Another Night, Another Match: Gohan vs Daniel Haines

As Gohan raised his fist, the arena exploded with cheers and he was about to follow through with the DDT when he felt a sharp pain on his side. Dan had slammed his fist against Gohan's torso and Gohan let out a soft grunt as he bent to the side and awkwardly lower his hand to try and cover his side. However, before he can cover his side, he had loosen his hold on Dan's head enough for the bigger man to wrap his arms around Gohan's waist.

Gohan's eyes widened and his mouth opened in the shape of a "Nooo" but no sound came out as Dan lifted Gohan off of his feet and over. The Northern Lights Suplex hit as intended and Gohan's body bounced back from the canvas. Gohan clutched his lower back as he scooted away from Dan in an attempt to create some separation between him and his opponent.

Dan knew Gohan was faster so when Dan landed offense it had to be solid. If he could keep hitting Gohan like this he could open up the chance for consecutive high impact moves. That would be the key to winning for him. Right now though Gohan was on the mat and Dan had an idea to slow him down. Dan was going to show off his technique and submission prowess now. He reached down to grab Gohan by the legs folding them into a figure four to apply a figure four leg lock to Gohan! Dan was now targeting the legs of Gohan after hitting his torso hoping that slowing Gohan down could help lead to opportunity for Dan in the ring.

As Gohan was scooting away from Dan and towards the rope, he suddenly felt resistance and found that he was no longer inching closer to the ropes. When he turned around, he saw Dan towering above him with both of his legs in his grasp. Instinctively, he tried to kick his larger opponent away, but to no avail. Pretty soon, Dan began twisting Gohan's leg into position before dropping down on the mat and locking in the Figure Four Leg Lock.

"AHHHHH," Gohan began to scream while simultaneously shaking his head and scratching on the canvas beneath him. Panic filled his eyes as pain surged from his legs up to his lower back. Initially, he tried to fight out of the hold. Throwing some strikes at his opponents knees, but his punches barely reached and the pain is keeping him from throwing heavier punches. So instead, he moved on to Plan B.

Gohan, biting his lips, attempting to swallow the pain dug his right elbow onto the canvas while reaching for the ropes with his left. When his reach doesn't make it, he alternates. Left elbow an inch closer to the ropes while his right reaches out and so on. Gohan knows he has a lot of fight left in him and Dan will not get the victory, much less the satisfaction of tapping him out.

Dan kept the pressure on, feeling Gohan dragging them closer to the ropes. Dan keeps up the pressure making the trip as painful as possible feeling like he can maybe for maybe force Gohan to....

"ROPE BREAK!"

The shout of the referee crushed Dan's hopes as he immediately let go and backed off to allow Gohan to his feet fully honoring the rope break. He knew at the very least that he had done quite a bit of damage though. The powerhouse crouched as at the ready waiting for Gohan to rise.

Gohan released a sigh of relief as he felt Dan let go of his legs. He immediately curled in a fetal position, clutching his leg as he rolled around. As the pain began to ease, he knew he had a fight to continue.

Gohan, utilizing the ropes, pulled himself up with visible effort, his leg visibly trembling from the ordeal. The crowd rallied behind him, their cheers a mixture of admiration for his tenacity. Despite the pain etched on his face, Gohan steadies himself and catches his breath--hoping to get a little more recovery time before the next clash.

Dan waited and once Gohan was back up to his feet and on the ropes that was enough time. He wasn't going to stand here all day, and he thought back to the opening of the match. Dan moved in and grabbed at Gohan's arm trying to pull him close. Dan as trying to grab and lift Gohan up attempting to spin around and step forward to hammer him with a back breaker if possible! He had to keep hammering away at Gohan, he couldn't let him build momentum again.

Gohan didn't have nearly as much time as he'd like to recover. Once he made it on his feet, he saw Dan immediately approach him. Still a bit groggy from the submission hold, there was very little the Saiyan could do when Danny Boy grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the center of the ring.

Though still groggy, Gohan did attempt a counter. A quick right hook to Dan's cheek should allow him to break free from his opponent's grip. However, Dan was quicker than the recovering Gohan. Dan ducked under the right hook and the momentum of the punch swung Gohan around.

Dan used this opportunity to lift Gohan as if he was a damsel in distress and carried him. Gohan felt Dan's bicep flexed underneath him as he was lifted off of his feet and higher into the bigger man's clutches. Once he was carried, Gohan's vision blurred as Dan decides to do a quick spin, further disorienting Gohan.

As the world began to spin around him, Gohan's mind raced to come up with a counter. Unfortunately, this was abruptly cut short by a shooting pain in his lower back.

Dan had stopped spinning and dropped Gohan directly over his knees. Folded backwards over Dan's knees, Gohan let out a muffled scream as he attempted to straighten out his back.

Dan shoved Ghoan off his knee and had an idea for a follow up. He grabbed Gohan's ankles and after having done a submission hold on his legs moments ago Dan followed up by holding each ankle kicking the hamstring of each leg as hard as he could a couple times! He was trying to keep up on the target area's he had picked out: The legs and lower back. Dan maintained his focus then let go of Gohan's ankles tossing him to the side hopefully before Gohan could pull off a crafty comeback of some kind.

Gohan's world seemed upside down as he is sprawled over Dan's knee. Pain surged through his body as Dan shoved him off of his knee. Gohan's rolled around the canvas clutching his lower back. Then, seconds later he felt Dan grab him by his ankles. As Gohan looked up, he realized what Dan was doing... targeting the body parts that he'd already began doing damage to.

Before Gohan could device a plan to get out, Dan had initiated his attack. A quick strike to the back of Gohan's legs. "Rrrggghhhh," Gohan winced as Dan's boot connected with his hamstring. The pain continued as Dan kept up the attack. After the third strike, Gohan attempted to get out by pulling his legs in and quickly kicking out hoping to knock Dan back, but instead, when he kicked out, he found his back off of the ground!

Dan had used his momentum to lift him up and toss him to the side nonchalantly as if discarding an obstacle that had been thoroughly overcome. As pain surged through his legs and lower back, Gohan slowly crawled towards the turnbuckle and leaned back-first against the post. He needs to stop this assault soon and dish out some punishment of his own...

Dan saw Gohan slumped against the ropes, and right there he was a prime target for a nice big running knee attack! Dan backed up across the ring from Gohan before bolting towards him. Dan had a simple plan in mind and as he ran he wanted to hammer Gohan. Dan leapt up and aimed to use his power and momentum to land a huge running knee strike right to the face of Gohan! Dan knew if this could hit it could potentially be a knockout blow but if he missed he would be the one in a rough spot....
