Re: Angie Samson vs. Bast - Stepping Stone

Most of the time, Bast was content to let Cersei do the talking. That was the way it had always been, after all - Bast did the fighting, her sister handled the business. An ‘arrow and bow’ sort of arrangement, as they liked to call it, and it saved her from the embarrassment of messing up on the microphone. Sticking to their strengths.

Alaina, however, didn't seem content with that. Bast quirked an eyebrow as her future foe stepped up to her, getting into her personal space. She didn’t react for a moment, unsure how to take it, before leaned forward and pressed her forehead against the smaller woman to push her back and assert some dominance. While she might not have been much of a speaker, she knew a powerplay when she saw one.

”I have a good deal of respect for you, Alaina. You’re a worthy champion and an excellent wrestler.” She spoke honestly and clearly, not trying to intimidate the woman with her words. That wouldn’t have worked any way. These were plain facts she was speaking.

”But you can’t defeat me. There was a time when you could, maybe, but that time has passed. The moment you set foot in the ring with me is the moment your title reign ends.” She backed away and gave her a solemn bow. ”I look forward to our contest.”

She gave her opponent a slight nod, then moved to walk past her and make her way out of the ring, as Cersei sneered at the Amazon and followed close behind.
