hips as Dana prepared to lift her. And lift her she did! Fans gasped in shock and awe as the veteran villainess hoisted the legendary luchadora upsidedown. Dana's strength was on full display as she held Katherine in Vertical Suplex position while up on that table. She held Kat in the air for several seconds. Dana's experience was evident. She captivated the audience not just with impressive moves and charisma, but with her timing as well. She really let it sink in that her and her daughters were willing to steamroll anyone by any means! Especially for a championship title! Whether it be before or between the bells! And as this reality set in, so did Dana Ashford's famed finishing move! After letting the blood rush to Katherine's head, Dana turned and descended upon Kat, transitioning from Vertical Suplex to a Jackhammer! Or as she and her evil daughters called it, "The Sword of Damocles"!

That "Sword" struck true. And its might could be felt, not only by the Cats, but by every tag team in the division that was chasing after the titles! The thunderous sound of the announce table collapsing underneath Katherine with Dana coming down on top her reverberated off the mics at ringside and throughout the arena! Aurora and Tracy let out cries of concern as they saw Kat get put through the table! There was no doubt that she got the full brunt of the impact whilst Dana cushioned her own fall with The Super Kitty's toned, busty frame beneath her! Kat would lie in the wreckage and debris of the table. Her eyes closed, her body unmoving. The first live PPV appearance from the tag team champions would be forever remembered for The Ashfords successful ambush! The utter dismantling
and dominance orchestrated by Mara, Toni, and Dana would be shown in replays and highlights on the giant monitor in the arena as Dana pulled herself from the debris.

Meanwhile, staff and medics rushed to check in on Kat. Tracy and Aurora would slide under the bottom rope and amble over to their fallen tag partner. The pair called out to Hart. The medics checked her dazed eyes. They talked to her. But there was no reaction from Kat. Not they touched her shoulder. Kat would turn to her side and clutch it in pain before returning to a dazed state. The doctors could be heard discussing the very high likelihood of a shoulder injury as they rushed to get some athletic tape to try and nurse it.

A single referee at ringside came to the timekeeper's table next to the disheveled remains of the announce table. The striped-shirt girl motioned to call off the open challenge and cancel their match for the PPV. When discussion of this reached the ears of the fans and the six wrestlers at ringside, Tracy and Aurora knelt down together with Kat. They talked to each other for not more than ten seconds. The SWAT Cats words were inaudible. But in the end, a pained Kat nodded to them with her eyes closed as she continued to writhe on the floor in pain while holding her shoulder. The Galaxy Cat and The Circus Cat rose to their feet not a moment after.

"3 on 3, right? Those were your stipulations? That's the tag title match you wanted? We didn't get the chance to say this earlier, but we accept." Aurora spoke up in a deathly serious tone, much to the surprise and approval of the fans. She clenched her fist as she eyed Mara, who had taken her out earlier in the ring.

"Right here, right now on this pay-per-view! We came in the tag champs and we are leaving here the tag champs! You thought you were gonna make easy pickings out of The SWAT Cats?! You better cherish this moment and remember it for the rest of your lives because that is the closest you heifers are ever gonna get to the belts!" Tracy would roar as she pointed forwards with her index finger, specifically at the belts that Mara and Toni had stolen from her team.

If The Ashfords accepted, however evil and vicious they were, Tracy and Aurora would meet them in the ring to kick off this contest. Kat would remain on her back at ringside, still down and out with an injured left shoulder, courtesy of the challengers, most notably, Dana Ashford.

Having brought Katherine right on top of the announcer's table, Dana then lifted her up in a vertical suplex position before sending her crashing down onto the table with her signature move, Sword of Damocles. Dana herself managed to soften her own fall using the luchadora's body, and she chuckled in amusement as she looked at the wreck that was Katherine's body.

Getting up, Dana would take her time admiring her handiwork, even as Katherine's teammates, Aurora and Tracy went to huddle around the downed Katherine. She was thinking that these two might lose their will to fight now that the one who held the team together was out of commission, but when she heard their words, Dana was pleasantly surprised.

"Oho~ so the little kitties do have some claws, after all..." Dana said in amusement. She motioned to her daughters to get ready, and both Mara and Toni prepared themselves. They gave one last look at Katherine, who was tended by the doctors. From the look of it, she would be having problem if she decided to join the fight.

And so, the Ashford family went to prepare themselves, waiting for the match to begin. Both Mara and Toni would hand over the title belts to the official, and judging from the expressions on their faces (especially Toni's), they were confident that they would get to wear them at the end of this match. Speaking of the match, the champions would start out with a massive handicap, with Katherine now seemingly out of commission.
