Toshiko Ito vs Amy Evans - Apex Qualifier

Despite hitting one of her own moves Toshiko was still in a bad state, but she connected which meant Amy was also doing poorly. It felt like they were on even ground just when Amy was getting an advantage. The ref started counting them out, putting them both at risk of being eliminated before Toshiko finally mustered the strength to get back up and soon was grabbing the wounded lion to make her follow her up. Amy was trying to get back on her feet by herself but followed Toshiko's guiding hands with some heavy breaths. Nothing in her was able to stop Toshiko from placing them in an STO position and kicking her down, falling along with her to make sure she got all of it.

"Uggggh!" Amy groaned, brought to her feet and dropped again, this time on her back instead of her face but her head still ended up bouncing on the mat from the collision, along with her chest and legs shaking when they settled on the floor, showing how the impact had been felt across her body. Toshiko took the next step and went for a pin, trying to end the match there while Amy for the moment remained still. The ref acted quickly seeing Toshiko lay on top of the lion and the assassin seemed poised to take the match at this rate.

Toshiko had locked Amy up and then sent her flying in a loop as she swept out her feet and hit the Daggerfall! Ito had flipped with her until she was in a sitting position next to a folded up Evans, and she kept her hold on the blonde, grabbing and securing her closest leg as she held down her shoulder with her leg as well. She figured the swift pin with the maneuver may be enough to finally put out the girl.

The Twilight Edge sunk deeper into the pin, leaning more of her weight on Amy as she did so.

Amy was down after not one but two of Toshiko's big moves. She was throwing everything she had to try and come back after the powerbomb and Amy could feel her body struggling to even move after the last few seemed to nearly put her down for good. The ref's count continued with little movement from Amy who knew how close she was to losing and trying to get her strength back while Toshiko remained firmly on top, close to winning while the lion was nearly put down.

"Thr-"

Amy finally pushed her arm up breaking the pin and shoving against Toshiko to get her off her. She was still swimming in pain and dizziness from the last few hits but Amy's instincts refused to let her die like that. She knew she could still bring the assassin down, and she was not going to allow Toshiko to beat her like that. Amy still had a lot to give Toshiko for her aggressive attacks in the beginning to let things end now.

Toshiko Ito kept holding Amy down, and then suddenly she was propelled off of her. The Japanese girl fell over onto her side, gritting her teeth behind her mask as she was so close to attaining a victory but had it yanked away so suddenly. Burying her face in the mat, Toshiko let out a low groan, trying to cope with the pain surging through her body and resist the exhaustion that threatened to overtake her. This blonde wasn't staying down, no matter what Toshiko was throwing at her.

But Toshiko had many other tools in her arsenal, even if these ones had fallen short for her. Rolling onto her back with effort, Ito winced and reached over for Evans with an arm. She would rock over onto her front again before locking in a front facelock. It was a simple maneuver, mostly to get a hold of the girl with the hopes of pulling her up. However, the Japanese wrestler's body wasn't cooperating with her. The most that she could do was pull both Amy and herself up to their knees while Toshiko panted loudly, trying to just relax for now to gather her strength for another big maneuver.

Breaking the pin, Amy laid down trying to rest off the fight and the wearing down she had endured trying to beat Toshiko, she felt nothing but exhaustion and soreness from this whole fight but she still felt nowhere close to putting her down. Eventually she was pulled into a front facelock and slowly pulled up, Toshiko was tired as well and could only get both of them back to their knees before she stopped to recover. With the opening she had and her own refusal to ever give up Amy would try to fight from her knees even like this.

Taking the moment to bring her arm up Amy would throw an uppercut aimed for Toshiko's belly. To maintain an attack on her core and make it harder on her to recover or hold her down, she would send a few more body blows Toshiko's way striking at the abs of the assassin and planning to force her to let go or allow her abs to be caved in by the Lion's hammer like punches.

