Crossing the LAW: Elena Walker Vs Arthur Cross - Standard Match

Post by Hitman45 »

Match Type: Standard
Victory Condition: Win via Pinfall or Submission INSIDE the ring. Weapons are NOT allowed.

"The winds of change began to blow from the moment Jack brought his son into the family business, at the time convinced that Arthur would carry on the legacy of their lineage, and take CAGE UK to new heights. The Scion was successful in doing so, but by being the antithesis of everything his father and the promotion had stood for ever since its inception…."

Elena was seated, adjusting her footwear, making sure the knee-pads and boots fit snugly against her knees, calves and shins respectively. Her phone leaned against the backpack in which the blonde stored her belongings, playing a YouTube video titled “The Rollercoaster Of UK’s OG Promotion”.

She leaned forward towards the pocket-sized screen on the bench adjacent to her own, the moment Arthur Cross marched into the storied history of the legendary promotion. She was going to spend the next few minutes witnessing what was probably THE biggest feud in the history of the company, which saw the son lose to his old man in the end and be cut off from the promotion altogether.

It was understandable for anyone to wonder why Elena was so invested in the past of a wrestling promotion she’d neither fought in nor had any connection with. She was scheduled for a match shortly and should’ve been looking up her opponent instead to prep herself, right?

Well, the reason would come to light almost immediately, when the common monitor in the locker-room after being done with a slew of advertisements from the sponsors of LAW, flashed with the fight card of the match next in line tonight….

Coming Up Next…..ELENA WALKER V ARTHUR CROSS

The LED Screen beamed and lit up with fiery pyrotechnic animations, followed by the smug headshots of both the wrestlers in question.

The blonde woman rose, phone in hand, done with the video. "Guess if you’re a Dick, you’re bound to get Dicked down…." Elena mused, a chuckle escaping her lips, zipping up her bag with the phone inside and tossing it into her locker.

One last fit-check later, by patting herself all over, her ocean-blue eyes flickering with flashes of intensity, trained at the bright screen, as she slid bands around her wrists. The fight was about to commence soon, against an opponent who had it in him to go to any lengths to get what he wanted. But Elena wasn’t going to fold over.

With a loud, steadying breath, the blonde marched out of the room and towards the Gorilla position, just in time for the stagehands to give her the go-ahead to enter the curtain.

"Let’s get this rolling", Elena nodded, focused on the curtain and made her way out in sync with the music to a rousing reception. And today was extra significant for her due to the debut of her new attire, a more refined and intricate version of her old wrestling gear, something she was sure that the fans would eat up

It was always going to be a new experience, feeling the love of the people and the chorus of cheers or boos all over the dome, and Elena thus would stay poised at the centre of the stage, as the spotlights danced around her to soak it all in.
Entrance Music
Only then would she walk down the ramp, engaging with the enthusiasts in the front rows, maintaining a sunny disposition that formed naturally from all the adoration. The atmosphere was electric, and the blonde strutted to the ring with a spring in her step, sliding in through the gap between the top and the middle ropes, mounting the corner-post to invite applause one last time, before she settled into her corner to limber, awaiting her opponent for the night.

Every wrestler had their little pre-match ritual, things they did to get ready for their match. Some of them do stretches, making sure their bodies get limber so they can wrestle at their prime. Others made sure they were mentally ready - maybe reciting a mantra or calling their parents for a little pick-me-up. Some even turned to less savory methods, involving substances of questionable legality.

Arthur Cross did none of these things. Instead, as the minutes ticked away, he found himself in the spot he deemed most important: Standing in front of a mirror, making sure his

was completely on point, head to toe.

He waited in one of LAW's dressing rooms, one of the private areas that would, typically, be reserved for top-tier talent. Champions, veterans, tournament competitors, the like. Normally, a fresh face to the company wouldn’t be able to get such lush accommodations, but Arthur was nothing if not convincing. A few words to the right people, a couple of promises made, and a meager amount of currency changed hands. It got him where he wanted to be.

The dressing room wasn’t exactly a lush accommodation, but it was nice to have his own little space. Or their little space, since he wasn’t alone. As he put the finishing touches on his look,

looked on from the couch, the two of them tangled up in their usual repose. Alex was stretched out on the couch, hands behind her head, leisurely lounging, while Betty sat on her lap, looking over her phone and teasing her lover with the occasional grind. She blew a bubble with the gum that seemed to be eternally in her mouth, and looked Alex’s way with a bemused smile. ”I swear, boss, you spend more time looking in a mirror than we do. Combined.” She chuckled and bounced on Alex’s lap, hard enough to make the bigger woman grunt and glare her way. ”It’s a wrestling match, not your first date.”

”First impressions are important, love.” He started working to tape up his fists, making sure his moneymakers were well padded. He’d need them in tiptop shape, tonight. ”A lot of these people have heard of me, but this will be their first time seeing me in action. I need to make sure they come away with the right perceptions.”

”They’re going to perceive you as a rich, stuck-up snob.” Alex chimed in, with her usual flat delivery, casting a lazy eye his way as Betty continued to bounce in his lap. ”Which, to be fair, you are.”

”Supportive, as always.” He made the final touches on his tape and spun about, getting a good look at himself from multiple angles. “That’s why I pay you top dollar.”

”You pay us ‘top dollar’ to do your dirty work. Which you, allegedly, don’t want us doing today. Which begs the question of why we’re here.” Alex kept her smile slim and sharp. Love.”

Arthur looked back at the two women - his enforcers, ostensibly - with a wry grin. As usual, Alex cut to the heart of things. While he had no qualms using the two to help sway a match in his favor when he needed it, he’d specifically asked them to stay out of things for his debut match, wanting to score a ‘clean’ win to start things off. Initially, they’d thought that meant they would have the night off, but he regretfully informed them that he still wanted their company at ringside. ”Call it moral support. I’ll fight so much better if I have you angels looking over me.”

Betty shrugged and brought her attention back to the glowing screen. From the sound of it, she was in the middle of a rousing game of Angry Birds. ”I call bullshit. He just wants to come down to the ring with two hot chicks at his side.”

”That, too. Multiple things can be true at the same time.”

He wagged a finger their way, just as the door opened and a stagehand stepped inside - a young, shy, sheepish thing. She looked about, nervous, then gave them the thumbs up. She didn’t say anything, but the meaning was taken. ”Showtime.”

A few minutes later, and the three of them were making their way down the ramp with Arthur’s
playing behind them, heading towards the ring with long, proud steps. The crowd’s reaction was, to put it mildly, mixed. Some of them clearly knew about his history, others probably didn’t like the vibe he was giving off, and others still just didn’t like rooting for a man. It didn’t bother Arthur. Opinions could change.

He made his way into the ring, sliding in under the bottom rope as Betty and Alex made their way around the perimeter, finding a nice little corner to watch the proceeding. As soon as she was up, his gaze locked on his opponent for the evening: Elena Walker. A big woman, a heavyweight. Not quite as big as he was, but no small fry, either. She looked like she could take a beating, which was a good thing. It wouldn’t be much of a show if she caved early.

Looking to keep up appearances, he made his way over to the center of the ring and extended his hands, looking for a gentlemanly shake. He kept his smile up, trying his best to look genial. ”Arthur Cross, pleased to meet you.” He nodded her way. ”Let’s give them something to talk about, eh?”
