Sheila Chihara [D] vs. Ashley Lucas

Sheila was a resilient girl, with more toughness than sense. Coming from a history of backyard wrestling, she had gotten plenty of bang-ups in her time, but she'd managed to shrug them all off in time, bouncing right back into the action. Yet she was still human, and there was only so much she could take - and when she took a vertical suplex that planted her straight into the ground, Sheila definitely felt it!

The impact laid her out flat, with her limbs splayed around her - leaving her wide open for her opponent to follow up. And indeed, Ashley got to work, dragging Sheila back up to her feet. She was still groggy and groaning as she was lifted back up vertically, trying to adjust to the new position she found herself in. But soon, she noticed herself being pulled up higher - and by the time Sheila came to her senses, she was already being pulled up to Ashley's shoulders!

At once, a switch flipped in her head, as she realized the fate about to befall her. A small yelp left her, knowing that if Ashley landed this move, it was going to hurt. But Sheila wasn't about to let that happen - and her mind quickly kicked into survival mode, as she knew just how to get out of it! Gritting her teeth as she tried to stretch herself just far enough to pull it off, Sheila attempted to bend backward as she squeezed her legs around Ashley's head. At the same time the blonde was prepared to throw her downward, Sheila would try to pull her off her feet with a hurricanrana!

Ashley's attempt to set Sheila up for one of her signature throws, a Gutwrench powerbomb known as the Studley Bomber, were successful as she was able to pick up Sheila by the waist and hoist her up to her shoulders to prepare her for a powerbomb. Though before Ashley could seal the deal and slam Sheila down onto the mat her opponent would sense the danger she was in and put a stop to it. Ashley felt Sheila's legs tighten around her head, then she felt herself get pulled forward and she realised too late what Sheila intended to do "Wah!"

Before she could do anything to stop it Ashley would be thrown down, slamming onto the mat and meeting the same fate that she had planned for Sheila. One second Ashley had been prepared to devastate Sheila with her signature and the next second she was lying on the mat with Sheila above her, never a good position to be in.

Sheila was starting to get to the end of her rope. The match was wearing down on her, and she had learned from experience that Ashley could really hit hard. While Sheila was swift, moving around her and launching her attacks with high speed and unpredictability as well as packing a punch of her own when she put her mind to it, when Ashley got the chance to fire back at her, it could knock the wind out of the rookie's sails. Her stamina was drained more and more with each hit Ashley landed, and now she was setting up a powerbomb. Sheila knew she couldn't afford to eat this one - and she wasn't about to, either!

Luckily, she managed to get her legs around Ashley's head, and that set things in motion for her to turn this to her advantage. Sheila arched her back, twisting herself backward to leverage her weight - and Ashley was sent falling backward, going crashing into the mat with Sheila on top of her!

The crowd let out a cheer at such an upset from the Young Lioness. Sheila felt the tingles of pride rise in her, as she let go of the blonde's head and rolled aside to push herself back up on her hands and knees. She looked up toward the stands with a grin on her face, raising a fist in triumph. But Sheila knew she couldn't be done here - now that Ashley was down, it was time for her to follow up.

She crawled toward the ropes on all fours, knowing she couldn't waste the time it took to get to her feet. But as the adrenaline rose in her she began moving quicker and with more purpose. Sheila soon found her place at the edge of the ring, and she lifted herself up onto the ropes, turning back around to face Ashley. There, letting out a battle cry, she hurled herself off the ropes, turning herself to connect with an elbow drop onto her opponent!

As Ashley laid underneath Sheila following her Hurricana the blonde was preparing to have to kick out from a pin, but Sheila instead crawled away towards the ropes. Ashley took a moment to rest, if Sheila was crawling away then she wouldn't need to worry about a follow-up attack for at least a few seconds "Huff... haah..." Ashley didn't intend to stay down forever though, she used her elbows to prop herself up and look around, then her eyes burst open as she saw that Sheila had managed to get all the way up to the top rope.

Without warning her opponent would take flight, falling down towards Ashley and driving her elbow right into the blonde's chest "AUGH!!!" Ashley's body would buck from the impact and her lungs would be emptied from the elbow that stabbed into her chest "Ungh..." she groaned, writhing in pain underneath Sheila. In her current state she was in no position to stop whatever Sheila wanted to do next.

Sheila could have pinned Ashley if she wanted to, but she decided not to tempt fate. She had just pulled off a counter when Ashley had been dominating, after all, and she knew it'd be a risk trying to end the match at this point, especially when her own stamina was less than perfect coming off of both a headscissor and a vertical suplex. Even if Sheila had managed to dodge the culminaton of Ashley's attack, it didn't make what she hadn't been so lucky in avoiding hurt any less. If she wanted to bring Ashley down, Sheila knew she'd have to work harder for that.

But she had a plan - and as she saw the ropes, she knew it was time to bring in the aerial offense she excelled at. Though she felt sore, she could feel the pain grow less and less the closer she got to the ropes, taken over by the thrill of knowing what was soon to come. Grabbing onto the ropes, she pulled herself up, and a moment later, she threw herself down on top of her opponent, her elbow extended and pointed right for her chest!

Sheila felt Ashley deflate beneath her. She panted a few times, her weight sinking down over the blonde as she took a moment to plan her next move. That had gone off easily enough, and it had boosted Sheila's self-confidence in the process. If it worked the first time, she felt even more encouraged that her next move would go off without a hitch - and if she was making a comeback, it was high time that she made it count.

