"I've got this. I've got this. I've got this!" Samantha would chant to herself as followed the hallways backstage towards the LAW Arena. The cameras followed her as she walked towards the gorilla position to get ready to make her entrance. The crowd was already spurring in anticipation of the context. Some cheers could be heard when the image of Sam making her way to the ring appeared on the big screen. Having forged a budding friendship with renowned LAW interviewer and show host Lexy Alan. The lightweight had come to be known as the lady doing most of the heavy lifting in her tag team known as Teal-Tastic. Tonight was her chance to put herself on the map as a singles star! Tonight was her chance to lay claim to the LAW Lightweight Championship!

Samantha Roberts

Samantha came out bouncing to the tune of her theme song! She raised her arms high and took in the reaction with a wide smile on her face as she made her way to the ring!

"The following is a Quarterfinals Lightweight Classic Tournament Match! Making her way to the ring, standing in at 5 feet, weighing 100 pounds! She is one-half of the tag team Teal-Tastic! Saaaaaaaamannnnthaaaaaa Robeeeerrrrrrrrts!"

As the announcer introduced her, Sam would stride her way up the steel steps and hop over the ring post, taking a seat on the top turnbuckle and waving cutely to the audience with both hands. It wouldn't be long before her opponent would make their presence known. Sam was eager to give it her all and make every effort to propel herself to the next round and closer to the lightweight championship!

The time has come for an opportunity for gold for Chika. She needed to win 3 matches in a tournament before getting her chance to get at Rose Gold and win the Lightweight title. She felt off with that woman as her champion, from the dishonorable manner in which she won the belt to her open challenges with bets...everything and anything this woman did made Chika's skin crawl with how un-champion like she was.

The road started tonight with Samantha Roberts, an American lightweight who for all intents and purposes was an admirable wrestler. That wouldn't mean she wasn't going all out, however. She was intending to win by any means necessary.

Chika's theme played as she entered the ramp to the ring, wearing her Raven Armor and having her manager Thirteen by her side, as she calmly greeted the LAW fans in attendance tonight, before entering the ring. Walking to the middle, she would lift her armor upwards with one hand, turning to Sam to intimidate the girl a little.

She passed her armor to her manager at ringside, before doing final stretches before the start of the match:

"Hold nothing back, Sam-chan...", she would tell her rival.

Most women competing in this tournament were doing so to in an effort to restore dignity and honor to the Lightweight Title, to usurp the reign of a mad queen who was bent on ruling the division through facades and shenanigans rather than carry it reputably,. respectfully, and cleanly like much if the LAW roster felt a champion should. In that respect, Chika and Samantha weren't different. They were very much fighting for a same thing. But only one of them could advance. Samantha wasn't exactly one to do her homework. She often followed her heart. But once the bravado and the fanfare of Igarashi's entrance was over, once her eyes met Chika's, Roberts could tell that they both had the same goal.

Sam had only glanced at the blonde-haired manager accompanying Chika. She focused on her opponent throughout the entrance. Brave, yet nervous expression formed on her face as the armor came off. When her foe was finally ready to address her, Sam would pat her face twice and hop in place to loosen herself up. The bluenette stepped forward to offer her hand for a handshake.

"If we hold back here, we don't deserve to dethrone Rose Gold!" Roberts declared aloud. The fans in the front row responded positively.

"Hit me with your best shot! Let's show everyone what real contenders in this division can do!"

Chika found Sam's slightly nervous, but still confident disposition adorable. Maybe in her mind, there was a hint of arrogance that she could not lose to this girl...yet recent matches had shown her that even slightly underestimating her opponents meant doom in the match. As such, Chika decided to not look down on Sam in the slightest. As of right now, in the ring, until the final bell rung, they were equals.

Still, this didn't hurt sportsmanship on the younger woman's side, as Chika confidently gripped her outstretched hand to give her rival a handshake. She nodded at her rival's words, before the two separated, and stood at opposing corners of the ring.

DING DING DING

Both women's journeys in the tournament have officially begun.

