Though Yuki was prepared to stay locked up with her foe, hoping to better get a feel for what Mayori could do and accustom herself to her style before diving in headlong, Mayori had other plans, and she would surprise her by springing back into the ropes, no doubt planning to use the momentum for a high-flying aerial attack! In that moment, Yuki stopped in mid-stride, watching intently on what her opponent was doing. This was the first time she'd seen such a maneuver from Mayori tonight, and she still wasn't sure what it was she would be doing to her - but she seemed pretty confident in it, regardless. Yuki had to think fast here. If she let Mayori get away with too much, she could be the one paying for it...
A few seconds later, Mayori came hurtling towards her. Yuki tried to study her posture, but there was no telling what the girl had in store even now! But if nothing else, she had been given time to prepare for a charge like this, and as Mayori drew near, Yuki went to reach out her arms, positioning herself to grapple her and hopefully counter her attack. But she only had a few split-seconds to assume the position - only time would tell what would happen next!

Re: Yuki Kazikura vs. Mayori [D]
Frankensteiner.
This move made sense in the moment. It would stun. It was considered an aerial move meant to surprise. It would also lead into a pin attempt if she kept it tight enough.
But a lost fact on Mayori in heat of her attack was that she had never performed it once in her life. Trained her body for the maneuver, yes, but never actually done it. The success of the attempt depended on her opponent’s ability to counter her when once she got her legs up and over 3/4 of Yuki’s height.
Roughly 1.5 meters of a vertical leap. The move could severely injure Yuki and/or Mayori if she didn’t execute it well. It was too late to stop from trying, the half seconds that elapsed upon her approach to where Yuki stood were spent. This move was what she chose to try.
She leapt in front of Yuki and got her legs up high. Did she get them high enough? Was she close enough? Did that look of focus on Yuki’s face mean that she was going to get countered?

Re: Yuki Kazikura vs. Mayori [D]
Yuki still wasn't sure what sort of a move Mayori had an intent to perform. Either that was because she had mastered the art of being unpredictable, or the girl just hadn't had enough practice to properly set up the move - and, based on what she'd seen thus far, Yuki would be inclined to assume the latter. But regardless of what it is, Yuki would soon receive an answer, as Mayori got her ankles into place around her head!
Unfortunately for Mayori, this was a move that Yuki herself was well-versed in. Having used it in her own arsenal, she knew how it worked and how it could be set up - and how it could be countered. Having gotten her arms up in time, Yuki reached up to try and grab hold of Mayori as she held fast around her head, in the split second she had given the shift off her center of balance with the girl's full weight on her shoulders. It wouldn't be long before the two would go toppling over - but before that would happen, Yuki tried to counter her opponent's Frankensteiner into a suplex by spinning around in place, holding onto her, and then throwing her weight over so that the two would fall, aiming for Mayori to hit the mat first!

Re: Yuki Kazikura vs. Mayori [D]
A brilliant and terrible counter on a move that lacked the confidence to pull it off.
A spinning spine buster suplex put Mayori on her back in almost a jackknife fashion. The momentum that she had built up by springing off the ropes, spun her 180 degrees and sent her crashing to the mat under Yuki was enough to make her sit up with the stun momentarily. She breathed out a what little she had left in her lungs and toppled back onto her right side.
The crowd let out a collective “Awwww” upon the counter’s execution.
Mayori sluggishly cradled the back of her head with her left forearm and brought her left boot over her right knee. She moaned with pain and disappointment in herself.

Re: Yuki Kazikura vs. Mayori [D]
With Yuki having to act so quickly, unprepared for just what Mayori might have in store for her, the prospect of executing a counter was a risky one. But Yuki managed to deliver - with a sudden spur of grace and skill, the yellow-clad girl used the little time she would have on her feet to twirl in place and bring her opponent down! As the two of them bounced off the canvas, Yuki was now faced with the prospect of having to collect herself before the next confrontation took place.
Mayori was still reeling from the landing she'd taken, attempting to nurse her wounds. Yuki, too, was still coming off the adrenaline rush of the risky maneuver, but she wasn't going to let Mayori get away yet. Now that the two of them were now down, it was Yuki's turn to capitalize, as she went to throw herself on top of her foe, attempting to roll Mayori on her stomach before going to grab her chin for a camel clutch!

