Jessica did not really like the fact that Marisa was roaring in her face. The punches were far worse, and they had a deleterious effect on her ears in that they made the ringing in her ears all the worse. Jessica had greater concerns, however, and she quickly recognized that when Marisa seized her with both hands and that portended nothing good for the Violent Violet. She tried to resist the darkhaired psychopath, but the damage that had been done to her proved to be too much. In short order, Jessica was lifted from the mat. Before she had even been thrown down, she was already grimacing. This one was going to hurt.
Just as she predicted, it hurt. A lot. Jessica came crashing down to the canvas, and when she did so, her arms and legs flew to the sides. Jessica hollered out in pain, her eyes wide open for a split second before they closed. Jessica's breathing was slow, and her large chest rose and fell with great effot.

Re: Jessica Wright vs. Marisa Wiltsure
A part of Marissa thought she should go for the pin then, and force herself down as if the world itself was falling on Jessica, to make sure she finally got that accursed first point. Soon, she figured. After one final nail in this coffin.
Pushing herself to her feet, watching all the while to make sure Jessica didn't suddenly gain a second wind, Marissa pulled herself back. Hands soon on the ropes behind her, she'd lean forward, then back, almost bouncing on the ropes but stopping her momentum from being unleashed. Though, it'd soon be let free.
Specifically, the moment Jessica began to move, so Marissa could kick the violet so hard in the ribs it near enough broke Marissa's own foot!

Re: Jessica Wright vs. Marisa Wiltsure
Jessica sensed the movement. Like one of those Native Americans who put their head on the plain to detect herds of buffalo, there were faint rumblings that Jessica could feel, but she could not tell where they were coming from or why the were sending shockwaves through the canvas. All she knew was that they were there, and that was bad news for the Violent Violet. Her breathing was still labored, but she knew that she could not lay here forever. Sooner or later, she was going to have to get up, and get back into this match.
She started leaning up when she was met with a harsh kick to her ribs. Jessica groaned and clutched at them. Any upwards progress she made was immediately stalled...

Re: Jessica Wright vs. Marisa Wiltsure
That kick hurt to the point where Marissa was hobbling instantly after, though such was not unexpected even in the slightest given the force she had put in. Motioning in a semi-circle of sorts, her figure returning back to the starting point from where she had laid that boot, Marissa ducked in as she indeed went for yet another attempt at ending this first, rather hellish round. Rather than simply force herself atop of the violet though, she'd opt to grab both legs, putting them briefly under her arms, before slipping them out and raising them high, her figure now poised as if it had just delivered a powerbomb.
Instead, she'd opt simply for the finish to one; folding Jessica up tightly, her weight baring down on the violets thighs, as she looked to make Jessica's ankles touch her shoulders in a jackknife pin attempt!
"ONE!"

Re: Jessica Wright vs. Marisa Wiltsure
Jessica was breathing hard now. The pain she just went through would have put a lesser woman down for the ten count, she reckoned, and now that she was lying with her back to the mat she wondered how long she would stay down. The recent damage wasn't even the worst, she thought. It was just the sort that would put her down for the count.
TWO!
Jessica grunted. She tried to get her body to move, but nothing was happening. All that she managed to produce was some air coming out of her lips. She gritted her teeth. Jessica knew what was going to happen next.

Re: Jessica Wright vs. Marisa Wiltsure
One down. One to go.
Marissa didn't need to be told that, evidently, as no smile came to her face despite the fact she had now taken the definitive lead in the match. Releasing those legs and letting Jessica fall straight, Marissa pushed herself up to her feet, shaking her arms and legs off as she did so. To give her opponent a rest in a multiple falls match was not a strict rule per-say, but one in her mind that was unspoken. Time would tell if Jessica would repay the favour if such a chance came to her, as Marissa happily took the moment to dust herself off, and assume a ready posture on her feet.

Re: Jessica Wright vs. Marisa Wiltsure
Jessica rolled over, and stared at the canvas. She was not sure what brilliant insight she was going to garner from the white expanse, and no revelations came to her. A drop of sweat beaded on her forehead, and then splashed down. Still nothing. Still no great methods of getting back into this, still no raw fury that would bring with it sheer violence that would carry her through to the final bell. No. The only one who was going to get her out of this mess was herself.
Slowly, she pushed herself off the mat, and stood upright. Jessica wobbled to the side for a second before standing fully upright. Her head was ringing and she was feeling a bit tired from the punishment she had taken. She brought her hands upright once more, silently beckoning Marisa forward, half daring the dark-haired woman to press her advantage.

Re: Jessica Wright vs. Marisa Wiltsure
Jessica didn't look a hundred percent as she stood straight, or rather as straight as she could muster in this predicament, but Marissa considered the fact that Jessica didn't have to yet stand at all. Had she opted to remain seated, she would have likely respected the space, and taken her own time in catching some breath.
But accepting the wordless invite to begin round two by the mere act of Jessica rising, Marissa shot forward again. Her arms up high, seeking the collarbone of her wobbly foe, to pull the violet into a collar-and-elbow of sorts. One that mainly led their foreheads to come together, with the now-leading Brit shooting the violent violet quite the cocky scowl indeed.

Re: Jessica Wright vs. Marisa Wiltsure
Perhaps Jessica was unwise to stand. The wobble was indicative of her physical and mental state. But Jessica would not tolerate staying down. That was an admission of weakness, which was a quiet acceptance of defeat. She was never going to admit that, least of all in a ring with an opponent there. Jessica boot ground into the canvas. It didn't matter if she was ready or not, because Marisa was coming for her now. And Jessica was going to rise to the challenge.
Jessica accepted the collar-and-elbow lock up. Their foreheads touched. That was a sign that something was about to go down. Jessica pushed for all she was worth, which was not much as she was rocked. But she was still going to try, damn it.

Re: Jessica Wright vs. Marisa Wiltsure
Marissa was a little surprised that Jessica had such strength quickly return to her, in the form of a powerful shove against the rather unprepared Brit. Still, she was not going to let her advantage go because of some meagre defiance by her strong foe, as she soon opted to step with the tide rather than against it. In term, bringing them perhaps further back than Jess envisioned. Namely, pulling her own back to those ropes.
"Stay...down..!" The confidence of the Brit beginning to shine through, as the moment she had some recoil from the ropes, she'd seek to plant a knee up and into Jessica's gut. Of course, given the violet already had the strength to shove her back, a part of her sensed such a strike would not be easily landed.
