Shadow Courtship (for Bare)

Mara's eyes glimmered with excitement when Finlay offered her his cotton candy. "Really? Yay!" Mara said happily before she gratefully accepted the sweet treat from him. Then she cutely nibbled on the cotton candy before she looked at the Ferris Wheel. "So, let's get going now!" Mara said happily while still eating the cotton candy, hooking her arm around Finlay's own before moving towards the park attraction. She had one thing in her mind. The setup was perfect. All she needed to do was to get inside together with the boy whom she had a crush on.

Smiling a bit at seeing how giddy Mara got from giving her his cotton candy he would nod easily at her thanks. "Its no problem, I don't have much in the way of a sweet tooth." he admitted to her with a chuckle. Really just seeing how happy she got from it was enough for him in all honesty. As the two started to make their way to the ferris wheel Finlay noted there wasn't much of a line, in fact they could probably just walk right on.

Sure enough people seemed to have been more focused on the action and fast paced adrenaline inducing rides, rather than the slow and relaxing ferris wheel. As they stepped into their booth, carriage? Finlay wasn't sure what to call it, they had it pretty much just to themselves which he certainly appreciated as he took a seat on the bench while the door closed, just waiting for the ride to start.

The two of them didn't even have to get in line because many visitors seemed to prefer the more fast-paced rides like the roller coaster, so it didn't take long for them to enter the cabin. Mara had already finished eating Finlay's cotton candy, and now, the two of them stepped into the cabin, with Mara taking a seat opposite to Finlay.

Now that there were only two of them in the cabin, Mara somehow became nervous. She needed to find the right timing for her to carry out her plan, though she tried to hide her anxiousness by looking out at the window, waiting for the wheel to finally start moving.

Entering the ferris wheel with hardly any wait it wouldn't be long before they moved up a level so the next handful of people waiting could enter. It wouldn't be long before the ride started up in earnest, as he waited though Finlay would look across at Mara and see the slightly nervous look on her face making him raise an eyebrow in curiosity.

"Mara? Is everything ok?" He asked her before getting up and moving across the carriage to take a seat next to her and as he did so the ferris wheel would start to move with a bit more consistency meaning the ride was really starting now.

"Eh?" Mara blinked when Finlay expressed his concern and moved himself next to her. She blushed and fidgeted when he sat beside her. "N-no, it's nothing. Um... p-please wait a bit..." The Ferris Wheel had started moving now. She looked outside the window, and she could see the city from above.

Well, since Finlay had moved himself next to her, Mara could use this to her advantage. Scooting herself closer to him to the point where he could feel her body heat, Mara then spoke to him. "Say, Finlay... t-there's something that I'd like to tell you..." She tried to calm her nerves as she spoke to Finlay. She couldn't afford to ruin this.

Moving closer to Mara as the ride started Finlay made it clear he had a level of concern for Mara. Ever since they got on the ride she seemed nervous and dare he say apprehensive. Quite the difference from the bubbly confidence she had been displaying up until this point and he was quite interested in seeing what the cause was.

As it stood though she would assure him before starting to talk. "What would that be Mara?" He asked, noticing how close she was getting and not minding at all, even wrapping an arm around her as she did so, trying to make her feel as comfortable as possible for whatever it was that she wanted to say.

Trying her best to not freak out, Mara steeled her resolve. Fidgeting while sitting next to Finlay, Mara then looked at Finlay, trying her best to express her own feeling towards him.

"T-the truth is... I-I love you, Finlay." Mara said, her cheeks red as she confessed to Finlay. "W-will you take me as your girlfriend?" Mara then covered her face with her hands, thinking that the confession sounded childish, but that was all she could manage at the moment.

Finlay had a feeling Mara wanted to say something important but he wasn't quite sure, and just wanted to try and make her comfortable enough to ask. Thankfully after a few moments she would do so and Finlay felt his eyes widen in shock as she did so, blinking at the confession and feeling speechless for a moment.

Eventually though he would swallow the lump that formed in his throat and gently cupped Mara's face in his hands while tilting her head up to look at him. "O-...Of course I will. I love you too. Have for a while." He said simply and bluntly, just the way he was before doing something else he was known for, letting his actions speak louder than his words as he leaned forward to press his lips against Mara's in a long, deep kiss!

Mara was worried that Finlay might reject her, but then, when Finlay cupped her face and reciprocated her confession. Her face lit up, but before she could say more, Finlay went to kiss her, and she closed her eyes, enjoying the kiss.

"Mmmmm..."

Mara was delighted. It felt like a dream come true. She had told her feeling towards Finlay, and he returned the feeling. Mara was so happy that she wished that this moment could last forever.

Finlay wasn't expecting a confession of this magnitude from Mara on their first date. At the same time however it was kind of... exciting, enthralling even and he actually appreciated the direct route from her. No guessing or hoping things progressed at a certain pac. Instead they knew where they stood from their first kiss.

Speaking of... Pulling away slightly but still gently holding the sides of Mara's face Finlay would look fully into her eyes. "So.. now what?" He asked her, remaining close and intimate, but at the same time showing his interest, even an excitement that was barely constrained, making it rather clear he was interested in something a bit more than kissing.