Chika would slowly leave her respective corner, and if Samantha did the same, she'd start small, trying to launch her leg low at her legs to hurt it...or potentially trip her foe up!

As the anticipation rose in the air of the arena, so did the nervous energy. The sound of the bell was the only thing needed to kick off the chase towards the right for the 8 lightweights in the tourney to call themselves the best in the division. In contrast to her usually animated, boisterous self, Sam looked down contemplatively as she waited for it. When the bell rang, she left her corner and matched pace with Chika, making eye contact as she did so.

As Roberts met Igarashi in the middle of the ring, her eyes widened as she saw Chika quickly change her stance to fire off a kick!

"Nrgh!" Samantha would lift her leg to block the kick using her shin! The sound of Chika's shin-guard meeting Sam's boot and flesh echoed throughout the arena! Right away it was evident that Igarashi was quite adept at striking, in contrast to Sam who fell more in line with your traditional high-flying LAW lightweight! Fans winced as Sam staggered, yet instead of retreating to regroup or approach Chika differently the way the commentators at ringside believed she should, Sam stomped down with her guarding leg and stood her ground! Sam refused to be tripped!

"My turn!" Roberts would roar to hype herself up as she launched a flurry of kicks of her own! She'd circle the ring counterclockwise as she used her right shin and foot to throw strikes at Chika's left hamstring and bare/exposed side of her midsection! Despite this not being her forte, the bluenette was more than happy to show off her spirit and dedication by meeting Chika in a contest of strikes!

"Tsk", Chika let out, disappointed with herself as her strike hit Sam's shin, not even being good enough to make her foe lose ground. Anticipating her foe's attack, Chika lifted her leg up, blocking her rival's kicks to her leg...

...but not being fast enough to fully block the kick to her side!

"Ugh!"

She managed to bring her arms to her side, but it wasn't enough to fully absorb the strike, Chika wincing at the strikes as she stepped away from her rival, unwillingly losing ground to the younger woman!

Samantha managed to get the better of Chika in that short exchange! Roberts immediately jumped on her opponent's retreat. Where Chika looked to back away and regroup, Sam looked to chase her down with more strikes!

"Yah! Grah!" The spirited, animated lightweight would roar as she launched more kicks! She'd aim for Chika's sides, alternating between them before following up with a European Uppercut! Samantha intended to beat Igarashi all the back to the ropes! If she managed to do so, the bluenette would push her petite frame up against Chika's and reach for her hand to set her up for an Irish Whip!

"Don't tell me that armor was just for show! I'll take it from you if you start slacking, you know!" Sam would tease as she tried to whip her opponent across the ring, seemingly to set her up for something!

Losing ground to Sam prompted the younger woman to immediately increase the intensity of her attack, as she rushed towards Chika with further strikes that the Raven Knight barely had time to block...and no time at all to block Sam's final strike in this situation:

"UGH!", Chika grunted as she was nailed in the jaw by Sam's forearm, almost falling on her back, only to be caught on the ropes that were behind her. Sam would waste no time in following up her offence, teasing Chika as she whipped her into the ropes on the opposite side of the ring!

Rushing back towards Sam, Chika would jump as she came in close aiming her leg for her rival's head to nail her with a Leg Lariat!

Roberts was able to dictate the pace! Commentators at ringside as Sam took control with a torrent of strikes and beat the older veteran fighter back towards the ropes do set her up for an Irish Whip! After throwing Chika towards the ropes on the other side of the ring, Sam would spy manager Thirteen at ringside. The eccentric/energetic lightweight would flash the blonde manager a wink before running towards her opponent! And when she did, she ran straight into a Leg Lariat!

"Gah!" Roberts would groan as Chika's shinguard met the side of her head as she turned it! The crowd would roar in excitement as Sam went down like a chopped tree!

It would take Samantha a moment to find her bearings! She'd try to scramble to her feet after a moment in the hopes of finding Chika and defending herself against whatever offense her tourney opponent had in store!
