Meeting Your Fans (for Lederface)

"Hah!" As soon as Yukari came charging into range, Astrid knew what to do. Like the jaws of a Venus flytrap, her arms snapped shut around the smaller girl, pulling her in close against her body. One hand coiled tighter around her head, squeezing it against the firmness of Astrid's toned bicep, and burying her face up against the soft flesh of her bosom!

Astrid wasn't normally one to use smothers, at least not consciously. She was far more proud of her strength and physique, and she wrestled a powerhouse style to take advantage of such assets. But she couldn't deny that with wrestling, there inevitably came close contact between the bodies of the two competitors, and some situations like this were bound to happen. Some might have found it awkward, but Astrid didn't care. As long as it was working for her - which, if Yukari's slowing motions were any indication, it was!

"You've given it a good fight," Astrid said, nodding her head in Yukari's direction. "But I don't think you can break this!" And indeed, Yukari couldn't. At last, she went heavy in Astrid's arms, and the blonde released her, letting her slump down against the mat. Astrid kneeled at her side, brushing hair out of her brow and catching her breath, as she waited for Yukari to come to. A smile grew across her face. She might have felt the soreness of her muscles and the sweat dripping down her face, but she couldn't deny the glow of victory!

Yukari in her mind could only think things like "and if we had done ......" or "maybe I could have ........", but all those ideas were dispelled with a simple "we tried. .... "

Sitting by the unconscious girl, Astrid took this time to catch her breath, wiping sweat off her brow. Now, her muscles sore and her chest rising and falling with each pant, Astrid faced an opponent she was proud to have competed against.

Soon Yukari stirred back awake, getting the air back in her lungs. When she came to, she would find that Astrid was still beside her, watching her calmly and carefully. As soon as she realized what was going on, the lightweight bowed her head in shame. Astrid looked back at her with concern, a frown crossing her face. But a moment later, she smiled to Yukari as she leaned in closer, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Don't be sad," Astrid said. "You might not have won, but you did far better than I could ever have expected. You put forth a valiant effort, and you faced not only a woman larger and stronger than you, but the Heavyweight Champion - and you did it without fear. You even left me trying to catch up at times! And that says a lot about you." Patting Yukari's shoulder, Astrid soon drew her hand away, making a thumbs-up. "So keep it up out there, alright? You went the distance, and that makes you a winner in my book."

Yukari would listen to Astrid's words, and thus, somewhat embarrassed, she would say: the truth is that I also seek to have this fight, because soon we will have a fight against members of House of Heels, but according to what I know, we will face Sandy crosswire, Laura Grayson and one other girl who doesn't seem so bad, but really ......... Astrid stayed at Yukari's side, seated on the mat beside her with her hands folded over her knees. She listened along with what she had to say, nodding to her in recognition. "I see, I see..." Knowing that Yukari was headed into a tense match, Astrid could understand why she had been nervous. But after seeing how well the girl had fared against her, Astrid felt reassured that she'd have nothing to worry about.

"Well, you might not have beaten me, but don't take it the wrong way. If I wasn't hard to beat, I wouldn't be Champion!" Astrid laughed at her own joke, but looked back down at Yukari all the same. "In all seriousness, though. You did your best, and you lasted out against me, better than I would ever have thought you could. If you bring that same sort of energy into your match, I'm sure you'll do fine. And I'll make sure to watch so I can cheer you on, okay?"

She also laughed when Yukari mentioned her Jump of the Cat move. "Listen, you did what you needed to make it work. And for better or worse, I don't think there's any rule against it. Don't feel shy about what you need to do." But all the same, Astrid looked to Yukari, and when she saw the bright, hopeful look on her face, Astrid beamed back at her with a warm grin. She was confident now that she'd done what she needed to do.

Well...almost.

There was still one thing left that Astrid knew she needed to attend to before they parted ways. She started to get to her feet, offering a hand to Yukari. "But I suppose we're done here, yeah? Before you go, there's something I wanted to show you."

Yukari upon hearing Astrid's words, she would feel how she was inspired more and she would feel like new, quickly wiping the tears that she had on her face and smiling, and upon hearing that the training was over and that she wanted to show her something, Yukari would agree to follow her to see what it was all about, while she thought about her backpack with the things she had in mind before leaving that gym

Astrid never strayed far from Yukari's side as the two of them left the ring, walking to the locker rooms. She kept looking back at the lightweight all the while, and as Yukari wiped her tears and smiled wider, so too did Astrid feel her own smile growing. She was sure she had made the girl's day; the affection and admiration Yukari held for her showed through. Astrid had only intended to get a quick private workout, the gym all to herself, but she had came away from it making a connection with someone who was overjoyed to finally meet her face to face. With that in mind, Astrid knew what else she could do, just to give thanks to Yukari for all her support.

"Now, don't go telling everyone I did this. This is our secret, yeah? If people find out, I know I'll get swarmed." Coming to her locker, Astrid took a key out of her gym bag and used it to undo the lock on the door. She swung it open, revealing the LAW Heavyweight Championship belt hanging up against the wall - and she took it out, holding it in her hands and kneeling down to Yukari's level to show it to her.

"I take the belt with me everywhere I go to make sure no one steals it when I'm not looking," she explained. "But I figured you'd like to see. You can touch it, if you're careful." Astrid smiled wider just knowing she could share this moment with Yukari. It was the look on her face that told Astrid she'd truly made it as a champion.

Yukari was very happy that Astrid seemed confident with her, so when she watched Astrid approach a locker and mentioned to Yukari not to tell Nadia, she would obviously be more than happy to keep that secret, while she pulled out. something from her backpack, she would finally see what it was that Astrid wanted to show her.

Astrid remembered how excited Yukari had been when she realized she was face to face with the champion, let alone at the prospect of training with her. But even those feelings had to have been dwarfed by the rush she got to find herself looking at the same belt Astrid had won from Linda Halloween; the same belt she wore every time she made her way to the ring. The Norwegian couldn't help but feel her own smile growing wider. No matter who she showed the belt off to, be it fans with backstage passes, kids at charity events, or those attending autograph signings, it never failed to make them smile - and Yukari was no exception. That, she told herself, was why she always tried her best.

"Of course it is!" Astrid said, watching patiently as Yukari ran her hand across the belt's surface. "The belt, and what it means, is important to me. I swore to honor it wherever I go." But she also knew that as a champion, she was an ambassador of LAW to its fans and to the public at large, and she never forgot that.

When Yukari was done, Astrid took the belt back from her, resting it in her lap. With a smile, she nodded to the girl, beckoning her closer to her side. "A picture? Oh, yes, of course! It's my pleasure...why don't you stand right here?"
