Black Diamond vs. The SoCal Connection

Cheyenne Black Rock got her tag and bounded towards Kayla immediately, a determined expression on her face as she raced to beat her to her partner. For a moment, she thought she had her and then even threw a double axe handle towards Kayla's back, hoping to catch her and knock her down before she could make the tag, but Kayla made it and Ashley was ready to take her turn in the match. Giving Ash a more hardened look, the Native American would begin to step back, choosing not to advance or take a cheap shot, but to allow Ashley to enter the ring on her own terms.

Getting to the middle of the ring, Cheyenne would squat down slightly and adopt a grappling pose, staring at Ashley before saying simply, "You make take your best shot. And see if it is good enough." She said the words with a bold certainty, her expression serious as she waited for the fresh partner to get into the ring, while Deanna continued to baby her knee on the apron, watching on.

The tag had been a subtle one, and one that Kayla had only just barely made. With how quickly and forcefully Cheyenne was moving, she prepared herself for the worst; she wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she still ended up at the heavyweight's mercy. Drawing in a breath and going tense, Kayla braced herself. But luckily, Cheyenne was at least being a good sport about it. Seeing the tag, she slowed to a stop, allowing Ash to pull her partner out of the ring and slide in to take her place. "Arright, Kayla, I got this," she said. "You take it easy there, all right?"

"Mmf..." The best Kayla could manage was a groan as she slipped out to rub at her side, trying to dull the pain. The size difference between Cheyenne and Ashley was even greater, and she reserved the right to be skeptical about her chances. Ash seemed confident, but there wasn't much she wasn't confident in either.

In any case, Ash grinned as she got into a stance and eyed up Cheyenne, evidently unfazed by the hulking woman's stature. "Pssht...how's about this?" Wanting to make a bold statement, Ashley pushed off the ground with one foot to spin herself, then drove her other foot out at Cheyenne's stomach, hoping the spinning sole kick would be enough to surpass her defenses.

Cheyenne Black Rock waited for Ash to step up to her, a stoic gaze on her as she waited for the girl to come at her. Ash was quicker, and the redhead proved it by swiftly spinning and kicking the Chieftess in her stomach! Cheyenne doubled over slightly, her stare narrowing on the girl as her mouth tightened.

The Native American would then roar then give Ashley a shove before stepping towards her, pounding her chest and and giving her a look as if she were challenging her to try striking at her again--to give it her best shot to take her down. She wanted to show Ash Daniels she didn't fear her, even to the point of being willing to take another hit from her.

With the discrepancies in size between the two women, it seemed like a strike from Ashley might not do much to Cheyenne. Kayla, even as she slumped on the ropes holding her back to try to catch her breath, was watching with tense anticipation to see what might happen. But Ash showed no fear. Her confidence never left her, and even in the face of danger, she lashed out with a hard-hitting kick into Cheyenne's gut!

Seeing the Native American double forward, seemingly stunned, Ashley's grin only grew wider. She struck a pose, placing one hand on her hip as she pumped a fist in the air with another. If she could stagger a larger opponent so easily, she knew she had something going. "Oh yeah! Check it out! Ya see that?" She looked over to her partner, pointing to the winded Cheyenne. "Kay, y'see that?"

"Yes, I did-!" Kayla grumbled, while Ash turned back to her opponent, moving her hands to her hips. "Yeah, what'd you think of that, huh? Not gonna say anything? What are you, scared? Hah! Guess you're not so tough now!" She was having altogether too much fun taunting Cheyenne, which only made Kayla grow more anxious. Her gaze flitted between the two girls, waiting for when Ashley was going to be hit hard.

Cheyenne did shove at Ash, sending her stumbling back, but she remained on her feet, centering herself and glaring up defiantly at her foe. "That's all you've got? Fine! Get a load of this, then!" If Cheyenne was waiting for Ashley to strike, she no doubt had plans, but the redhead was not one to pick up on the subtleties. This time, she threw herself forward, going to throw a knee up to hit Cheyenne in the gut again as she charged. "Haaahh!!"

Cheyenne stood there and waited, ready to take another blow from Ashley. As she noticed the redhead coming at her again, she braced herself for the next blow--another hit to the stomach. And when the knee came in, the Native American's abs were ready to take the hit, and take they did. However, whenever Ashley threw her knee into the stomach, Cheyenne made sure to grab it with an arm holding it in tight. The look Cheyenne gave her was one of foreboading.

Meanwhile, Deanna Duncan let out an obnoxious laugh in her corner as she continued to sit there, pointing at the scene. "Hah! She's--she's going to just flatten her!"

Black Rock seemed undetterred by her partner's comment as she reared her head back and then attempted to nail Ash in the forehead with a big headbutt, hoping to take out her fight early into her comeback!

