Middleweight Championship Match: Megumi Mutoh vs Tina Armstrong

Tina was free for a time, but it was a temporary relief! She fell down and tried to get her arms out to brace herself but she smashed off the mat face first! "Oomph!" She groaned as she shook her head. Tina tried to spread her arms out to brace herself, pulling her legs in and kick them out to try to mule kick Megumi off of her. It wouldn't hurt Megumi much but Tina just wanted to be in control of her body again. She couldn't let Megumi run her like this, she had to free herself and show Megumi that she could hang with her from a technical standpoint.

Megumi managed to bring Tina down after pulling her legs from under her, but before she could do anything to deal some damage on the downed champion, she took a mule kick into her stomach, causing her to stagger back. "Guh!!" She winced as she was forced to distance herself from Tina, which would allow her to recover.

Still, Megumi would try to regain her footing so that she could move forward, approaching Tina so that she could grab her by her head, pulling her back up on her feet once more. She planned to slip her arms under Tina's armpits, looking to lock her up in a full nelson in preparation for a dragon suplex.

Tina was starting to get up when Megumi made her way back to help her up. As Tina was grabbed from behind she let out a scream, using her arm strength to push down on Megumi's grip, trying to power her way out of the full nelson! She also stepped a leg around one of Megumi's to hook it and prevent any kind of lifting attempt! "I.... am.... a good..... champion!" Tina shouted even though she was very worn out. She was on a mission to prove her win over Tracy wasn't lucky, and that her tournament run wasn't a fluke. Tina was determined and that was something Megumi was going to find out if she hadn't already!

Putting Tina in the full nelson, Megumi prepared herself to lift her up to throw her over with a dragon suplex, but Tina managed to stop her from doing that by hooking one of her legs around her own, preventing the former Wrestle Angel to perform the suplex. Hearing Tina's outburst, Megumi took a second to process it before she replied, "Of course, there's no doubt about it." Still, just because she couldn't suplex her opponent, it didn't mean she couldn't do anything else.

"But I'll be the better champion, much better than you..." Megumi added before she attempted to fall forward, bringing Tina with her as she would try to have the current middleweight champion land onto the mat chest and face first, and with Megumi on her back, Tina would certainly take some damage from this.

"Ngh..... bullshit...oomph!" Tina groaned as she fell face first to the mat, unable to stop herself! She kept trying to fight through the pain to power her elbows down and break the hold but that was getting harder to do after taking a fall like that. She tried using the pain and desperation to fuel her strength as best she could but she wasn't sure if it was helping.

Despite falling face first into the mat, Tina still showed her defiance towards Megumi, and the former Wrestle Angel couldn't help but be impressed by this. But, she wasn't here to be impressed, but to defeat Tina and take the title for herself. With Tina being on her stomach, the Combat Genius would take one of her legs and place her ankle between her thighs. She would position herself on Tina's back as she would reach out for Tina's head, grabbing it and pulling it back, subjecting her to a painful STF submission hold.

"Come on, Tina... don't tell me this is all you're made of..." Megumi tried to get a rise out of the middleweight champion as she would go for the two-pronged attack, one at Tina's leg and the other at her head as she continued subjecting her to the STF.

Tina groaned as her leg was positioned by Megumi and she knew what was coming. The champ tried to reach out and grab hold of Megumi's hands before they were able to clasp together! "No! No way!" Tina said, using her strength to keep Megumi's hands apart and try to keep pulling them further apart! Tina was furious with herself for the poor show and was channeling it into her already impressive strength! If Megumi wanted to find out just how driven and intense Tina could be she was about to find out!

"Rrghh..." Megumi groaned as she was unable to clasp her hands together thanks to Tina keeping them apart. She had to admit that the current middlewight champion possessed such a strength that others could only dream of, but she was facing against the Combat Genius Megumi Mutoh, and she needed more than strength to take her down.

So, rather than putting Tina in the STF, she would try another approach. She would pull her hands away from Tina's grasp before she attempted to grab Tina's head so that she could bring her head down into the mat, face first to stun her!

Tina kept herself from being stuck in a hold, that was good. However, Megumi wrenched her hands free from Tina's grasp and smashed her face into the mat! Tina groaned and kicked, but balled up her fists. "RAAAAHHHHHHH!" She shouted, her head picking back up as she had an intense look on her face! She balled up her fists and shook them, the smashing of her face against the mat hurt but seemed to serve only to fire her up! With that Tina pushed herself up with her arms and tried to arch her back to fling Megumi off of her!

"Do you think that is going to stop me?! Do you think that little of me Megumi?" Tina said as she continued to fire herself up rising to her feet while she turned to face Megumi.

Tina made quite a good showing that Megumi was astonished by her endurance. Rather than be stunned after having her face bashed onto the mat, she proceeded to buck under Megumi before throwing the former Wrestle Angel off of her. "Guh!" She winced as she fell to her side. She would quickly get herself back onto her feet as she continued observing Tina, who also got herself back onto her feet.

"Of course not..." Megumi said, hopping on the balls of her feet as she braced herself for another clash with her opponent. "Against you, I can't help but go all out..." Then, she would get herself into a stance before rushing over to the champion, looking to perform a feint by pretending to try to lock up with her, while in reality, she would try to move around her, grabbing one of her arms to twist it as well as to kick at one of her legs so that she would fall onto her knees, giving Megumi more leverage over her.
