Main Event: "Super Kitty" Katherine Hart vs Melody Serperior - Melody Retires?

One hard strike to the jaw, a person, especially a tough as nails wrestler like the Super Kitty, might’ve been able to take and keep standing on their two feet…

…but a Roundhouse Kick on top of that? Even the mighty had to fall.

With Kat grounded, the crowd would jeer Melody, the greenette acknowledging them only with a momentary cold gaze, before her attention returned to her opponent. Grabbing Kat by her mask, she would forcibly pull her to a seat, before unleashing a roundhouse kick after roundhouse kick to her chest, each attack accompanied with a chorus of boos!

Melody stood tall and dominant when The Super Kitty went down! Every jeer and boo from the fans seemed to bounce right off the steely, cold gaze of the greenette! Of course, she only drew my ire from the fans and the commentators when she pulled Kat up by her mask!

"Agh!" Kat groaned as her hands raced to keep her prized Super Kitty mask over her head. The struggle would see Serperior forcibly haul the luchadora up to a seated position! And once she was there, Melody would begin to work on Kat with kick after kick!


"Ah! Ungh! Uuuuf!" Kat would groan with each stiff kick!

Melody slowly but surely took the wind out of The SWAT Cat's sails! The thuds from the kicks echoed out! Kat's hefty bosom bounced with each impact. The green frills from the ankles of Melody's flourished in the breeze as she cut loose!

Boos filled the arena after each kick. But they did nothing to cushion the blow! With each kick, Kat seemed more and more stunned. After about ten kicks in a row, Kat would fall flat on her back! Melody's offense was cold, calculating, effective....and yet, after being down for five seconds.

"RAAARGH!" The Super Kitty suddenly sat up and let out a battle cry!

Kat grit her teeth and hulked up! She would sit up and slowly rise up to her feet, tanking Melody's kicks all the while if she had more to spare! And if she did, Kat would grab Melody's foot once she was on her feet! Kat would look to turn this around by holding Melody's foot with both hands and locking eyes with her before spinning and dropping down to pay her back for all those roundhouse kicks with a vicious Dragonscrew Leg Whip!

Melody didn’t give a damn to all the jeers and boos sent her way for each kick she delivered to the Super Kitty, for forcing Kat to fight her on her terms like this. After 10 kicks, Kat seemingly went down. Melody looked down at her rival with an angry, hateful look, about to open her mouth to taunt the Super Kitty again…

…only for Super Kitty to suddenly rise back up with a mighty roar!

”YOU BASTA-LET GO!”

In anger, Melody tried to kick Kat once more, only to capture her leg, before she twisted it, driving Melody into the ground with the motion of the Dragon Screw Leg Whip!

”MGGGH!!!”, the greenette would let out in pain and anger!

It took all the disrespect and the goading in the world, but Melody had finally incensed Kat to the point of making The Super Kitty fight her for real! Strike for strike, blow for blow, Serperior was able to keep Kat in check, but only for so long!

"You always had a mean kick, Melody. And that's why I need to take it away." Kat would say while on all fours. She rose up slowly after hitting the Dragon Screw.

Before long, The Super Kitty would be standing over Melody again. Kat would reach down to grab that same hurting leg of her rival.

"I want you to know. I really did want to be your friend." Hart would say in a solemn tone, laced with regret before abruptly whipping her own shin at Melody's knee and thigh for a Roundhouse Kick! And then another! Kat did her best to target that leg!

If the tag team champion remained in control, she would bend down to collect both of Melody's legs after the two round kicks! Kat would look to fasten them into one of her signature holds! A move she called The Jack of Harts!

If she managed to apply this variation of the Reverse Indian Deathlock, Hart would kneel on one knee and wrench back in the hold, working Melody's knee and forcing the greenette to bridge backward to relieve some of the pressure! And if Melody did just that, Kat would ball her fist and jab the middleweight in her exposed midsection to bring her back down to the canvas on her back to further subject her to the hold!

It was always a problem specializing in a particular type of offense in a sport that allowed mixing of styles. For Melody, her kicks were always going to become a disadvantage going forward in her career, as she herself wore them out with her kicks, while her opponents would keep on targetting them in matches to take away her advantage.

