Pain radiated through Ramza's back as he remained splayed out on the canvas, lungs protesting. Before he could catch his breath properly, firm hands latched onto his shoulders, yanking him upright and pushed him in a kneeling position.
His golden eyes widened as he registered what was happening. Not fast enough.
THUD.
The first strike landed squarely on his right shoulder joint, a dull explosion of agony that made him grit his teeth. His arm twitched involuntarily.
THUD THUD THUD.
More followed rapidly, each one sending fresh waves of discomfort cascading down his limb. Ramza's jaw clenched tighter as he tried to remain stoic through the assault, though the occasional grunt escaped regardless. Desperately looking for an escape, he reached blindly behind him before finding Risako's leg. Hooking an arm behind her knee, he pulled hard, hoping to send her flat on her back.
