Nightmares in the Making - Lovers Inose & Halloween Sonohara vs Mirika Hanatsuru & Yakura Shiranagi

Worse than the pain in her nose was Mirika’s relentless teasing chirping Yakura's ear from the apron. Her jaw tightened slightly, violet eyes narrowing in irritation as she wiped at the underside of her nose with the back of her wrist. “Shut up, Mirika…” she muttered coldly, though the annoyance in her tone only seemed to amuse the Cherry Idol more.

Unfortunately, Yakura barely had a second to compose herself before Halloween made the tag, and suddenly Lovers exploded into the ring like an overeager missile. Yakura’s eyes widened slightly as the bubbly wrestler came barreling toward her at full speed, words tumbling out almost faster than her feet could carry her.

“...What?”

The kick came fast. Yakura reacted on instinct alone, jerking her head and shoulders sideways at the last possible second. Lovers’ boot whipped past her face by mere inches... and cracked directly into Mirika’s jaw instead!

“EEEEEE!”

The Cherry Idol’s head snapped violently to the side as the impact blasted her clean off the apron. Her body spun awkwardly through the air before crashing directly into Kiyora and Onika at ringside, sending the entire cluster of ENCORE stumbling backward into the barricade in a chaotic pile of limbs, hair, and outrage. The crowd erupted instantly.

“Mirika!” Kiyora barked sharply as she caught herself against the barricade, irritation flashing across her otherwise composed expression. Onika looked downright furious, shoving herself upright while Mirika groaned dramatically somewhere beneath the wreckage. “Ow ow ow ow… she kicked meeee~!”

But Yakura didn’t care about any of that anymore. The second Lovers’ attention flicked toward the chaos outside, the Lily Idol pounced.

“You're mine now.”

Yakura surged forward out of the corner, planting one foot hard against the mat before leaping upward into a sudden step up enzuigiri aimed toward the side of Lovers’ head!

A lot of people - okay, mostly just Halloween - said that Lovers had tunnel vision, that she had trouble focusing on more than one thing at a time and her attention could wander if she wasn’t careful. She didn’t like to admit it, but she could see what they meant, sometimes. It was a little easy for her to forget things. Like, her car keys. Her phone. Parts of her costume. Little stuff.

Like, say, where Mirika was.

Nobody would believe her, but she really hadn't noticed Mirika was standing there. She’d been so busy trying to get to Yakura that she hadn't stopped to consider exactly where she was, but sure enough, she moved and Mirika’s face was there, and…

Yeah. Oops.

”Crap!” Lovers hopped back on one foot, still keeping the offending one in the air. ”My bad, Miri-san! Totally wasn’t paying attention, that’s on-”

”Jesús Cristo, Lovers, move!”

Lovers whirled about just in time to eat a foot to the face, as Yakura’s head connected clean on her forehead. The Cutie Cupid spun about, a full 180 degrees, putting her back to Mirika. That one hurt, she was stunned…

…but only for a second. When that second passed, she threw herself backwards, brought her leg over in an arc, and attempted to strike where she anticipated Mirika would be, going for a Pele Kick.