As Kat grabbed her leg once more, leaving one more comment to try and make the greenette feel guilty, she couldn't help but grit her teeth. In her anger, she wanted to call bullshit on Kat's words, but she was trying to be reasonable throughout her career. Melody had no choice but to support Navi's war against her arch-enemy...and this is where they were now. Melody wanted to beat the insurmountable wall that Kat represented, or end her career here.

With no response, Melody would simply grunt out in pain as Kat drove 2 hard kicks into her already hurting leg, before wrapping her legs together, her left leg pressing into her right calf! Melody's legs were now trapped in a variation of a Reverse Indian Deathlock!

"MGGGGGHGHHH!!!"

Melody instinctively bridged up, the pressure on her calf relieving itself...but this would leave her open to a strike from Kat, as she drove her fist straight into Melody's stomach!

"GUUUH! MGGGH!!!"

For a moment, it felt hopeless. No matter what Melody did, pain was around her. Did she really put on that big of a mark to fight vs Kat?

Gritting her teeth, the greenette shook her head as she rose up once again. Right as Kat's fist came crashing down towards her, Melody lifted her arms up, trying to catch her rival's arm, and topple her over onto her front!

From there, Melody would try to roll on top of Kat's back to keep her grounded, bending her leg at an angle while grabbing her masked head, and bending it up, trying to trap her in her friend's own signature move - STF!

There were virtually no women in the locker room who could outdo Kat when it came to working a body part or applying a hold. No matter how many squats Melody had been doing lately and no matter how practiced she was in stringing together hard kick after hard kick into her signature Leaf Blade Cutter, the legendary luchadora could whittle those legs of Serperior down with just a few moves and holds!

Melody had experienced this before in her prior match with The Super Kitty. It was part of why she wanted this match, part of why she had something to prove to the world and to herself! The greenette wanted to prove she belonged. Serperior's career was arguably in limbo ever since her path and Kat's diverged way back when. And now that they were in the ring together, Melody's drive brought out the best in her! Her desire to beat the face of the company and prove she had a place at LAW drove her to find her way out of Kat's Jack of Harts hold!

"You wanted this, right?! You wanted me to give you my best?!" Kat brought down the hammer once more! She aimed what had to be the third or fourth straight right-handed punch at the exposed midriff of her rival! But to the surprise of everyone watching, this time Serperior caught Hart's fist and stopped it!

"Huh?!" Kat was genuinely caught by surprise! So much so that Melody was able to find some leverage and yank the masked blonde down to the mat, finally finding her way out of the hold! A range of reactions could be heard throughout the arena as Melody turned the tables!

Wasting no time, the greenette rolled her lithe, middleweight frame on top of Kat's while Kat was still prone! She immediately seized the tag team champion's leg with both of her own! Melody seized Kat's head between her arms and applied her best friend's submission finisher! In a callback to their old rivalry and as a nod to her longtime best friend, Melody used Navi Florges finishing hold, the STF, to put Kat in a bind!

"Nghrrrr!" Hart grunted in pain once the hold was applied! She grasped at Melody's bicep with one hand! With the other, Kat pushed against the mat to raise her head and upper body to relieve some pressure from the hold! Hart winced with one eye open! She gasped for air! She reached for the ropes but they were eons away, as the two ladies were in the center of the ring! Suspense and concern from the commentary desk and the fans filled the arena as Melody added pressure and turned the tables on the woman of a thousand holds by using Navi Florges' own submission finisher!

As much as Kat didn't want to have this match, Melody wasn't fighting this to lose. She wanted to keep going, wanted to continue her career, wanted to prove herself worthy of her spot in LAW. She trained like hell going into the match. This was why she wanted Kat to go all pit against her. To showcase herself on the Tag Champion's level!

Melody would successfully lock in the STF, her best friend's finisher, one Kat was very well familiar with...and at the moment, struggled to get out of!

"I did! I need you at your best! I need to prove to you, to everyone...to me, that I AM BETTER!" Melody would shout as she cranked the hold in deeper, choking Kat out, while also stretching her spine beyond reasonable measure!