First, though, Sheila would need to get things set up. Summoning the energy into her sore legs, she planted her feet against the mat and rose up, grabbing onto Ashley's arm to pull her up with her. Once both were on their feet, Sheila would swing herself to the side, going to whip Ashley into the ropes. Hopefully, she'd stay there, which would give Sheila the chance to go for the big finish!

In a very short amount of time Ashley had found herself on the short end of this matchup, flattened underneath Sheila after the girl landed her elbow drop on Ashley's chest. Before she could do something to turn her situation around she would end up getting yanked up to her feet and whipped at the ropes. When Ashley hit the ropes she would grab onto them to stop herself from rebounding off of them, panting as she hung loosely from them. Ashley lamented how poor the situation was right now; she was losing to a rookie!

That being said she could use this situation to her advantage, an excitable rookie like Sheila probably wanted to go for something flashy, so if Ashley pretended to be really vulnerable then there was a chance that she could trick Sheila into letting her guard down in overconfidence. She decided to try that out, staying in one spot with her head drooping down. At the very least the audience seemed to think that she was done for, which they would show by egging Sheila on to finish it.

As Ashley landed slumped in the corner, and Sheila heard the chants and cheers, a tingly sensation started to go through her body. She looked up at the fans with a grin. Could it be? Was she this close to winning her very first match on the main roster? She'd had matches with other Young Lionesses, and back in her backyard days, but none as big as this, and especially not against an opponent on Ashley's level. Yet here she was, inches away from taking it home! She was excited enough to simply be here and to make such a step forward in her career, but actually winning was another level entirely!

Sheila knew that everyone was watching her now, and she had the opportunity to make her first win in LAW a memorable one. Perhaps the excitement was going to her head, but either way, she couldn't hold back now. Ashley was wide open, and Sheila saw her chance! The soreness in her legs seemed to fade as the rookie took to the ropes, climbing up to the top. The excitement was so much stronger!

Standing atop the top rope, Sheila looked out on the stands, hearing the audience send up a cheer for her. There, settling her sights on Ashley's beaten form, Sheila gave one last battle cry before she hurled herself off the ropes, coming flying straight toward her opponent. She kicked out her legs, planning on coming down onto Ashley's shoulders. She'd been practicing this move for some time, and this was just the right place to put it to the test!

As Ashley hung to the ropes she could hear the crowd cheering Sheila on as the rookie stood atop the top rope, ready to finish Ashley off. Ashley kept a close eye on the girl as she played dead, though even if she hadn't the battle cry Sheila gave was enough of an indication that a big move was coming. As Sheila took flight Ashley would suddenly drop her act and come back to life, she had been prepared to catch Sheila on her shoulders but it seemed that her opponent had intended to land on her shoulders anyway. Funny how that worked out.

Guessing that Sheila intended to perform some kind of Hurricana-type move Ashley would move quickly, hoping that Sheila would be momentarily shocked from being caught by Ashley. Ashley would reach up to grab Sheila by the neck, before attempting to push on her neck while falling down into a sitting position, intending to slam Sheila down on her shoulders with her finisher; an Electric Chair Driver that she had named the Bitch Drop "HAAAAH!!!" If she landed the move she would keep Sheila in that position, hoping to keep her down for a 3 count.

This was it, she thought. Sheila had been practicing her skills on her fellow trainees, and in recognizing where she excelled and how to use her momentum to her advantage, she had been able to pinpoint the perfect finishing move for her style - the poisonrana! Now, though, it was time for her to put it to the test, and more than anything else, Sheila was eager to be showing it off for the first time in front of an audience! It excited Sheila that she was this close to victory in her first match - but it meant even more that she could showcase her new moves in the process!

As she did with many things, however, Sheila had rushed into this apparent finish with blind, stubborn bull-headedness. To her credit, it hadn't helped that Ashley was lying in wait, but Sheila was so certain that the blonde was down that she could never anticipate her opponent suddenly rising from the mat. And yet, that was exactly what happened - no sooner than Sheila had landed on her shoulders, Ashley locked her in place, getting to her feet!

In seconds, Sheila's expression changed from wide-eyed eagerness to a look of pure shock. What had been a moment of triumph for the Australian girl had seen a swift reversal, and now she was at the mercy of the very woman she had her sights set on beating. She barely had any time to process what was happening as she was lifted even higher, her neck caught up in her foe's grasp and her body folding forward - and before she knew it, she was being hurled straight down, where she came crashing into the mat!

Sheila cried out as she was swung through the air, but her voice abruptly went silent as she slammed into the mat, the air knocked out of her lungs. Her vision went dark, and her body was still, her rear pointed up in the air with her legs in Ashley's grasp. All that could escape her was a low groan, and even as the ref kept counting, she didn't budge.

"Two!!"

"Three!!!"

DING DING DING

With that the match was over and Ashley had won. It was far from an easy victory though, as Ashley released Sheila and let her fall to the mat she had to resist the temptation not to fall down with her. She had just won, so she had to stand tall. She made her way back to her feet and pounded a fist into the air, earning a shower of cheers from the audience who applauded her for her victory. Ashley felt good as they celebrated her, winning always did feel good, but it didn't feel right to take all the credit for the match the audience had just been amazed by.

Ashley would turn to Sheila and extend a hand down towards the girl "You okay? That was a real close one." Ashley's words were far from false praise, she felt pretty wiped out from the beating she had taken by the rookie, and she was certain that had the Poisonara actually landed then Sheila would be the one standing victorious right now. If Sheila accepted Ashley's hand then she would pull her up to her feet and raise her hand into the air, she may have lost but Ashley believed she had earned applause all the same.
