Arthur didn’t know exactly what Alex would do when he moved away, but he figured the setup was good enough for her to work with. They’d been working together long enough that he had a good sense for what she could and couldn't take, how long she would need to recover in any given situation, and he felt that one was timed out just right.

With Kyo being floored, Arthur looked on with folded arms and his best shit-eating grin, trying not to look as satisfied as he felt. Alex was already moving on, grabbing him by the hair and forcing him to stand as the referee poked her head under the ropes to chastise them, but he had to get a few words in.

”Eyes on the prize, boyo.” He leaned in. ”Didn’t your old man teach you to focus?”

Alex wouldn’t give him the chance to reply, even if he wanted - in the next moment, she spun about and sent him rolling into the ring, then hopped up on the apron and promptly followed after him.