Melody cranked that hold for all it was worth! She channeled her friend's moxie along with her own! She channeled the rivalry Navi had with Kat alongside her own desire to prove that she belonged among the top brass at LAW! Alongside her desire to prove that she was a better woman and a better wrestler than Katherine Hart! Or retire trying!

"Huff.....huff....." Kat let out a few deep exhales as her movements slowed! Though she had three limbs free, Melody had something of a Stepover Sleeper hold on her rather than a conventional STF! Serperior kept a tight hold over the luchadora's throat with her bicep! The greenette choked The Super Kitty out good! Kat had kicked and crawled her way across the canvas! But the ropes were still a ways away!

"Hnnnng!" Kat winced with one eye open as she reached out with one hand for the ropes! But still no dice! The hand she extended slowly sank down to the mat! Her breathing slowed. Fans began to express concern and despair as The Super Kitty seemed to show fewer and fewer signs of life!

Eventually, Kat would settle into a mostly prone position with her palms and heavy bust against the canvas, and her head held up by nothing but her angry green-clad rival's hold!

Kat's eyes would close. The referee would kneel down to check the arm! And if Melody kept the hold locked in, the striped shirt girl would look to grab Kat by the wrist with both hands! The official would raise the luchadora's arm high to begin the limp test! And Kat's arm would fall lifelessly with a plop against the canvas! Fans everywhere would despair as the official counted the first of three checks!

"ONE.........!"

"I can do this...I can do this..."

Melody couldn't bare the thought of losing. Navi might've been fine quitting the company, but she wanted to show something for her career. Whether it was this match that proved that she died trying...or whether it was the launch pad into the next part of her career!

Kat did her best to climb towards the ropes. Melody knew Kat wasn't going to tap...and so, the only choice for the Super Kitty was to, very likely, take a nap! And as Kat spent time in the hold, it seemed more and more likely that that was going to happen!

Kat succumbed to the fatigue, and collapsed underneath her lanky foe! The ref, concerned, would check on Kat. Melody wasn't going to let go off the hold until she heard the ringing of the bell, as the zebra-striped official lifted the Super Kitty's arm for the second time...

Melody held onto Kat like a woman possessed! Nasty attitude or no, the commentators remarked on how it was all too clear that Serperior was here to prove something tonight! And Kat was the woman she was using to do just that! It would be karmic to see Melody use her best friend's finishing hold to put The Super Kitty away and rejuvenate her career! The green-haired middleweight kept up the pressure! The busty luchadora slowed to a halt! Even if Kat could find her way to the ropes, the hardcore/no DQ stipulations of the match would not necessitate a rope break for her!

Melody knew all too well that Kat would not tap! The debonair diva diligently and intensely kept the choke hold applied on Kat even as the referee checked the arm! Kat's hand had already talked to the mat once! The official raised The Super Kitty's arm again! Fans everywhere watched with bated breath! Many cheered and clapped to rally the tag champion back to life! But no dice!

"...." Kat lay there with her eyes closed, still firmly in Melody's sadistic clutches as her hand hit the mat a second time! One more would be all over! Fans all over the arena panicked for Kat as she circled the drain of defeat at the hands of a desperate and dangerous Melody Serperior!

The air in the arena grew thick with tension as the referee declared "TWO!" and quickly raised Kat's wrist a third time!

Once again, the official would lift Kat's limp arm high! And once again it would fall! But just before The Super Kitty's gloved hand touches the mat, Kat would ball her hand into a fist and steady it!

"Hng!" Hart would grunt! She stayed in the match, even if just barely! The fans came alive with thunderous cheers! And Kat bent her arm at the elbow and threw it back to give herself the momentum she needed to try and catch Melody by surprise by quickly rolling over!

The Super Kitty would lean on her technical ability and quick thinking to roll over and point her feet to bridge backward a bit and get Melody on her shoulders to try and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat by laying on Melody and bringing back for an impromptu pin! The referee was already paying very close attention! If Kat was successful with her sudden reversal here, the striped shirt woman would immediately drop down to count!
