Alex Drizzle vs Dawn Wilder: Calm and collected

Unread post by RJD »

The winner will be decided through a single pinfall or submission.

The lights faded into a dull blue as Californification started to play through out the arena, and the crowd popped a little in surprise as Alex drizzle appeared on the ramp, gently pushing the curtains aside as she looked over the crowd, wearing sun glasses despite it already being dark and indoors.

The returning bluenette waved to the crowd with a grin, before turning her back to them and pumping her arm up into the air once, closing it into a fist as she held it high, holding that position before then quickly turning around and walking down to the ring quickly. The queen of cool style directed finger guns and thumbs up to just about every fan that she noticed reacting to her in the front row at the ramp area.

Alex finally got to the ring and climbed the apron, taking her sun glasses off before placing them on the apron. The bluenette then leaned back against the ropes, positioning her arms against them as she leaned back further, and tried to throw herself backwards over the top rope, holding onto the ropes to keep her balance as she came landed quickly on the canvas on the other side of the ropes, untangling her arms then going to the furthest corner.

Alex climbed up the corner ropes and held her arms high, posing for the fans and the cameras.

" I'm back baby! " Alex shouted, before jumping off the ropes, and finally settling in her corner, leaning back against it, gripping the ropes and coyly directing a half hearted gaze at the camera, intending to look cool and breezy. Alex would now wait for her opponent to make her entrance, having been too focused on performing for her own entrance to even think about what her opponent might be like.

Usually if Dawn wasn't the first wrestler to make their ring entrance, she would just focus on pre-match preparations consisting of either meditation. This time was an exception as she was curious how a fellow hunter acts when initially alone. Focusing her eyeball into a thin gap between the curtains, the blonde would get a taste of the so called 'Queen of Cool Style'. Only a a brief glimpse and there was just so much to discuss. Such an exotic shade of blue coating waist long hair accentuated by the tiny loop. An outfit that could only sum off as somebody who wishes to stand out from the crowd. No sense of intimidation or camouflage emitted. A fascinating specimen worth observing she thought. Dawn couldn't eavesdrop for longer as she was later called to make her stage entrance.

Wearing her standard yet practical attire, Dawn emerged at the ramp and greeted her fanbase with a modest smile. Her theme music "Semisweet Symphony" wasn't made to create adrenaline or strike fear, she just selected the track for being a refreshing tune. She walked down the aisle at a moderate pace and didn't overly play to the crowd heavily minus a few waves. No bombastic poses or stomping around but the crowd fell in love with her simple yet refreshing approach.

Upon finally reaching the ring and climbing the apron, Dawn clutched the top ropes and hung forward allowing her body to drop towards the mat. Before her skull could receive a dent, the moonchild burst off into forward roll with back scaling the canvas, culminating with the blonde lying on her knees and swiftly hauling herself to a standing position. She only acted in such a manner due to believing it being the proper and efficient solution for scaling this terrain.

Turning her head around to where the bluenette lied, she decided to make her presence well known. "Greetings blue tit...the match is starting so please don't sleep now." Calling out to the fellow lightweight and mistaking her position as something else.

Alex watched, seemingly bored during the entrance, until Dawn done that forward roll landing after pushing herself over the ropes, causing the bluenette's eyes to widen in interest and for her to smile slightly as she clapped. Alex then heard Dawn address her, and blinked twice, she was stumped...she didn't even know where to start.

" Hmm? " Alex grumbled in confusion, lifting her shoulders from the ropes and stepping slightly forward, waiting for clarification or an explanation, before realising that she was just making the awkward pause longer.

" Huh?! Blue tit? Like...that little bird?" Alex responded, blushing slightly and scowling, seemingly agitated from that comparison, shaking her head and her arms to dismiss it.

" I'm like... a crocodile! Or... oh! A blue bear. I don't sleep though, gotta stay active. " Alex continued, before noticing that she had gotten side tracked, and that there was a match needing to be started.

" Alex. " The cool of queen style said, nodding her head quickly before staring at the ref, waiting with an intense gaze for her to start the match. Alex was used to all sorts of pre match greetings, and loved to respond in a cool way, but she felt particularly awkward with that exchange.

Alex also noticed that Dawn had an aura of...calm, and it was weird. The blonde seemed cool and reasonable enough, but her quiet confidence was unsettling to the ridiculously extroverted Alex Drizzle.

Seemed her opponent had a positive aura judging by being gracious enough to applause for simply entering the ring, but things would turn complicated rather quickly. Dawn didn't speak much further despite the awkward silence surrounding them, assuming that the bird allegory was common knowledge.

"Why yes? The species with yellow plumage and reside in the palearctic" Affirming the earlier comment while noticing her surroundings becoming a burning red. In what culture would being compared to an adorable bird be offensive?

She received an answer by an alternate comparison. Seemed Alex wanted to be seen as strong, but the blonde preferred sticking to the truth. "Staying active hmmm? Then...the tiny rabbit shall be the perfect creature for you!" Giving an alternate suggestion even though naming a tiny cuddly creature would affect the bluenette's self-esteem further. It only occurred after a minute's exchange that they haven't properly introduced one another.

"Pardon me for being rude. I am Dawn" Bowing in respect and introducing herself at the same time. She would act polite as usual towards her opponent as she awaited their call for battle. Her first impressions of Alex seemed positive and made the blonde all motivated for further exchanges. How many knew of the Tibetan blue bear? (Even though Alex was probably improvising).

Aura remaining calm and focused, the moonchild wasn't discouraged in the slightest.

