"Sh...shimatta..."
Kyo didn't often swear. It was a personality trait that a lot of people picked up on, and seemed to reinforce his image as a soften spoken, courteous warrior, raised in the genteel traditions of aristocracy. In that regard, he took after his kendo champion mother: his wrestler father had had a colorful lexicon of swear words that he emploted liberally, in and out of the ring.
But in this instance, the lingering pain in his shoulder was enough that he couldn't help but curse. He rolled away from Valley, clutching his shoulder, face burning red at the fact that he had already lost a second fall to her. The score was now two nil, and he was rapidly trailing behind. Not for the first time tonight, the thought crossed Kyo's mind that he simply could not defeat this woman.
He banished the thought. Grimacing, he rolled up to his knees. Valerie was holding back, recharging. Waiting for him to make the first move.
And so he obliged her and sprang forward. His arm was still hurting, and would probably be out of commission for a few minutes. So he improvised, rotating his whole body to swivel around and deliver a kick to his opponent's chest, face or midsecrion-- he wasn't particularly aiming, he just wanted to catch Valerie by surprise.

Re: Valley Doll III vs Kyo Akamatsu — Iron Person Match
God, Kyo was so cool.
Most guys in this situation would be ready to give up. She’d just put him down, twice, in back-to-back victories. He was battered and broken, looked like a total mess. She’d put him through hell, and a reasonable man, not even a coward, would see that this match was all but done and throw in the towel. At the very least, it would’ve hampered their spirit—some hesitation. Something.
Not Kyo. He stood up, gathered himself and came straight towards her, full steam ahead. It was kind of hot, if she were being honest. She was still going to put him down, but…
She moved in to meet, raised her arm, and swung it at his head, wanting to hit him with a lariat to put him back on the mat, but Kyo was just a touch quicker on the draw this time - he swiveled out of the way and left her swinging at air. She stumbled forward, spun about and-
A kick to the face, right on the bridge of her nose. The sheer alacrity of it took her off guard more than the pain, and she stumbled back a couple of steps before regaining control. The moment she did, she was back on him again, whipping her arm out wide to hit him with a backfist to the jaw.

Re: Valley Doll III vs Kyo Akamatsu — Iron Person Match
Kyo had seen more than a few matches of the senior Valley Doll in action (including all of her bouts against his father, in preparation for this match). The woman had been a terrifying striker, and her Pele kick was the stuff of legend. Kyo was no slouch in the strikes department either, but it would have been the height of audacity for him to compare himself to her. Or, for that matter, to copy one of her moves.
All the same, Kyo felt himself slipping into an almost learned rhythm as he rotated his body and snapped a kick up, hammering his boot right into the bridge of Valerie's nose.
His heart leapt a beat as his blow hit home, actually staggering Valerie backwards. Before he could follow up, however, Valerie was suddenly moving quickly as well. In a blur of motion, the back of her fist crunched into his jaw.
He grunted in pain, the blow sending him stumbling sideways. He was determined not to lose this contest, though:.his drunken stumble turned onto a spin, his palm straightening into a blade shape as he whirled around,.trying to swipe at Valerie's forehead or chest with a forearm chop!

Re: Valley Doll III vs Kyo Akamatsu — Iron Person Match
God, Valerie never did like being kicked. You would think, being trained by the elder Valley Doll and all, that she would’ve gotten used to it, like being kicked was something you just built up and immunity to over time, but no. She could very much attest to the opposite. No matter how many times her mother thumped, and oh were there so many times, it just never sucked any less.
Valerie could also say that Kyo’s kicks were top-notch - maybe not as good as her mother’s but definitely in the upper echelon and good enough to ring her bell. Her return fire was more an act of desperation than anything, knowing she needed to lash out with something.
It hit. A solid hit, too. Valerie was eager to move in afterwards, thinking she might have a shot at following up with something substantial, but she paid for that exuberance when she walked face-first into another chop, right on the bridge of her nose.
She’d managed to come back from the kick, but this blow was enough to push her over the edge. She stumbled over to the ring side of the ring and shook her head, too stunned to throw anything back for the moment.
