Dusting Off: Angela Belti vs. Alaina Sanders-Haines

”Mom! Mom!” Desdemona came around the ring with arms flailing and worry written across her face. While this wasn’t the first time she’d seen her mother rocked, she couldn't recall seeing her getting sent out that hard, and definitely not when she was at ringside. ”Mom, are you WHOA!”

She had just started to get close when Alaina came sliding out of the ring, crashing into her mother feet first and knocking her hard into the barricade. Angela cried out from both impacts, then fell down to her knees, with one hand planted on the floor and the other nursing her aching back.

Dizzy, for her part, stepped back with her hands up, giving the Amazon plenty of space. ”Uh, hey there! Don’t mind me, just watching, just watching…”

Alaina rolled out of the ring and stood near Angela looking over at someone from the crowd standing there? "Who the hell are you?" Alaina asked. She had been ambushed ringside and backstage enough in her career to be cautious.

Alaina kept an eye on the young woman and bent down, grabbing Angela around the shoulder and between the legs. Alaina was going to try to deadlift Angela up then slam her back down in the ground!

Inside the ring the official was starting to count the count out. "ONE!"

”She’s my daughter.” Angela answered that question as she worked her way up. ”She’s not a factor, don’t worry. Keep it coming.”

Alaina did, in fact, keep it coming, as she moved over and scooped Angela up, lifting all 200 plus pounds of in a dominating display. So impressive that Angela almost felt bad ruining it…but she did, anyway.

As her opponent lifted her up, Angela kicked her legs and slid off, trying to come down behind her. At the same time, she placed her hands on Alaina’s shoulders and used her falling weight to aide her as she thrust forward, looking to show the Amazon into the same spot on the barricade that she’d hit herself just a few seconds ago. It would not be a pleasant time, she could say that from experience.

All while the referee’s count continued to increase. “Two!”

Alaina lift Angela up and things then began to work against Alaina. Angela pushed off and landed behind the amazon, shoving her forward into the barricade! "UGH!" Alaina groaned as she crashed into it, doubling over and hobbled. She didn't outright flip over it at least. Alaina tried to turn to face Angela, trying to prepare herself for offense that she knew was likely coming... but she had no clue what was going on behind her leaving her at a distinct disadvantage.

See, this was why Angela loved wrestling with headgear, it was great for keeping sweat out of your eye. She was perspiring more than her fair share with this match, already taking a serious toll on her body, but she absolutely loved it, and she could tell the crowd was starting to feel it, too. More and more cheers were going her way, and while she’d never have the majority of the audience on her side, it was clear that she was winning over some fans. Not an easy thing to do with such an established talent opposing you. She couldn't have asked for a better way to start things off.

And she couldn't have asked for much better of an opportunity here, either, with her opponent staggering back off the barricade. Angela moved forward, seized Alaina by the head with a front facelock, draped her arm over the shoulder and proceeded to lift her up, almost as if she were going for an inverted suplex.

Instead of following through all the way, however, Angela let go of Alaina at the mid-way point of the move, leaving her to flip through the air and come down hard on the apron of the ring, sending her back crashing into the edge.

Alaina felt herself grabbed by the larger wrestler and lift up. She tried to struggle and wriggle free but instead she was sent crashing down as her lower back smashed right into the corner of the apron! "AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Alaina howled as she crumpled to the mat in a heap! She was the one being out maneuvered on the outside and she felt control of the match entirely slip away with that brutal impact on the apron. She was on her back weakly kicking the ground in pain and trying to figure out how she could come back from this although currently her momentum was broken, almost like her lower back!

Angela fell to her knees after the suplex, with the toll of the match weighing down on her all of the sudden. Wrestling was Alaina was taxing work, even for a woman with her power, and she was feeling every hit she’d taken in this match. There was no getting away from it.

But she was okay now, getting by with a good shot, especially if Alaina’s cry of anguish was anything to go by. But it wouldn’t mean much at all if she didn’t capitalize on it.

Angela mustered herself and slid into the ring, ending the count and dragging her opponent along with her. She pulled the Amazon to the center, the drop down on top of her, pulled her leg up, and went for a pinfall, hoping she could get a good gauge for just how winded Alaina was.

The suplex had devastated Alaina for sure, but the time it took for Angela to get her back in the ring was also time for Alaina to recover. As the official counted the amazon was motionless and right at the same time the official's hand hit the mat for a two count Alaina let out a war cry, arching her back to bridge out of the pin! She thrust up as abruptly as she could, hoping to send Angela rolling off of her!

Alaina slumped back to the canvas on her back, trying to sit up and make her way to her feet looking determined to fight her way through the pain.

And up she came.

Angela didn’t think for a second that she would score the win there, but the fact that she managed to 2/3s of the way was encouraging. In her experience, that was a good sign that she was on the fast track to winning things, and that all it take was one move - one, big move - to clench it.

But to get there, she would have to work Alaina down a little bit more. And since they were already on the ground, she had some good ideas on that front.

Angela rose up to her knees, pushed Alaina over, and sat down on her back, facing her knees. She reached over, grabbed her opponent by the ankle, and pulled her leg up, attempting to bend her back in a single-leg variant of the infamous Boston Crab. The more she worked over that back, the more she could take the power away from the Amazon, whittling away at her best asset.

Alaina hit the mat and grunted, pushing herself up on her hands but it was too late. Angela was already folding her over and putting her in a Boston crab! Alaina groaned as her aching back was targeted once more but the adrenaline and desperation may have been just what she needed. Alaina had quite a powerful lower body and spread her hands out on the mat. She screamed as she exerted herself looking to power her legs straight and flip Angela over onto her back!