With Cheyenne having taken the first hit, it proved to Ashley she stood a chance. Sure, the Native American didn't budge all that much, and she had been standing perfectly still in a show of intimidation, which only made it easier for Ash to hit her. But she still hit, and that planted the seeds of confidence in the redhead's mind, making her feel like Cheyenne wasn't such an unsurmountable obstacle as she might have seemed. Many wrestlers, of a more strategic and attentive sort, might have seen that something was amiss and been wary. But Ash was not one of these people. When she went for the knee strike, she made her move with a confident grin, fully assured it would bring the destructive power she was counting on.

All of this, then, made it all the more surprising for Ashley when instead of taking the blow head-on and going staggering, Cheyenne simply grabbed her by the leg and stared her down. All went quiet in the ring, as Ashley's boastful grin changed to a look of wide-eyed horror, the realization of what she was up against setting in. She looked up at Cheyenne, not moving, and gulped. "Oh, uh...heh...hi?"

Cheyenne didn't need any formalities. Using her hold on Ash, she pulled her in closer and threw her own head forward to make impact against the Californian's skull! A loud thud rang out, accompanied by a cry of pain, as Ashley was thrown backward off her feet and into the ropes, landing slumped against them as she coughed and sputtered. "Gah...oww..."

"Hi," said Cheyenne flatly. And then a swing of her head straight into Ashley's sent her opponent flailing back against the ropes. The Native American would then stalk the girl as Deanna Duncan laughed in the corner, applauding the stiff move! Cheyenne would then press close and then say, "Bye." The heavyweight would then whip Ash towards the other side of the ring and begin to walk towards her.

Deanna, having stood up by this time, still gingerly on her one leg, blew a kiss to Ash as she rebounded off the opposite ropes. Then in the center of the ring, Black Rock would be waiting, getting ready to hoist Ash up, hoping to swing her around and throw her down onto her knee with a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker!

As stoic as she might have appeared, it seemed that a little humor wasn't above Cheyenne. She had her own dry retort to Ashley's nervous small talk, but while Deanna might have been amused, the same could not be said for Ash. She was left slumped against the ropes, hanging with her arms hooked over the top, and her head lolling in a daze as she took in ragged breaths to refill her lungs. She had to try and focus to stop the ring from spinning. Cheyenne could definitely pack a punch.

And, as Ashley would soon discover, she wasn't done yet! She grabbed the redhead's arm and whipped her clean across the ring, leaving her to run into the ropes at full power before she knew where she was going. "W-WHOOOOOAH! WHOAH WHOAH WHOAH, HEY-!!" she cried out, her arms flailing in front of her as she tried to slow herself down or catch onto something. But all was of no avail, and as the rebound hit her, she was shot back at Cheyenne - right into the path of the heavyweight's grasp, as she hoisted Ashley off the ground! Ash was taken aback by the sudden shift in altitude; Cheyenne had scooped her up as though she weighed nothing. And a moment later, she was hurled down into her outstretched knee, the impact throwing her off and onto her face below! Ash's arms flailed as she fell through the air, but soon, she planted directly into the canvas, at last going still. Kayla could only look on in horror, biting her lip and sucking in a breath. This new team was a force to be reckoned with!

Cheyenne eyed Ashley as she came back and then with precision, she scooped up Ashley with ease, twisted her around in the air, then planted her over her knee in the Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker! Ashley bounced painfully off of her knee and Black Rock stayed kneeling in front of the ailing lightweight, eyeing her a moment as if to decide her next move.

Deanna cheered from her corner, throwing a fist in the air. "GET HER CHEYENNE! MAKE HER CRY!" shouted Duncan, clearly still smarting from the spear that Ashley had given her early in the match.

"I will have to oblige my partner," said the Chieftess flatly before she moved forward and then began to pull Ashley to her feet. And then, with a powerful scoop, she would attempt to bring up the redhead straight into a bearhug attempt, wanting to compress the spine of her hurting opponent even more!

Ashley's world was one of pain, as her back was still aching from the collision she had made with Cheyenne's knee. She reached behind her, trying to rub at her spine in an effort to dull the sensation, but it still didn't do her much good, especially when she was so sore just the act of moving her limbs felt like a labor. She had no choice but to lay on her stomach and hope it wouldn't be long before the pain subsided. Unfortunately, that was a pretty risky demand when Cheyenne was still in the ring with her, and still set on dominating.

The next thing Ash knew, she was being pulled to an unsteady footing as the Native American hauled her to her feet. The shift in altitude made her head spin as she tried to focus, and it only grew worse as she was hoisted up higher and into Cheyenne's powerful embrace. Ash was weary and short of breath, but she would still voice her displeasure, crying out. "H-Hey, hey, watch what you're doing with-RRRRKH-!"

As soon as Cheyenne's arms clamped around her waist and ribs, Ashley was cut short, a wheeze being let out of her choked throat as her face went as red as her hair. She knew she would have to turn things around as quick as she could - she was supposed to be the one to save her partner's skin and to take control, but Cheyenne was so tough, that plan was already going awry! Getting desperate, Ash flailed and kicked her legs below her. She hoped she could land a hit on Cheyenne, or, failing that, to at least make herself hard to hold onto.