Re: Yuki Kazikura vs. Mayori [D]
Mayori felt Yuki complete her turn upon her right hip and got her to lay prone three feet off center in the ring. Yuki’s grasping found purchase under the newcomer’s chin and Mayori’s teeth were made to grind with the neck pain that made her face light up with a flushed expression of agony.
“NahUhhh!”
Her palms alternated on the canvas and each shoulder shrugged upward as they did so. She was reaching out to the ropes and gave Yuki’s wrists glancing brushes with her hands. She would get a grip on her knuckles and then lose it before she could yank them from off her chin.
She then attempted to roll onto her right side, again, to unbalance her attacker.

Re: Yuki Kazikura vs. Mayori [D]
Getting her weight over atop Mayori's back, Yuki was able to apply her hold, locking her fingers around her foe's chin and pulling back. Her teeth clenched as she focused intently on her move, trying to draw upon her strength to the fullest intent. Submissions like this weren't necessarily Yuki's specialty, but she at least saw this as an opportunity to weaken Mayori somewhat while both of them were down, softening up her back and ensuring she'd be slower and sorer when it came to butting heads again.
Mayori would start to approach the ropes, but with the two positioned still relatively close to the ring's center, she might have some difficulties in that regard. But it turned out a rope break wasn't what she was going for, as she instead tried to pry herself loose manually. Yuki merely looked on with determination, assuring herself that she could do this. It was, in fact, a bit of a surprise to her that she had lasted this long; was she getting better?
However, she wouldn't have Mayori forever, as the girl soon rolled over, drawing on the strength she needed to do so. Without the ground to brace against, Yuki's efforts were useless, especially with Mayori trying to shake her off her balance. She went rolling onto her back, dislodged from her foe.

Re: Yuki Kazikura vs. Mayori [D]
Freedom from the hold didn’t mean that Mayori was clear. She still had Yuki in her blind spot, just over her right shoulder.
She glanced up to the referee who was signaling that no submission was achieved to the timekeeper and hen she quickly crawled forward and used her hands to get her back up onto her feet. The ropes were now behind her as she turned to look in Yuki’s direction.
At the first sight of yellow, Mayori would attempt to run at her for another attack! This time, she would need to surprise her able opponent without putting herself at risk of another devastating counter - of which she still felt the effects. Her upper back and lower neck Alerted her that her speed was dampened as she ran toward Yuki. Her next move?
A roll-up cradle pin, which would bring Yuki forward, but not close enough to any ropes.
Mayori had to be relentless.

Re: Yuki Kazikura vs. Mayori [D]
Having been forced to release Mayori, Yuki had went rolling a short distance away on the mat, but altogether she had been worse off before. She was starting to pick herself back up, preparing to get her bearings and prepare for the next confrontation...but Mayori was already on her! She had gotten down on top of Yuki, moving to hook her leg for a pin. Thrown onto her back before she had time to prepare herself for such a maneuver, Yuki let out a gasp. Mayori certainly did have the advantage of surprise. And the ref was already closing in, starting to count the pin.
"One! Two!"
But despite being caught off her guard, the match was still relatively young, and Yuki still had her energy about her. Recovering from the initial shock, she would bridge her back and try to kick her way out!

Re: Yuki Kazikura vs. Mayori [D]
Every kick and shaking of Yuki’s leg could be felt on the back of Mayori’s padded knees.
She gritted her teeth and tried to hold the small package for the full count, but no! Yuki was surprised, indeed, but she was not down for three seconds. The package’s lock was broken and the two wrestlers separated, each lying across the LAW logo on the canvas. Mayori slapped the canvas with her right hand, feeling how close the third slap was from the referee.
She got to her knees and sat on the back of her heels. She tucked her bangs and gauged Yuki’s position. If she was at the same height as Mayori, an attempt at a knife edge chop would be made. If she beat Mayori up to her feet, the girl in red and white would try a toe hold to bring the girl in yellow back down.
If Yuki was quickened by the surprise, Mayori could still be outmaneuvered by the burst in energy.