DING DING DING

The match would officially begin and Dawn already in motion with arms raised circling around Alex. "Go on...show me your skills" Beckoning the bluenette to approach so she can form a perfect strategy later

" Rabbit? But... " Alex grumbled, realizing that she would need to convince Dawn she wasn't a cute little animal through wrestling, rather than words. The bluenette felt a little bad as Dawn gave her name, having made the blonde think she was being rude. The bluenette's cheeks puffed out and she frowned slightly, with nearly teary eyes though. Alex was clearly very easy to rile up as she seemed rather emotionally struck just from being compared to things that were small, cute and fluffy.

" No, no it's fine. You're not rude, just wrong. I'm Alex Drizzle, and I'm the queen of cool style. " the bluenette responded, brushing her hair back as she gave her self given title, smirking in pride as she gazed over at Dawn.

Once the bell rang Alex went to the middle of the ring, and grabbed Dawn's arms forcefully, trying to initiate a spirited test of strength as she used all her surprising power to try to push the zen cutie back towards the ropes or a corner, really wanting to show off her strength, even if it logically wasn't wise to use so much energy early on.

" See Dawn, aren't I just the strongest? " Alex said, before letting out a little huff of exhaustion as she continued simply trying to push her back with sheer strength, with no other angle for this lock up and no preparation or thought put into what she would do if she actually managed to push Dawn all the way back.

Dawn's awareness of nature mostly correlated with behavioural patterns and not precise figures, so maybe she was really dealing with a hidden powerhouse today. Like in any pack or herd, the most adapted will take control here and possibly set a new standard. Despite making lighthearted observations, she wasn't making meaningful progress in connecting with the bluenette. Seemed Alex had issues regarding self-image.

"Queen of cool style, never in my years heard of such...until now" Suddenly beaming at her opponent with upmost attentiveness. A sudden change of mood made the situation further invigorating.

As the match begun, Alex was keen on accepting Dawn's invitation and taking most of the toll. The blonde found herself too overwhelmed by the queen's sudden charge and slid across the mat slightly towards one of the corners. She didn't bother resisting this advance at first due to processing the move at hand. "I am afraid I have to disagree Alex" Finally digging her feet into the ground so she wouldn't be nudged so easily. Dawn's arms shot out like a python's maw, seizing the neck and shoulder are before sidestepping, aiming to hurl Alex into the corner instead.

Alex really put her all into the grapple, smiling wide as she enthusiastically pushed Dawn all the way back towards the corner, feeling very proud of herself until she was forced to spin round in a twirl, and after a moment of disorientation she felt her back against the corner. The bluenette blushed slightly as she was held into the corner with one hand on her neck and the other on her shoulder.

" Hey! You weren't even trying! " Alex complained passionately, as she tried to grab Dawn's torso and step forward, attempting to push her back. The cool queen knew that the corner was a humiliating and foreboding place to be, so she was hoping that she would be able to push or shove Dawn back and escape.

Unfortunately for Alex though she had put quite a lot of power into the previous lock up, and she hadn't even remotely tried to conserve her strength or stamina, so the bluenette was pushing with a lot less strength than earlier, even if she still had the same level of enthusiasm.

Dawn didn't need to put any strenuous effort into the throw. Conserving stamina and not accidentally injuring herself should be considered a utmost priority. Despite the main intention was simply forcing Alex to just let go, the results proved to be favourable with how she was just standing around breathing for a few seconds. "Don't take too long please" Calling out to the fellow fighter only to receive complaints in return.

"It's simple. I didn't need to." Giving her explanation as quickly as possible before they 'locked up again'. Dawn didn't modify her strategy heavily and just dug those boots into the ground to halt any further moments. Another one of those days where she was dealing with a complete amateur? At least this one is completely motivated.

Another noticeable detail is that they were moving a lot slower compared to the last charge. Dawn decided to finally take advantage by raising her leg and strike Alex in the stomach with a toekick. Considering their current positions there wasn't much setup necessary. The animal lover grasped Alex's neck for a front facelock and simply leaned back for a classic DDT.

Alex had no counter for what Dawn said, since she obviously ended up coming out on top.

" But...that's lame. " Alex complained quietly. The bluenette pushed with all her strength to little progress, before she suddenly felt that leg kick her in the stomach, her toes swing up right into her belly.

" Ooww! " Alex groaned as the blow was enough to make her hunch over. Dawn then tried to take advantage of that fact by wrapping her arm around the bluenette's head, with the intention of drilling her down into the mat.

The cool queen wasn't groggy enough to just let that happen though, so as she felt that arm wrap around her head Alex herself tried to take advantage of that positioning first, placing her hands on either side of Dawn's waist, before trying to stand up straight and step forward, trying to toss Dawn overhead by lifting her up in a suplex position as she straightened herself up, and then releasing her at the peak of her rise, trying to step forward and toss Dawn over her head and back first into the lower part of the corner.

Lame. Lame was a word that repeated in Dawn's mind. Somebody who just wanted to counter their boredom? Or overly concerned with their public opinion.

In her eyes, Alex's position wasn't dramatically altered by the toe kick due to already bending over. Preparing the DDT, perhaps the blonde can finally bring her opponent out of this mind cocoon and take this match seriously after brushing the mat.

However the bluenette proved to be rather quick witted by melding their bodies together and grabbing the fellow lightweight's waist. As a result, Dawn couldn't just fall back graciously especially with her opponent gaining more leverage over time. She realised that Alex may not be completely dense despite having a flawed opening strategy. Having little time to counter due to hoping the wind would take its course, the Canadian would be inflicted by a throw of a familiar name, the northern lights suplex. "Ahhhhhhhh!" The sudden change of momentum would result in Dawn's back forcing to cushion the impact leaving her immobilised for the time being..
