Match A: Melody Serperior vs "The Miracle Girl" Mighty Yukiko

Melody almost teared up when she pinned Yukiko, the pain in her arm reaching unbearable levels, practically wishing she was tapping her arm on the mat to end the pain...

Thankfully, the Ace broke the hold before that happened, simultaniously kicking out of the pin. Both ladies got back to their feet, as Melody held her hurt arm with the other, holding it to her side. It seemed she couldn't quite use her right arm the same way further into the match...

...but her striking ability wasn't completely counter acted, she still had her legs in her arsenal! Rushing towards the pinkette the moment she was up on her feet, Melody would stop right as she approached her opponent, pivoting on her right leg to launch her left at Yukiko's head for a roundhouse kick!

Yukiko was a little furstrated that Melody was able to roll her shoulders on the mat that easily... after all the damage the two had already done to each other! Yukiko hoped her arm bar at least limited Melody's surprisingly vast arsenal of moves as she got up to her feet, the resilent green woman clutching her right arm... only to send a sudden roundhouse kick flying at Yukiko's head!

CRACK!

The sound of Melody's shin smacking against the skull of Yukiko could be heard throughout the arena as Yukiko stayed on her feet... her arms at her sides and eyes glazed over! She was knocked for a loop at the moment, unable to foucus her blurry vison or silence the ringing in her ears enough to avoid whatever move was about to come next!

Melody breathed heavily as she removed her leg, looking at Yukiki. Even though the Ace didn't fall down from the impact, she could tell that the pinkette was more than rattled by the attack from her face, Melody getting a clear advantage on her opponent! And given the current predicament, she knew for sure that a move Yukiko countered earlier won't be countered know.

Kicking her in the gut and trapping her head with a Front Facelock, Melody would lift Yukiko in the air for a skull crushing Impaler DDT!

Yukiko could only stumble back and forth, the world around her a mess of colors and indefinable shapes. One of those shapes made a movement toward her gut, forcing her to double over and clutch her chest. Complelely subdued as she felt a vice move about her head, Yukiko could only brace for the inevitable impact as she was lifted in the air, fleeing the sensation of floating for a split second, before being driven down to the canvas head first!

BANG!

Yukiko would flop onto her back, eyes closed and arms and legs spread out; the crowd murmering amongst themselves wondering if the former Wrestle Angels star was knocked out!

With Melody successfully executing the Impaler DDT this time, Yukiko flipped herself face up on the canvas, laying spray eagled, seemingly completely out of it!

And as Melody swiftly sat up, she didn't waist a second, immidiately scooting closer to the pinkette and covering her chest with her body, hooking her leg, and practically folding the former Wrestle Angels Ace for a pinfall attempt!

"Unnn..." Yukiko groaned slightly, feeling her leg lifted in the air with a weight pressing down on her chest. Everything was so fuzzy...

"ONE!" she heard a voice cry out, along with the impact of a hand hitting the mat.

"TWO!" it cried out again, Yukiko putting it all together and gaining a moment of clarity... she was being pinned!

"RAH!" with a cry, Yukiko shot her shoulder up, determined not to go out this early!

With a massive push forward, Yukiko pushed her arm and shoulder off the mat, turning on her stomach and breaking Melody's pin!

"DAMNIT!", Melody loudly shouted, hitting the mat in anger. She looked at the referee: "Three?!"

The official shook her head in response, showing to fingers, Melody growling at Yukiko for the kick out. However, it seemed that the Ace was still out of it, laying on the mat after the greenette's DDT. Melody knew it would take only 1 or 2 more shots to finally beat Mighty Yukiko!

Her head then turned to the nearby turnbuckle, before once again turning to Yukiko and nodding to herself. It was time to fly high.

It would take the greenette roughly 4 seconds to get to the corner and climb the turnbuckle, and another to measure Yukiko's position, before she jumped off, rotating in mid air, aiming her back for Yukiko's body for a Swanton!!!

The only thing that gave Yukiko the strength to kick out was the sheer adrenaline from the sound of the crowd. They were split between the two talented women, but Yukiko wasn't about to let her loyal fans down! She didn't have much left, however, flopping back down onto her back after the kickout. She the heard the sound of nearby turnbuckles nearby, and then the roar of the crowd! Knowing something bad was about to happen, Yukiko rolled back, seeing Melody sail over her! That roll was almost entirely out of instinct, and had Yukiko waited just one more second before rolling the match would have been over! As it stood, however, she dodged the attack! Now her main focus was to get to the ropes to pull herself up.

Melody found high-flying moves an extremely effective for her arsenal, thinking that the risk of missing or being countered was worth the massive damage against her opponent. A thing she noticed recently, however, is that both of her biggest Top Rope and/or Springboard moved (the Moonsault and the Swanton), didn’t allow her to see her target as she sailed through the air, unlike with most of the Splash attacks.

This was one of the cases where seeing a target would’ve helped her brace for a crash landing. Instead of Yukiko’s body, the Greenette crash landed right onto the wooden mat!

“AAAAGH!”, she screamed as she slammed her spine hard against the canvas, turning onto her stomach, trying to soothe the pain in her hurting back!

