As you would expect of a woman who calls herself ‘Empress’ and expects others to refer to her as such, Luong is a highly self-absorbed individual, convinced of her superiority. She loves to flaunt it over others and takes pride in displaying her martial arts prowess and using it to crush others underneath her heel. While she isn’t as good as she thinks she is, that doesn’t mean much - no one is, and precious few individuals are capable of proving her wrong.
Though she likes to fight, she doesn’t like being hit, and tends to react viscerally when things aren’t going her way and her perception of the world is challenged. She gets angry fast, and while she won’t outright cheat to win a match, she’s not above using dirty tactics if she feels wronged. She will not be satisfied once she holds a grudge against someone until she evens the scores and gets some interest.

Luong was born to the Chun family, a dynasty of martial artists who trace their lineages to the earliest days of Tae Kwon Do and even a little beyond. A naturally athletic and unusually tall woman, she showed aptitude for the family tradition early on. At the age of eight, she was able to hold her own against fighters with twice the age and twice the experience. At 13, she was winning national tournaments. At 16, she was an intercontinental sensation.
As you might imagine, this got to her head slightly. She not only began to see herself as a sort of royalty and lean into her the family’s royalty motif but also grew to enjoy fighting a little too much. Like a drug, she sought better highs than she could get in legitimate fighting arenas, and quickly started dabbling in underground fighting. Here, she could cut loose and develop her fighting style more rawly, and she began to lust for dominating her foes. One night, after a particular hectic fight, one of her fans urged her to sit on her defeated opponent’s face, and she liked the experience so much that she made it her trademark from there on.
In the internet age, however, such things could only stay secret forever. When her father found clips of her matches showing up on porn sites, he was, needless to say, less than pleased and promptly gave her a choice - she could either renounce this style of heinous fighting or find herself disowned and cut off from the family fortune.
Luong choose the former, but it brought with it great problems. While she had accrued a fair bit of money, no legitimate fighting organization in South Korea would take her, and her underground contacts didn’t want the heat she was bringing on them from the authorities.
