Who are the Hellfire Club?

The Hellfire Club is an exclusive establishment, and like any exclusive establishment, it has a proprietor. Arthur Cross, the Gentleman from Blackpool, has spent his whole life believing that anything can be bought or sold, and that every man and woman has a button just waiting to be pressed. In L.A.W., he found a marketplace full of buttons.

What Arthur needed were partners who understood that a match is won long before the bell rings. He found them in Bambi and Thumper. 'Bouncing' Betty Black and Alexandra 'the Great' Grace already made a living out of mind games, isolating the weakest link and breaking her down with taunts, teases, and tricks. Betty brings the speed and the seduction; Alex brings the science and the slams. Arthur brings the money, the leverage, and, when the deal goes sour, the double bitch slap.

Together they run the Club like a game of chess. Betty and Alex are the pieces that move, probe, and sacrifice nothing. Arthur is the black king, protected, untouchable, and content to let everyone else bleed until the board is his.

What do they want?

Everything has a price, and the Hellfire Club intends to collect. Gold, contracts, reputations, the opponents themselves - Arthur sees every one of them as an asset to be acquired. Anyone who refuses to sell will learn that the Club has other ways of closing a deal.

Their aims are mostly focused on the intergender division of LAW, with Arthur seeing that as a fertile ground on which he can build an empire.