Toshiko was trying to slowly bring herself and Amy up, and as soon as she was able to will herself to get them propped up past their knees, she felt a few blows on her midsection. She grunted and groaned with each punishing blow that shot the air from her. At first, her grip on Amy's head only tightened, wanting to cinch it on harder. But with each subsequent blow, it started to ease up more and more until she couldn't even hold onto Amy at all. She leaned against the girl, taking deep breaths between groans of pain.

Then, mustering her strength, she peeled herself away from Amy and rocked back before firing a stiff forearm directly for her face. The impact she threw behind it and her general state of pain right now would topple her forward onto one hand propping herself regardless. Amy would learn that Toshiko was very much as tough as she was when it come to fighting, and resilient enough to fight back even when she was on the heels of a beating.

Toshiko had started to tighten her hold when the body punches started, attempting to wear Amy down and keep her trapped, but Amy didn't let that happen she started to hit harder and work those exposed abs until she started to feel Toshiko falter under her punches. Eventually she did abandon the hold freeing Amy from the headlock and allowing Amy to straighten her head out, but this just meant that Toshiko was changing what she planned to do, going from holding her to hitting her by throwing a massive forearm to her face.

"Aggggh!" Amy groaned, head rocked to the side and nearly fell over like Toshiko did. It still hurt but compared to how Toshiko was swinging before it felt dull, it was the most encouraging sign that she was actually doing something so far. She had to keep going and as Toshiko recovered Amy grabbed her head and would pull her in and start to throw a forearm to Toshiko's face, throwing her body at her with it and trying to knock Toshiko down with it.

Toshiko had sent the forearm directly into Amy's head, leaning forward and keeping herself propped up with a hand on the mat as she cringed and panted, feeling exhausted, pain-stricken, and desperate to stay in it. And with Amy reeling in pain, Ito was hoping for a moment to collect herself for another big move. However, before she could so such a thing, her head was grabbed and a forearm smashed her directly in the face with great impact. The Twilight Edge fell right back to the mat, folding back at the knees as she winced, her own head feeling rattled.

Ito tried to focus, but the pain was all that she could think of in her dizzied skull while she laid back, putting one hand to her head as she groaned out loud. She was struggling to gain her focus again, but she wasn't able to do anything immediately, leaving her at the mercy of Amy right now.

Attacking again to stop Toshiko she knew that thanks to her own attacks Toshiko's power and defense were faltering. After the big hit she sent Toshiko down with a headache. Normally Amy would take the time to try and crash into Toshiko with a Lionsault but her body had it's own problems just moving, she wouldn't be able to pull it off before Toshiko could recover, so instead of brawling Amy would try to make Toshiko suffer in a way she could get some time to rest. Grabbing Toshiko's legs Amy would try to quickly pull Toshiko into a tight cloverleaf submission hold and start to apply pressure.

It was almost a signature submission from her, taking the legs and bending them as she leaned back, making sure Toshiko had to fight some more while Amy could just hold her down. It wouldn't be easy since her arms still felt like they had been shreeded just trying to block Toshiko's kicks from earlier but she had enough in her to hold down the assassin while letting the submission torture her.

Toshiko was starting to push herself off the mat when she suddenly felt her legs be grabbed by her opponent. Trying to scramble and turn in a way to prevent the hold, knowing roughly what she was trying to plan, she groaned and grunted as she was able to prevent being turned once... twice... but then Amy Evans had managed to twist her over and leaned back, bending her in that cloverleaf.

"Arrrrrrrrrghhhhh.... Hnnn....!" exclaimed Ito in pain, cringing as she was wracked with pain in her legs and back now. She tried to focus though. She needed to if she wanted to get rid of this pain. And then slowly, she would do just that. She turned her body slightly to face the nearest rope and she put a laser sight on it as she began to crawl and reach for it. She slowly made her way. This sort of strength wasn't her strong suit, but she still had plenty of strength in her to try dragging herself towards the ropes, hoping to get that rope break.
