Re: Lessons in brute strength (for MappleMan7)
There was a simple trick to breaking a bear hug, one just needed to know and not panic in a moment. First tilde would wrap her legs around Oscar's and bush her heels on the back of his knees, then she would put her hands under his jaw and push out and up forcing him back. In this position maintaining the hold would be more painful to the attacker and open his throat up for a possible attack and de best choice of action would be to let go.

Oscar grunted as Tilde would push against his chin- trying to force his head back at an uncomfortable angle. It would seem that Oscar was familiar with this method though as he would try to fight back the pushing with his own head.
"Grr... oh so THAT'S why Tina and the gang always try to push my head back..."
Try as he may though, Tilde had a lot more muscle going on than Tina and her friends. He'd certainly give it his best, but his head was slowly forced back until he was forced to release Tile from the hold and take a step back.
"Ow... I think that's the first time that's ever worked. I know I picked good help now"
He'd chuckle as he nursed his neck with his hand. On the bright side, it definitely seemed like he understood the counter loud and clear.

"Someone would have to be a lot weaker than you for that not to work and even then they can make enough of an opening to just strike your throat. Hard not to let go after that." She would say stretching her back a little.
"If I had my arms locked there would be less pressure sure but unless someone can match your strength and break free their only option would be headbutts"

"I see..."
Oscar nodded along as he listened to Tilde.
"Do you know any good ways to avoid a headbutt?"

"In general keep your guard up and work the distance. In a position like a bearhug not much, you can do. But headbutts are always aimed at your nose, otherwise they are not really effective so try to get it out of the way.

Oscar smiled and gave a thumbs up
"Gottcha. Any other advice you have? I'm happy to hear just about anything"

"Don't go for it too early, you need your opponent softened up for it to really be effective. Joint submission and chokes are better at ending fights quickly. Other than that not really, bearhugs were never my thing, I'm a little too short for that. Any preference on what we cover next?"

"Hmm..."
Oscar scratched his head as he thought about some more ideas
"What do you know about strikes and throws? I can do a forearm smash and a mean German suplex along with a big boot- but not much else. Do you know of some effective moves that would work for someone like me?"

Tilde would tap her chin a few times
"For strikes, I can recommend someone else but throws are what I'm good at. How about we start with something that can work as a quick takedown. Ever tried belly-to-belly suplex?"
She would say as she got in a position to demonstrate.

"Oh- I have! Well, once actually. It was during a mock match"
Oscar would nod his head.
"It's like locking someone in a bearhug but you toss them into the canvas, right?"
