Bethany Hunter vs. Hikaru Sawazaki - Rise Up!

After her failed attempt to powerbomb Hikaru, Bethany rolled over onto her back, lying flat against the mat. This gave Hikaru an opportunity to attack as she went towards the ropes, using them as springboard to launch herself upwards. She came crashing down onto Bethany with a springboard elbow drop, bringing down her elbow onto Bethany's chest.

"UUGHHH!!!" Bethany gasped out in pain as she took the elbow drop, left breathless by the impact. This left her considerably weakened and open for more attacks from Hikaru.

Hikaru saw Bethany's reaction to the springboard elbow and she felt like she was in a position to go big or go home! Getting back up Hikaru sprinted towards the ropes, climbing up and turning to face Bethany. She took deep breath as she jumped up into the air leaping at Bethany as she tried to come crashing down on top of her with a frog splash! Hikaru had never been in a match she felt so confident about, so good about. Was that possibly he key she was missing before in her other matches?

Still reeling from the elbow drop, Bethany remained on the mat as Hikaru went towards the corner, climbing up before leaping up into the air, performing a frog splash. Unable to move away, she took the whole weight of her opponent, which caused her to be totally shaken by the impact, wind knocked out of her.

"OOOGHHH!!"

Left wheezing on the mat, Bethany became an easy mark for Hikaru, who was free to go for a pinfall attempt.

Hikaru had Bethany down and indeed she was hooking a leg while laying across her chest to go for a pin! Bethany seemed stunned by the big elbow so it would be remiss of Hikaru not to try to take advantage of it!

"ONE!"

In the back of her mind she couldn't help but feel a rush of adrenaline. She felt hyped. Was this it? Her first LAW win? She knew Bethany was a tough, technical lady. She likely wasn't done. Still, Hikaru had controlled the tempo of the match, telling herself to remain calm and be smart about things should Bethany kick out.

Struggling to breathe, Bethany sensed that Hikaru was on top of her, going for a pinfall attempt. She tried to regain her bearing, hoping to muster enough strength to kick out, but the count continued. Was this her defeat?

"TWO!"

Driven her her refusal to lose, she forced herself to kick out, breaking the pin when the referee was about to drop her palm for the third and final count. The pin was broken, and the referee stopped her count.

"Erghh... n-not done yet, urgh..." Bethany grunted as she would try to shove Hikaru off of her in order to regain her composure. Still having difficulty to breathe, she needed to get back up before Hikaru could take advantage of her current state.

Hikaru felt Bethany kick out once more and Hikaru needed a bit of time to catch her own breath! Getting back up to her feet she backed off, crouching at the ready. Hikaru would circle Bethany and lunge in once more, trying to tie up Bethany in a grapple! Hikaru knew this was a gamble given Bethany's technical ability but she felt like she had to prove herself! Doing this instead of playing to her strengths may have been a mistake however although Hikaru was oblivious to this fact!

Once again grappling with Hikaru, Bethany would try to overpower her in this grapple by bringing her right leg around Hikaru's left before attempting to trip her down onto the mat with her leg. Hopefully, this would allow her to send Hikaru crashing onto her back so that she could try straddling her, going for a schoolgirl pin.

Hikaru felt her leg get stuck and she fell down hard onto her back! Hikaru was taken by surprise and before she knew it the referee was counting as Hikaru was rolled up for a pin!

"ONE! TWO!"

Hikaru groaned and thrust her legs back up, kicking out right after two. Bethany knew how to get her stuck in compromising positions, proving that she was able to swing the tide of the match with relative ease. Hikaru had to be smart from here on out, and with that in mind she did her best to try to scramble to her feet once again.

Pinning Hikaru down with a schoolgirl pin, Bethany listened to the referee counting for the pin, but Hikaru managed to kick out at two. Clicking her tongue, Bethany would get herself off of Hikaru and get herself back up onto her feet.

Hoping that she could get backup before Hikaru, Bethany would try to nail a kick right into her belly, hoping that this would knock the wind out of her lungs, giving her enough chance to launch her next attack on her later. She would try to secure her chance by grabbing Hikaru's head and locking her in a front facelock!

Hikaru rose to her feet slowly and before she could even take stock of the situation she was struck with a hard kick! She coughed and doubled over, stuck in her opponents front face lock! Reaching up to struggle against the hold she failed to pry herself free. Feeling the match slipping away Hikaru knew she had to act. Again she was desperate, which was more familiar territory to her given her track record in a LAW ring. Hikaru tried to grab Bethany around the waist, setting her feet. From here Hikaru was trying to flip Bethany over to counter with a northern lights suplex!
