"JJ" Janella Johnson vs Karen Gale - Standard Match

Things were going from bad to worsen a hurry! JJ was on the ground when Karen mounted her and pulled her head back locking in the camel clutch! JJ let out a yelp and shout of pain as she frantically kicked her feet against the mat letting out another loud howl after a moment. She was stuck and in pain, reaching her hands up to grab at Karen's trying to grab hold and pry them off her chin! Her arms flexed and she was giving it her all howling again but as she exerted herself against Karen's grip strength vs. strength!

Karen was breathing through clenched teeth now as she tried to hold onto the camel clutch, with JJ managing to get her arms free and began grabbing at the Maori's wrists. The two women's muscles were on full display now as Karen stretched away at JJ, and JJ resisted.

"Stubborn..." Karen hissed: it was as much a compliment as it was a curse. The ref dropped down next to JJ, and asked if she gave up.

At the sidelines, Kyo slapped at the mat. "JJ! Crawl to the ropes or yank in her wrists to unbalance her! You can escape this!"

"Mind...you own business, loverboy!" Karen snapped back at Kyo even as she fought to keep JJ under control.

JJ began rocking herself back and forth as much as she could while pulling at Karen's wrists in different directions trying to fully unbalance Karen. JJ was thrashing now, trying to do what Kyo said to pull and power her way to freedom out of Karen's hold! It was easier said than done but JJ felt like she could do it if she kept working at it just a bit more...

"Ggggh...." Karen was really struggling now to hold onto JJ now as the American began to twist and thrash hard in her grip. JJ was now following Kyo's advice, yanking hard on her wrists. Karen soon found herself struggling to maintain her balance even as she wrenched back on JJ's chin. "Just...give...up--""

Suddenly, JJ wrenched hard, and Karen gave a yelp as she was yanked over JJ's head, brought flipping down onto her back! She grunted from the impact, momentarily stunned, as the crowd let out a cheer at JJ's tenacious escape...

JJ got back up to her feet shaking her head and trying to get rid of the lingering pain of the hold. She grit her teeth and moved back towards Karen looking to grapple with her and slam her with knee strikes to soften her up. JJ knew this would not be easy and that the two may end up going strike for strike but it was a gamble she was willing, and fired up enough, to try!

"Aaaah..." Karen gasped, slowly and gingerly rolling over onto her hands and knees. As she tried to push herself up to her feet, though, JJ was already on her, tying up aggressively in a grapple. Taken by surprise, Karen was forced back a few steps, before JJ's knee crashed hard into her midsection. "OOOOOF!" Karen gasped, doubling over so that her forehead was against JJ's chest, panting for breath after that brutal knee strike...

JJ was working over that mid-section and thought she had a good window to act! JJ lift Karen up high and stepped forward, looking to bring Karen crashing down across her knee but instead of falling down back first she was looking to drive Karen's abdomen down across her knee to capitalize on the knee strikes to her abdomen! If she could key in here then this would be a good spot to target soon with something like an abdominal stretch or other submission. When all else failed more slams and impact wouldn't be bad either...

"Hah...hhahhhhg..." Karen was breathing hard now after that brutal knee strike, her midsection hurting from where JJ's knee had rammed into it repeatedly. She wasn't defenceless-- not yet, at any rate-- but JJ had succeeded in leaving her literally breathless for a moment. Breathless enough that JJ was then able to wrap her arms around her upper body and lift her up, tilting her upside down.

Instinctively, Karen braced herself for a potential suplex. What came instead hurt a lot worse.

"AAAAAKGGGK!" she gagged as she was brought down, midsection first, onto JJ's outstretched knee. Bouncing off of JJ's knee, Karen went tumbling over onto her side; curling up, she clutched her midsection with both arms, breathing hoarsely as around them, many of the crowd cheered JJ's brutal comeback...

JJ sent Karen to the mat and immediately rolled her to her back to try to go for a pin! JJ hooked Karen's far leg deep and held it tight as she pressed down on Karen's shoulders by laying across them with all her weight. JJ watched the official slide in to place to begin the count, keeping the pin as secure as she could.

"ONE!"

JJ nodded with the count knowing Karen would likely kick out but wanting to know what state she was in...

"TWO!"

It was just after the count reached two that Karen kicked out, twisting sharply with a loud yell. Her chest rose and fell; she was hurting after that brutal comeback by JJ, but she was still in this match; around her, the fans clapped, cheering the two ebony powerhouses on as the battle continued.
