Sheila Chihara vs. Chiaki Nanami - Apex Qualifier Match

In taking advantage of the break in the action, Chiaki had won herself a few extra seconds with which she could make her move, and she wasn't going to waste them. Now Sheila had begun to sink down, putting her into range of her next attack, and she was going to seize on the opportunity. Her leg shot upward, the sole of her boot planting into the Australian girl's face, and with another push, Sheila was taken off her feet, planting her back against the canvas as she slipped down and met the mat with a thud!

As Sheila landed on her back, the ring shook underneath the force of her impact. She was left dazed, groaning and trying to catch her breath - and that meant that as Chiaki grabbed for her leg to twist it around her own and set up a figure four leglock, Sheila was in no shape to fight back. She only realized what was about to happen to her when she looked up with a gasp to find herself in Chiaki's clutches - but by then, it was too late. The gamer girl dropped backward, and as she fell the pressure clamped down around Sheila's legs, crushing them in her grasp! Her back arched up off the canvas as she let out a pained scream, and her body began to thrash from side to side in the throes of agony. With her legs locked down, Sheila was only putting more strain on her body the more she struggled, but she wasn't giving much thought to that right now!

Chiaki's once more found success with her strategic style, connecting with a 1-2 kick combination into Sheila's stomach and face. And with the rookie knocked flat onto her back, Chiaki converted the position into a figure four leglock submission hold. Sheila screamed and thrashed in pain as the pinkette bored down on her knee with the hold, clearly proving its effectiveness.

Now there was one major variable that could come into play here, and that was Sheila's level of experience. The reversal method, and the resulting mind games and strategies surrounding it were well known in the wrestling world. However, Sheila was a Young Lioness. A branding by LAW that announced to the world that Sheila was a very green rookie. It wasn't impossible that the Aussie hadn't learned this yet.

Of course, Chiaki couldn't just assume that Sheila didn't know what to do here. That would be careless. But how the Aussie responded to being locked in the hold made Chiaki lean towards believing that she didn't. Sheila thrashing without though, intent, or direction, which gave off the impression that she was just randomly struggling. What Chiaki would do with this information was to defend against a reversal at the most basic level. Sheila goes one way, Chiaki goes the other. No trying to fake out or game Sheila with the direction she'd turn. Just keep it simple.

Chiaki was right about one thing - Sheila was still learning the ropes when it came to wrestling, and what was more, she was never the sharpest tool in the shed to begin with. Even if the figure four might have been subject to one of the best-known counters in professional wrestling, it was a toss-up as to whether or not the Australian girl would even be aware of it. Still, she was thrashing back and forth pretty hard - and whether she was trying to or not, she was still gathering quite a bit of force behind her motions. Enough to send the two of them tipping just a little bit to the side!

If Sheila kept at it, she indeed stood a chance of reversing the hold. However, Chiaki was already prepared for that. Just as Sheila was about to tip the two over, the gamer threw herself back down, putting the two of them right back at square one! Sheila cried out in pain, feeling her legs and back buckling even further against the pressure as her back arched up from the ground. As she grew desperate, she began to throw punches and slaps against Chiaki's legs, hoping that might get her to loosen her hold.

It looked like Chiaki's theory about Sheila was being proven right. The Aussie continued to just trash about in the figure four leglock, with no focused plan of escape to found. Just wild movement that Chiaki was able to shut down without having too much trouble. The problems began once Sheila just started swinging fists at Chiaki's legs in a desperate move to break free.

"Gah..." groaned Chiaki in pain and punches came down on her feet, ankles, and lower legs. One thing that Sheila had proven already that she possessed was power, and it was showing now. Eventually, the Aussie managed to land a hard, clean shot on Chiaki shin. "AH!" Chiaki gave a hard yelp as her body's reflexive response to the sharp spike of pain pulled back and released the leg lock.

Chiaki rubbed her leg as she got to a knee, then stood up fully. There was by no means an injury to the gamer's leg. A bruise, maybe. But that didn't stop Chiaki's leg from stinging something fierce. She took a defensive stance, ready to try at countering an overaggressive attack from Sheila once more. Chiaki didn't know how much the Aussie had left in the tank, but she felt like she had to be at least close to beating her by now.

Sheila might not have had the brains or the experience to know that she could turn this hold back around on Chiaki - and, with how hard she was managing to rock the two of them from side to side, she would have stood a decent chance of it if she tried. However, she didn't need any fancy counters to get out of this one! Gritting her teeth and trying to force her way through the pain, Sheila lashed out with punches and slaps, attempting to strike as many blows against Chiaki's legs as she could. She was flailing desperately - it was the best she could do, but hopefully it would at least get her somewhere!

