Challenge Accepted Katsumi Oshiro vs. Raquel Masters

Raquel kept squeezing and gritting her teeth, groaning as she was putting all the effort she could muster into this hold! "Nigh... how do you like it!?" Raquel said as she had Katsumi stuck for the time being. She felt her confidence returning as she kept Katsumi in the hold. Each second was more pain Katsumi felt, less air she had. One second closer to a potential submission.

Raquel reared back, still squeezing as she wanted to keep at it, keep trying to get Katsumi to submit! Raquel knew if she could pull off a win here she would be looked at differently by the other wrestlers. She would be looked at differently by the bosses who scheduled the matches. This could be big.... but if she screwed this up it would be equally big for all the wrong reasons!

Those stupid rhetorical questions! They're more fun when you're the one giving them! But being on the receiving end, all it does is make Katsumi a little crazy. The best response she can muster is a choked, pained cry, growing a little more savage with each passing second. Submissions aren't her best facet, at that. She's brutal and harsh when she applies them, and has some good intuition when it comes to reversing them or working her way free, but she's not a technician!

The best her mind settles on in this particular moment is a brutal response to a painful situation. With one hand still on her waist for balance and leverage, Katsumi raises her other arm into the air. Slender fingers curl in to make a fist. She swings in low in an attempt to butt the fist into her opponent's midsection in hopes of loosening her up! A few more would soon follow!

Raquel gave it all she could but the flurry of fists soon came down, battering her abdomen! She kept the hold tight but it loosened with each strike! After the fourth Raquel let go completely, trying to roll away and rise at least to her hands and knees. Her abdomen was aching her horribly now, as the strikes hammered right where that claw dug in earlier. Raquel winced as she struggled up to her feet, bent over and looking over at Katsumi. She couldn't let her get the upper hand again.

Raquel had her hands up, and tried to lunge in to grapple with Katsumi! Raquel was lighter, but she was also shorter. She had a lower center of gravity and tried to work that to her advantage as much as possible for positioning. She wanted to try to maneuver herself by backing Katsumi into a corner, then turn her into a punching bag! Easy in theory, but to actually pull off against a bigger woman? That was much harder!

When Katsumi is released, she drops to her hands, body slouched and coughing. A hand lifts to draw back through her hair before her focus returns to Raquel, meeting her gaze. She takes a deep breath and brings herself back up to her feet - only to be immediately met with a lockup!

Katsumi staggers back under the surprise force, eyes widened! She finds her back slammed into the turnbuckle, her arms slinging back over the top ropes and unfortunately leaving her open for whatever volley Raquel had in mind!

Raquel caught Katsumi off guard and had to take advantage of this! She stepped close and began to send a flurry of punches into Katsumi's abdomen, almost as if possessed to deliver payback for the ravaging her own midsection had felt at the hands of her foe! Raquel was a flurry, a machine going for fast strikes. One by itself wasn't bad but she was looking for a bunch of stinging strikes that mounted as opposed to one or two big, slower powerful once. She could only hope she was starting to wear down Katsumi and her defense at this point otherwise the smaller Raquel needed to go back to the drawing board!

Her arms had to go over the ropes. They just had to. It left her body open, and Raquel was taking full advantage of it. Katsumi's toned, trim belly is pummeled with each shot Raquel offers, the toughness of what abdominal muscle she has tested in its durability. But the problem is, durability is something Katsumi doesn't have working for her. The longer she weathers the punches, the weaker her abs become, until each shot is just drilling into her stomach.

"Hff! Gnh..!"

Aching and sore, the Punk Princess starts to sag in the corner, leaning forward. "Lay.. off..," she offers weakly, desperately needing to normalize her breathing again. If Raquel does nothing, Katsumi is doomed to drop forward onto her knees, her arms folding over her stomach protectively. "Nng.."

Raquel kept pounding away as she heard Katsumi mutter something about backing off as she dropped down to her knees. "Lay off? I accepted a challenge, calling out a woman on a win streak to prove myself... I ain't about to lay off!" Raquel answered emphatically as she leaned forward to wrap her arm around Katsumi's head and walk her out towards the center of the ring. Tightening her grip Raqual stood up and held her free fist in the air before attempting to lean back and plant Katsumi's head to the mat with a DDT!

Raquel was rolling, and needed to keep it that way before going for a hold or a pin. Katsumi was too damn scrappy to be put down easily. Raquel knew from having her head planted to the canvass more times than she cared for that headshot could daze and disorient. She had to keep Katsumi from being able to really be on her toes. The more room she had to counter the worse off Raquel was going to be.

Well, it was a fair response. Probably nicer than what Katsumi would've said, in her position. But that's poor succor to a girl who's getting her stomach pounded. Thankfully it seems to come to an end when her head is tucked under Raquel's arm. Having been wrestling for years, she knows this is a bad position to be in - but there's little she can do to stop it, the ache too fresh in her midsection to allow her the core strength to resist. She's walked to the center of the ring, one arm looping around Raquel's waist, the other gripping blindly at her arm.

And then the world tips over. Katsumi's head is driven against the mat, and the jarring impact leaves her mind completely fuzzed and blanked. Her body runs stiff for a moment before falling limp. The Punk Princess crumples first to her side, then rolls over onto her back, eyes shut and body splayed.

Raquel planted Katsumi down and quickly adjusted herself, rolling onto her chest and reaching an arm down to hook a leg, using her strength to keep a solid pin in place as the referee slid into position.

"ONE!"

Raquel knew that she was a bit of an underdog here even though she did have a couple impressive wins under her belt. She wasn't about to let some oddsmakers tell her what her chances were. She wanted to put on a show, do her best and win. Costume's resume thus far was certainly impressive. Raquel wanted to show that she was just as good. Not to mention that a lightweight who took her fitness seriously would be able to hang with bigger women. Raquel held her breath, waiting to see how far in the count this would get!

It's a funny paradigm, Katsumi's found herself in here with this federation. She'd faced much bigger opponents, some smaller opponents, but they were all just opponents. Only after joining here has she found that she's distinguished as more of a threat simply for having four pounds of weight. If she weren't already a skinny, slender girl, she'd probably try to lose that much weight just to screw with management as they bumped her back and forth between the middle and lightweight divisions.

Of course, none of this is bearing on her mind right now. Raquel's a rarity in that she's one of the few opponents she's wrestled here who isn't taller than her, but it didn't come with the expectation that she'd walk all over her. Hell, her career here has been a fun display of height not making right. But oh no, right now, all she hears is the slap of a referee's hand beside her head and a one-count.

"Ahn!"

Katsumi's body bucks as if of its own accord, kicking her toned leg free and thrusting an arm into the air. The referee-girl declares it no fall, but Katsumi's head is still swimming. She's struggling to snap back to attention, but it's taking too long.
