Raya Ashberry vs. Valley Doll III - Youth In Revolt

Valerie clamped tight with the waistlock and scored the hold, but that didn’t mean it would be smooth sailing. Raya’s power was raw, had no shortage, and keeping her under control was a task even for her. To say nothing of all the thrashing about, all the struggling.

She wound up taking an elbow on the face, right on the eye, and for a moment it made Valerie see actual red. Something about the blow flared her up, made the simmering tension she had with this woman boil over into actual anger for a real second, and that was all it took.

Valerie braced, planted her heels, arched her back and lifted Raya clear off the canvas, hurling her backward through space with a powerful jerk, executing a powerful German Suplex. She made sure to hold Raya’s waist after the impact and bridge out, too - she was going to hold that pose and go for a pinfall.

“Nnggh…” Raya was sent flying backwards like a ragdoll and the impact with the mat left her reeling for a second as Valley held her waist and bridged out, going for the pinfall right there.

Raya stared at the ceiling while seeing stars, but she heard a voice far away like a distant buzz, it was the referee starting the count, signaling that the match was threatening to end in her loss if she didn’t manage to do something soon.

“1!” The ref began while Raya laid there unmoving, still trapped in the pin with Valley’s arms making sure to hold her down tightly.

“2!” As she heard the second time that the ref’s hand hit the mat nearby, Raya summoned up the rest of her remaining strength and kicked out as hard as she could to break free of the pin, desperately trying to keep herself alive in this match, although in her current state it would likely just be delaying the inevitable for the moment.

A kick out. An escape.

Didn’t mean Raya was out of the woods, though.

Valerie didn’t think that German Suplex would be enough to take Raya out - the woman didn’t have the best skills, but she was tough enough to keep on going from a hit like that. She banked on the kickout, which was why she kept hold of her foe after it, rolling her over to her stomach while she stayed attached to her back.

”Not done.” She gripped Raya tight, drew her legs in, and began to rise with her opponent clutched tight. She’d never attempted this particular move with someone her own size, but whatever - this was as good a time as any to experiment.

Valerie gritted her teeth, hauled Raya up, arched her back, and attempted to send the woman flying across the ring with a deadlift German Suplex.

Raya succeeded in kicking out, but couldn’t do anything as her opponent didn’t waste a single second to roll her over onto her stomach then gripped her and lifted her and sent her flying with a deadlift german suplex.

Raya groaned as she hit the mat, the accumulated damage had taken a toll and she was now on the verge of defeat. She tried to push herself back up but her knees buckled and sent her tumbling back down, and she was now nearly out of options. She pictured herself losing again, laying flat on the mat in humiliating defeat as Valley stood victorious, and that image made her blood boil. She was furious enough that she managed to stand back up while balling her fists as she gained a last burst of strength and immediately charged forward with total abandon, trying to lay Valley out by attempting to hit her shoulder into her gut with a spear.

Valerie breathed and sucked in the rarified air as the crowd began to swell around her, cheering and rallying as she picked up momentum, feeling the match turn in her favor - more so than it had been, anyway. She rolled back to her feet and turned Raya’s way, preparing to set up her finishing move, the Spear.

Oh. Oh, Raya was already up.

And rushing her way. Wait, was she going to hit-

Yup, a spear. Valerie’s eyes went wide as the redhead came crashing into her stomach with her own finishing move, taking her off her feet and slamming her into the canvas. The blow crashed into her stomach, sunk deep, and took all the wind out of her body, made so much worse by her not being the least bit prepared for it. Gasping, heaving, she rolled over and clutched her gut as she futilely kicked her legs about, reeling from the heavy hit.

Raya also laid on the ground, exhausted. She had put everything she had into that spear, hoping to put Valley away with that hit, but her opponent was once again proving to be as strong and as resilient as almost anyone she’d ever been up against. Although even someone like Valley would feel the sting from such a move, as Raya looked over to see her clutching her gut and kicking her legs about.