Yukiko slowly pulled herself up, the crowd split down the middle between the Wrestle Angels vetren and the promising green haired rookie! It had been an intense back in forth match, but as Yukiko looked down at the recoling Melody, she knew this was her chance to end it!

"Get up!" Yukiko shouted, beckoning Melody to her feet as her fans began to clap in anticpation! When the greenette stood, Yukiko would duck down and try to lift her up to her shoulders, looking to put her in position for her devestating finisher, the Mighty Fuji-Chan!

With Melody lying in pain after Yukiko countering her Swanton, the greenette swiftly tried to get to her feet. The ascent was slower than anticipated, with Yukiko actually egging her on into getting up.

Only at the last possible moment did she realised that she was caught into the veteran's trap.

The moment she got up, the pinkette would grab a hold of Melody, getting the greenette onto her shoulders, clearly preparing for a devastating manuever that could finish her!

Yukiko was able to get Melody onto her shoulders, one hand around her neck and another on her back. She would keep Melody held up for a moment, letting the moment sink in, before shifting Melody off her shoulders almost as if going for a fireman's carry slam. Unless Melody was able to sneak out or somehow countered, Yukiko would catch Melody as she fell in a brainbuster-like positon, which would slam the back of Melody's head into the mat.

A second later, the moment came, with Yukiko attempting to throw the greenette off her shoulder to finish the match.

It was now or never time.

Right as Yukiko shifted Melody to throw her on her back, Melody took a firm hold of Yukiko's head, shifting herself slightly to get her head up, to avoid bumping it hardly into the canvas, while pulling the Ace's head down, trying to drive her fce first into the canvas for her finishing Leaf Blade!

Yukiko's eyes widened as when she was about to throw Melody, who was seemingly limp on her shoulders, the arms of the greenette suddenly shot around her head! The crowd let out a shocked gasp as Yukiko, having already thrown Melody, had no choice but to let gravity do its work. In all her years as a wrestler, she had never seen a counter like that...

BANG!

Yukiko would crash face first into the canvas, her body briefly going up into the air before dropping down, spread out and unmoving from the out of nowhere Leaf Blade! She was finished!

"That's it!", Melody thought as she hit her move, quite literally, out of nowhere!

She immidiately rushed towards the spray eagled Mighty Yukiko, swiftly turning the Ace on her back before putting her body on top of her chest, and hooking the leg for the (hopefully) final pin!

"ONE!"

Yukiko lay motionless on the mat, the leaf blade having left her near unconscious. She tried moving her exhausted limbs, but the only movement they made was from Melody rolling her over to her back and hooking her leg. She would hear the referee slap the mat for a one count, but even then she knew it was over

"TWO!"

...

"Great job Melody..." she thought, "THREE!"

As referee screamed for the second count, Melody anxiety started to catch up with her, as the final second stretched, seemingly forever. If Yukiko kicked out right now, while yes, she would’ve been surprised, part of her wouldn’t have been. Yukiko was one of the best wrestlers, both currently and of all time. Her kicking out of a finisher? Didn’t seem so unlikely, especially since she wouldn’t be the first one to kick out of the Leaf Blade… However:

“THREE!”

DING DING DING!

Even at this, Melody went wide eyed as she let go of Yukiko’s leg, and rose to a seat, as her theme started playing to confirm the cheering crowd of her victory: “I…w-won?!”

Melody finally got up to her feet, shooting a look at the LAW crowd cheering for the match the veteran of Wrestle Angels and a relatively new wrestler just had, as the greenette couldn’t help but smile into the crowd! She climbed the middle rope of the turnbuckle, raising her hands in victory, before getting down, and bowing to the crowd…before turning to Mighty Yukiko and outstretching her hand: “You alright there, Ace?”

Yukiko would lay on the mat a few moments after the bell rung, clutching her head as many conflicting emotions went through her mind. Sure she lost, not even making it to the quarter finals of the torunament, a fact that might have suggested the Wrestle Angels veteren was past her prime, but at the same time the crowd loved the match the two had put on, and in the end Melody won fair and square, hitting a counter Yukiko never saw coming, and that was something that didn't occur often!

Slowly rising to her feet, Yukiko would have a small smile on her face as she shook the outstreched hand of Melody, the crowd cheering at the show of respect from the Ace of Wrestle Angels! "I'm fine. Congratulations Melody. You're one of the best I've stepped in the ring with, and that isn't a lie. I hope we can meet again, but until then enjoy your moment and good luck with the rest of the tournament!"

With that, Yukiko would give a bow to Melody before stepping out of the ring, quietly walking to the back as she already began to think about what was next for her.

With Yukiko shaking Melody's hand and praising her, the young wrestler blushed. THE Mighty Yukiko just called her one of the best she ever stepped into the ring with!

"U-um...thanks! I definitely will the entire tourney!" Melody proclaimed. WIth one last respectful bow from Yukiko to Melody, the ace would leave the ring, leaving the greenette alone for a few moments, as she cheerfully stepped out of the ring herself, for a victory lap of highfives around it, before going up the entrance ramp, disappearing into the backstage herself...
