"I can't help but notice that your little bets never include an outcome where you buy me lunch."

The payment itself was hardly an issue; Saoirse never backed down from a challenge and was a good sport about paying up whenever she lost a bet. Her skyrocketing success over the course of her first year in wrestling had ensured that she quite literally had more money than she knew what to do with, especially when she hadn't bothered moving from the tiny apartment she had first rented when she came to Japan. Her petty competitiveness, however, meant that she had kept a running tally of every time she or Alizeh had gotten one over on the other, even with simple bets or other interactions.

Alizeh, currently, was far in the lead on that front. Her dastardly strategy of "having engaged in normal social interactions during the past five years" had proven quite insurmountable.

Say what else you would about Wyvern, when it came to practical instruction, she learned fast. Overconfidence in her strength during a lock-up like this had cost her in her last match with Alizeh, and that was not a mistake she had made since. As soon as the two join hands, she begins apply even pressure, taking full advantage of her strength to try to force Alizeh back. Naturally, her canny opponent doesn't let it get that far, quickly sliding out and ducking past her. The Irishwoman's reflexes work against her as she tries to swing an elbow into Alizeh's face, and the effort of controlling the response prevents her from stopping her friend's advance. Within that moment of distraction, Alizeh is able to cinch a rear waistlock. Wyvern responds quickly, grabbing Alizeh's wrists and trying to pull her off by force. It might work given enough time, but she isn't minding her balance as she does so...

Alizeh smirked slightly as she heard Wyvern's retort, not at all bothered by it, in fact she found it rather cute if anything. "That's cause I know you so well duh." She shot back smartly as the two circled before engaging, grappling for the briefest of moments before Alizeh ducked around behind Wyvern, locking her hands around the woman's waist for a waist lock, a hold that she knew wouldn't last for very long before Wyvern started pulling at her hands, trying to pry them apart.. But losing some focus on her legs in the process. 'Bingo.' Alizeh thought to herself, snaking her leg in front of Wyvern's before pushing from behind her to take the woman down to the mat, releasing her waist in the process as she fell on top of Wyvern but with the dominant position. Reaching around Wyvern's head and locking her arms Alizeh would attempt to secure a head lock on Wyvern, just to keep her in position and wear her down a bit!

"I doubt th-FECK!"

Wyvern's dry response is interrupted by a cry of alarm as Alizeh effortlessly sweeps her to the ground. A combination of distraction and disparate levels of experience give her no chance to respond before it's too late, and the greenette lands on top of her. The Irishwoman lets out a burst of air as she lands hard on her stomach, but is still able to quickly reach up and grab Alizeh's arms before she's able to get the head lock fully in and secured. The position is precarious, but with her superior strength at least she isn't at risk of getting choked out. She begins shifting her position under Alizeh, unintentionally telegraphing some kind of attempt to thrash or stand up.

"How about if I don't punch you, you buy lunch?"

Alizeh smirked softly at Wyvern, both cause of her overall dominance at the moment, but also due to Wyvern's surprised little shout at getting turned around. That being said though she couldn't afford to lose focus or ease up. Wyvern had been picking up grappling technique at a rapid pace and she would definitely not be held down for long.

"Ngh... If you manage to go the whole spar.. Ngh! Without punching me... sure!" Alizeh said in between grunts of effort from keeping Wyvern down, prompting Alizeh to cut her losses and pushed Wyvern down into the mat before trying to scoot her way on top of the woman's back, if successful, she would reach forward to grab Wyvern's legs, pulling them back to try and lock in a boston crab!

Alizeh manages to shift her position before Wyvern can muster the leverage necessary to buck her off, rendering the Irishwoman's preparations useless. Suppressing a surge of annoyance as she's pushed harder down onto the mat, the Irishwoman cranes her neck over her shoulder to try to get an eye on what Alizeh's planning before it's too late to stop her. Seeing Alizeh going for a boston crab, she quickly begins flailing one of her feet, trying to prevent the greenette from grabbing it while also wildly swinging for a hit on any body part she can reach.

"Then the pact is sealed."

For once, Wyvern isn't (just) being weird; the overdramatic pronunciation and flailing serve as distractions from her real goal: once she thinks Alizeh's attention is diverted, she grabs one of her teacher's ankles and pulls back with a sudden tug, trying to upset her and get her off her back.

Alizeh chuckled a bit Wyvern as she heard the girl's rather over dramatic response. "Don- Whoa!" Taking that brief moment to try and respond while grappling with her student's flailing legs proved to be a mistake as within moments Alizeh found her ankles being grabbed before teetering backwards and landing against the mat! "Oof!" Alizeh groaned out in response, grounded and temporarily defenseless before her sparring partner!

"Did you honestly think I would say something like that? Give me a little credit."

Pleased by the success of her plan, Wyvern keeps her vice grip on Alizeh's ankle even after upsetting her sparring partner, preventing her from recovering. While Alizeh is disoriented, the Irishwoman moves quickly, flipping onto her back and pulling her legs up closer to her torso. She quickly tries to twine her legs together with Alizeh's, looking to secure a leg lock, but momentarily tangles herself up in the process, leaving the Texan a brief window to counter in.

"Ngh.. To be fair.. I wouldn't be shocked." Alizeh managed to ground out as she pulled and twisted her leg within Wyvern's grasp. Especially since it was her leg that was being pulled and twisted and it was Wyvern doing the twisting. That being said though, as dangerous as Wyvern can be, she was still a bit inexperienced with actually locking in holds, and there was clearly a bit of clustering as Wyvern tried to set up her move.

Taking advantage of this Alizeh would reach up, grabbing hold of Wyvern's own ankles before Wyvern could fully lock in her hold to keep her from doing so! However Alizeh wouldn't stop there and would try to then roll over, taking the two over onto her their stomachs before pushing herself up and trying to roll herself forward to escape the tangle of limbs with Wyvern!

"...Fair."

A moment of consideration leads Wyvern to concede the point, unable to truly deny the possibility. While she seemed perfectly ordinary to herself, she was well aware of how odd she often came off, and her differences occasionally manifested themselves in her speech rather than just her personality. Her exact wording just then was a bit outside her usual speech patterns...but that didn't mean it was beyond the realm of possibility.

While Wyvern's consternation causes her to carefully contemplate the convoluted complexities covering her curious cognition and characteristically cumbersome cant, Alizeh is able to get a grip on the situation and wriggle free of the incomplete hold the Irishwoman was trying to lock in. Irritated by her own inefficiency, Wyvern rolls to get her feet under her before pouncing forward. In an actual fight this might have been more effective, but the need to avoid strikes makes her second-guess herself, slowing the leap down and giving Alizeh plenty of time to make ready.

"Whatever. I speak nine languages. Can't always sound natural."

Alizeh smirked a bit hearing Wyvern concede that little point to her. Not only cause it was pretty amusing to make her admit she was even slightly wrong, but also it showed just how well Alizeh had gotten to know the woman. They were honestly real friends at this point and it showed with how well Alizeh knew her and could call her out on some stuff.

Something that was further shown when she looked up and caught Wyvern hesitating for her leap down, clearly fighting her instincts for what would probably be a spear or elbow spike to her body. Using this to her advantage Alizeh would roll over while using her legs to catch Wyvern's and further pull her down to the mat!

If successful in doing so she would roll over Wyvern's body, attempting to snake a leg around one of Wyvern's arm while pulling the other back with her own, her free arm wrapping around the front of Wyvern's chest where she would lock her hands together over Wyvern's shoulder, trying to lock in the rings of saturn submission!
