Quarterfinals: Amy Henderson vs. Jessica Parker

"Errgh..." Amy groaned as Jessica pulled her head back with the crossface. The taunting didn't let up either. So much pressure was being put on her neck, the blonde was starting to worry about permanent damage. Still, this was far from the worst she had ever been through.

As the red-head continued to wrench her back, Amy planted her palms down on the canvas. Doing her best to leverage what she could, she would use her strength to push herself and her opponent upwards. She would do her best to make it to her feet. When she got to a more stable base, she would attempt to reach behind herself and grab onto the back of Jessica's neck.

Should no counters be made, Amy would try to drop down on her butt, going for a makeshift-backpack-stunner to get her foe off of her!

"Try this one on for size!"

"Make sure you get on my good side!" she called out to the few people taking snapshots with their mobile phones. In the mean time, she applied even more pressure to the hold, pulling Amy's neck as hard as she can. The referee would be watching the two carefully.

"Cmon I dare ya to shake me off. Even if you were gonna cuff me I'd stay!" Jessica challenged her opponent to try anything, believing that just simply cranking on the blonde would just bring her back to the ground. Being cocky was one of her many flaws but she hardly ever realises it. "Wha-What?" Jessica found herself dumbfounded upon also being elevated off the ground and hanging on Amy's back, only not falling because of her crossed arms.

Too caught up in her confusion, Amy was allowed to proceed as she pleased. "No...stop this.....AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" she screamed after being dropped onto her butt. The shock throughout her body caused Jessica to land limp on her back.

A wave of relief washes over Amy as she hits that stunner, and is released from that neck pressure. Still, the blonde is not one to waste time, and she is quick to capitalize on her advantage!

Trying to ignore the nagging pain in her neck, Amy turns her self around and quickly flops on top of Jessica, lengthwise. She puts extra pressure on the shoulders in an effort to keep them on the mat. She knows well enough that her opponent is far from out, but maybe the surprise is enough to score the win before she can react? Amy does still want to win, even if she also wants to have a competitive match.

The ref follows through as well, falling to the mat to begin the count.

Her body still rattled despite laying on the floor for a few seconds. If this person can reverse an infamous movelike the crossface in such a manner, who knows what Amy was capable of?

Jessica would be down for the time being as the referee would do their job and make the count

Shoulders were restrained along with having to deal with the blonde's weight o top of it. Amy was correct that the heel would be caught off guard by the surprise initially, but was it really enough. Jessica started squirming but the general position was unaltered. "1......2...." a short tournament this will be? That's what everyone in the arena wondered. "No...NOOOOOO!" yelling out after the second time, leading to her literally kicking out of the pin and launching Amy away. The crimson haired woman proceeded to drag herself across the mat wanting to reach the ropes.

Two counts would sound off before Amy would be thrown off of her opponent. "Woah!" She actually got some decent airtime out of that, too. Unfortunately, that was hardly a good thing, as it meant that she wouldn't be taking a soft landing at all.

"Oof!"

Amy grabbed her front as she tried to mitigate the pain a bit. A quick as she could, she would try to make it to a vertical base in order to chase down Jessica. However, she just wouldn't be fast enough to make it there before the red-head made it to the ropes.

Begrudgingly, she would back away, respecting the rule that wrestlers couldn't be attacked while in the ropes. Instead, she kept herself on guard. Her opponent had already made it clear that she wasn't above underhanded tactics. If the blonde couldn't regain her momentum here, then she was going to make sure that Jessica didn't get one over her either!

Unless on the near impossibility of Amy basically splashing her after being thrown, Jessica was safe at least for now that is. Moaning and groaning she scrambled across the canvas almost slipping, but still made it to the ropes in just enough time.

"(Did I get sloppy?)" thinking to herself while elevating herself back to a standing position. Once upright she threw an arm back expecting to immediately get jumped on, but Amy was standing away from her. Did her previous attack make enough of a mark to send the blonde away or was it really some honour?

Either way Jessica savoured this as she would have not made a sudden counter if pinned once again immediately. Turning around so her back pressed against the ropes, she beckoned for Amy to approach her. "Come at me if you are woman enough!" yelling to get her attention. If the blonde did go for a strike, she would sidestep and stretch out her leg for a classic trip manoeuvre.

Amy had been around the wrestling block a few times by now. She wasn't stupid enough to try to fight someone in the ropes while she was this coherent (she couldn't exactly vouch for her actions when she was exhausted and delirious, of course). Her skepticism about Jessica's willingness to play unfairly also factored into that decision. Plus, that challenge was clearly an attempt at provocation. At least, Amy assumed it was.

Still, if they both kept up this stalemate, then Amy would hardly ever get the exhilarating match that she really wanted. So, she would need to give in, to some extent. So, a compromise was made.

Amy began to inch closer, decreasing the distance by half before stopping.

"I dont know how you base your judgements on women, but it seems awfully hypocritical for you to call out my bravery while you keep yourself protected by the ropes. Why don't you come and meet me half way, and we can start this again, like real women!"

With that, she put her hands up, awaiting for her for to meet her at that halfway point so they could go for another elbow and collar tie-up.

Seems words have affected her opponent's mindset all to well. Amy wasn't going to approach her to prevent herself being jumped on. If Jessica wished to make a name for herself, she would have to try new tricks or keep things subtle so nobody can learn or adapt against her. This wasn't like moving to a new town at all. Maybe she had to rely on actual fighting prowess or entering the bear's cage to make any progress.

Jessica remained in her position for half a minute after the blonde stopped in her tracks. Tripping into the ropes wouldn't happen today, so she would be the first to break the stalemate and tension.

"Wow you can finally speak in full blondie. Since you are so insistent and not playing my way, I'll humor you for now little girl!" she barked at the other woman while moving away from the ropes with arms raised.

Accepting the elbow and collar-tieup both would be locked in the ring in another strength contest. At the present moment, she exerted her upper body strength trying to bring Amy onto her knees.

Amy smiled as the red-head finally caved in and met her halfway. She would never truly be sure if she had avoided a trap or not, but Amy gave herself some credit anyway, if only to bolster her own spirits.

The two girls locked up again, with Jessica exerting much more pressure than before. If the blonde hadn’t had her guard up, she would have been brought to her knees in a second.

Instead, she held on, doing her best to stave off the onslaught of strength that her opponent was now exhibiting.

“See? You’ve got plenty of fighting prowess! Why do you feel the need to be so underhanded?”

As she finished saying that, the girl in blue would attempt to shift her position in order to throw Jessica off-balance. If successful, she would try to move inwards and grab her foe to throw her with a belly-to-belly suplex!

She was going to take home glory the old fashioned way, although people have fighting dirty since two men traded blows. If this still turned out to be the most efficient way of fighting, Jessica would have to accept as it is.

At first things were going in her favour with the blonde noticeably looking more vulnerable over time. Maybe this will be the actual path to victory after all. She had to almost ruin her body both in and out of the prison to reach this physical level.

"Because girlie it isn't enough. The world doesn't work with honour at every corner!" she barked as if some experience was responsible for her mindset.

Jessica failed to realised that she was stepping into Amy's trap. Letting the blonde lean back a bit, gravity would do the rest. "AHHHHHHHH NOOOOO!" being thrown across the mat until landing on her back as a result of the belly to belly. The crimson haired fiend laid down defenceless now.