She stood up, feeling her entire body being weighed down. She’d been nearly out for ages now, and was only able to go on out of a mixture of sheer spite and fear of losing. Raya had yet to taste victory at Law, had gotten so close once only to let it slip away, so now she’d do everything possible to ensure the same thing didn’t happen again.

She walked over and stood over Valley’s reeling body, then would get down and try to wrap her arms around her neck from behind in an attempt to get her in a rear naked choke.

”Seriously?” Valerie grumbled through clenched teeth. ”Now you start get dangerous? Now?”

Despite not being much for mid-match talk, Valerie had to get that one off her chest, wondering exactly where her foe had found the power to soldier through a German Suplex and return fire with one of the better Spears she’d seen - and she was a woman who knew a good spear when she saw one. Compact, fast, devastating power. Impressive stuff, and she might have even told Raya as much if she could breathe more.

Valerie huffed and started to push up, only for Raya to come down on top of her a moment later and wrap those thick arms around her neck, pulling her into a rear naked choke before she could slip away. She gasped and thrashed beneath her foe, but there wasn’t much she could do for a real escape at the moment - bad positioning, bad angles, bad everything. For now, the best she could do was pull at Raya’s arm and try to steal a few puffs of air, fighting for consciousness every step of the way.

Raya struggled to keep the choke in, she could feel her arms burning from complete exhaustion, as she was continuously pushing herself to her own limit in desperation. But still, this was it, she’d either finish the job now or if Valley somehow managed to escape from this then it would most likely signal the end for Raya and another untimely defeat. Surely she could not snatch a loss from the jaws of victory again, surely not.

She kept it up and grunted, not even registering Valley’s grumbled words. All Raya needed to do now was get her opponent to either tap out or get put to sleep, and she would do it at all costs. She looked around to see if they were in the vicinity of any ropes, and for the second time she had gotten lucky again, as they were too far away for Valley to reach out and break the hold, and Raya would make sure she wouldn’t move from this position either. All she could do now was hope that Valley didn't have any more tricks out of her sleeve to break out of this one.

Deja vu.

It had been years ago, maybe a decade and a half, one of her earliest memories. Her mother, the older Valley Doll, had taken her to one of her shoes, and she was sitting in the audience with her brother, watching as she took on this bed, brawny redhead with absolutely massive legs. It had been a close match, she remembered that, and near the end, the big redhead had gotten her in a RNC and crushed her with those thick thighs.

Her mother won that match, though. Why was this coming back to her now?

…oh, right.

Valerie pressed her feet to the canvas as Raya continued to squeeze the hold, then raised up on her tiptoes for an extra bit of leverage. Like this, she bridged in the hold, letting her weight come down on her opponent’s top and pinning her shoulders. She stretched out as far as she could, using as much of her weight as she could manage.

The referee saw what was happening and dropped down beside them to start the count. ”1…!”

Raya kept the hold in, refusing to budge, when suddenly Valley pressed herself up with her feet and turned the tables by pinning her. As the referee started the count, Raya could do nothing but wiggle helplessly, unable to break free.

“2!” She tried to get up, but her body had no more power and was failing her. Raya had squeezed every last drop of the tank, still she refused to give up, but it was no use, she knew she had let it slip from her grasp right when she was this close to victory. If she had squeezed just a bit harder…

“3!” The ref officially put the match to a close, Raya stopped resisting and just laid there, tears welling up in her eyes, her throat burning and a pit forming in her stomach. Her previous losses had been embarrassing and had also hurt, but nothing seemed to compare to what she was feeling now. Raya had thought that this was a winnable match against a very beatable opponent, and had come the closest she’d been so far to get her first victory on the books, only to fall apart at the last second again.

She turned her head to the side to look away, wanting to hide the expression on her face as well as not being able to bear looking at her victorious foe, knowing she had put her foot in her mouth by talking trash as much as she had only for it to backfire now that she was the loser.