Soon enough, one of Sheila's punches struck Chiaki right on the shin, and the stinging sensation proved enough to get her to let go. Sheila dropped to her back, panting for breath as she shook some sweat off her brow. Her legs were still sore, and she winced and reached reflexively for her own thigh just thinking about the strain she'd been under. But all the same, she looked up at her opponent, and she clenched her teeth and balled a fist in defiance. The sight of Chiaki filled her with a newfound will to win - if she had this chance, she wouldn't waste it!

Sheila was quick to roll herself back onto her feet, following Chiaki up. But rather than go into a stance, Sheila would attempt to catch Chiaki off-guard with the speed of her attack. Using the momentum of her ascent, she would suddenly throw her shoulder toward her opponent, looking to throw herself in against her chest. And if that managed to stun her, Sheila would grab her arm, ducking down a little further so that when she thrust her upper body back up it would roll Chiaki over her back for an over-the-shoulder arm drag!

Chiaki got up ready to defend herself, while Sheila got up ready to attack. So much so on the Aussie's part, that she attack as she stood up. Launching herself forward shoulder first into Chiaki's body. The pinkette had little time to react, but she knew that her quick reflexes and solid defensive positioning would be able to make the most of that time.

Or at least, they should have. Chiaki's plan to do a hop step back out of range of Sheila's shoulder bash before coming back forwards to counter strike. But when the gamer girl went to push off, her bruising shin shot a sharp sting up her body. Chiaki let out a hiss as her hop step turn into a stumble that got little distance. And as a result, Sheila's shoulder charge connected. And having connected with that, the Aussie grabbed Chiaki by the arm and flipped her up over her shoulder to slam the pinkette to the floor.

Sheila was firing on all cylinders. With every move she made, she was attempting to drive the momentum forward, never once letting the pressure off her opponent. Even as she threw herself back to her feet, she used the same motion to slam her shoulder against Chiaki's sternum! Even as the gamer girl tried to get out of the way, her sore leg caught up to her, slowing her down just long enough for Sheila's strike to land! And that was only the first part of the Australian's plan - now that Chiaki was still stunned from the attack, she wasn't able to resist what came next. And she had also doubled forward, meaning that as Sheila grabbed her arm and pulled down, the leverage was enough to flip her over her back and against the mat!

With a grin on her face, Sheila turned around to face her fallen foe. Now that Chiaki was out on the mat, Sheila was in control, and she was going to press the advantage! She kept her grip on Chiaki's arm, cranking at her wrist to deal some more damage as she lifted her foot to throw down a few stomps against Chiaki's ribs!

As Chiaki was slammed back first onto the mat she had now officially been got. And that was very bad for the gamer girl. "Ah!" Chiaki groaned as she really felt the twist that Sheila put into her wrist. This spot was really bad, and Chiaki could only assume that it was going to get worse before it got better. If it ever did, that was. A woman who hit as hard as Sheila just might be able to finish Chiaki off of this opportunity if she played her cards right.

And the worse did in fact come for Chiaki. Instead of coming down to the floor for some ground and pound or a submission, Sheila stayed standing and began to stomp her foot down onto Chiaki's body repeatedly. With the Aussie using her grip on the gamer's twisted hand to hold her in place, Chiaki could to little more than gasp and groan with each stomp she took.

With each stomp she landed against Chiaki's slumped form, Sheila's excitement was growing more and more, her smile widening across her face. She felt the adrenaline rush that could only come from knowing she held the dominant position, and she wasn't about to let it go! Each time she brought her foot down, feeling the shudder go through Chiaki's body beneath her, she felt like she was coming closer and closer to victory. If she could soften the gamer girl up this way, she would be powerless to resist her next move - and it would make the impact all the more devastating!

At last, finding herself satisfied with her efforts, Sheila gave a sharp tug on Chiaki's arm as she stepped back from her, going to drag her opponent onto her back. She was hoping that after the beating she'd received, Chiaki would be too dazed to get back up so quickly - which would mean she was lined up well for the Australian girl's next move, as she turned to the ropes to climb her way to the top. Once she stood atop the top rope, Sheila straightened her back to look out at the fans before she threw back her head and let out a battle cry, leaping off and swinging out her leg to land a hard leg drop across Chiaki's midsection!

It didn't feel like a position that should have Chiaki trapped, yet she was. Sheila's hold on her arm held the pinkette in place, and though the Aussie only controlled one of Chiaki's arms, the repeated stomps that she dealt to Chiaki's stomach gave the gamer girl no room to do anything with her three free limbs to try to make her escape from this awful position.

Chiaki was only released when Sheila said so. The Aussie made sure that the streamer was on her back as she released Chiaki before making for the ropes. Even though she knew that she couldn't stay still, the pain in Chiaki's stomach whenever she tried to rise kept her in place. And that meant she was unable to avoid the even bigger shot to her stomach in the form of a flying leg drop. "AHHHH!" Chiaki cried out in agony, curling up into the fetal position, and holding her bruising tummy with both hands.
