Lovers wasn’t going to get a win with that move, and she knew it, but that wasn’t the point. She and Halloween had both been trained to apply constant pressure, going for pinfalls whenever they could. ‘If you ain’t pinning, you ain’t winning’. Good advice. Every time you went for a pin, you forced your opponent to push you off, made them waste energy, and put them on edge, just a little. She wanted to put a little fear in Morgan’s heart, get her worrying about the next time she got caught off guard.

Besides, pinning Morgan gave Lovers the chance for a little skinship. The woman did feel damned good, she had to admit, and she wasn’t hating the prospect of rubbing up against her a little more. By all indications, she would’ve been down for it…

She was not, however, down to being pinned, and she proved as much when not only burst out of the pin, but made Lovers pay for the hit. She was flung away, sent over to her back, and Morgan was on the attack, lashing out and driving her fists into her sternum with a nasty blow.

The noise that came from Lovers’ mouth could only be compared to that of a dying pig - a hoarse, sharp, squealing sound that had no business coming from a human body. It wasn’t quite as bad as it had sounded, though, just knocking all the wind out of her. Reminded her of the time she’d been on her scooter - or was it her bike - and she got hit by a car. Or, well, she’d hit the car, actually. Hadn't been paying attention and slammed into it. Really knocked the wind out of her, and one of her front teeth, too. She’d been in the hospital for a couple of days, but it wasn’t all that bad. She liked the food there, and they even let her have ice cream for breakfast, though they didn’t have the strawberry flavor she wanted, and…

…wait, why was the crowd cheering louder now?

She perked up and looked to the side, where she could see Morgan scaling the turnbuckle, looking like she was about to go for a moonsault. Nope, not happening. With a renewed sense of urgency, Lovers pushed up to her feet, rushed forward, stood on the bottom rope for some extra height, and wrapped her around Morgan’s waist, pulling her in tight.

She ran her tongue along the woman’s spine, tasting some skin, before she looked up at her with a mischievous smile. ”How’s this for ‘flashy’?”’

Lovers clenched tight, pulled Morgan off the turnbuckle, and attempted to bring her crashing to the ring with a German Suplex.

Morgan was enjoying herself, she thought scaling up the turnbuckle. The crowd was starting to get into it and she was seeing a lot of cool moves that she would eventually have to try. Maybe even in this match if she could get a chance to walk through the motions, but that meant nailing her opponent with some big so what was bigger than a big aerial attack?

It all made sense to her but not Callie.

"Morgan! Morgan! Down! Down!"

Morgan heard her call behind her but what was she, a cat? No, this was the right move. She'd absolutely nail this and Lovers would have to take, like, forever to recover. It was all according to plan.

Oh.

Morgan froze.

She felt a form crash against her while about to hop up to the top turnbuckle. Arms wrapped around her waist and pulled tight in a hug. The wet line of a tongue tracing along her spine made Morgan flinch, straightening with a started yelp. Darting her gaze over her shoulder, she met the mischievous smile of Lovers right there. This was supposed to be Morgan's bit with the mischievous smile and flashy move.

"Can I-eep!"

Morgan interrupted herself with another startled yelp as she was pulled back, pried off the turnbuckle despite her hands clinging to it like a cat refusing to go to the vet's. She was flipped over, again, limbs sprawling and waving about, this time brought down on her shoulders and then her head. The magician was light enough that she bounced, continuing her flip so she'd fall mostly chest first in a collapse onto her stomach. It sort of reminded of her washing machine escape as a child, how she had to spin in the water and undo a lock. She remember spinning underwater and only lightly getting tossed around. It was probably an escape trick her parents shouldn't have put her through but she turned out alright. The trick with that one was to have lock that wasn't really locked.

Morgan lifted her head and used her forearms to crawl a bit. It probably looked a bit futile, especially considering Morgan was just crawling towards the center so nowhere actually useful. "Owowow...." She could feel it in her neck a bit. Her head was swimming, but that'll wear off.

The crawling continued but she only ever really ended up crawling up to Lovers. She stopped, realizing that she hadn't really saved herself. Morgan looked up, weakly smiling. "How about we cuddle instead?"

Lovers seemed like a cuddler. Morgan was a cuddler, but it was sort of intended as humor rather than actually cuddling.

Yup, Halloween hadn't imagined that. Lovers had just licked Morgan’s back.

”Por el amor de…” She rubbed her forehead and groaned as she processed what she was seeing. It hadn't gotten as bad as she knew it could get just yet, but it looked like Lovers was every bit of the sex fiend she’d been when they were dating - and, more importantly, when they broke up. The woman just could not keep her hands to herself, and it seemed like Morgan was already keying onto that. If it went unchecked, that could cause some real problems on down the line.

She needed to get in there. Needed to put a stop to it. Now.

It looked like her opportunity was coming, too. For all of Lovers’ silliness, she could bring the goods when she had a mind to, and this was a prime example. She brought Morgan down hard, slamming her with a force you wouldn’t have expected from two tiny bodies, and it left their opponent laid out and crawling. For her part, Lovers was able to pull herself up with the aid of the ropes, as she brushed off her chest. Looking a little worn out, though. Time for a swap.

Lovers was strutting back to Morgan with a playful smile on, but Halloween put a stop to whatever that was with a snap of her finger, drawing her teammate’s attention her way. ”Hanako, switch up!” She held out her hand. ”And give me the setup!”

That last part was a cue from their old days, and while she wasn’t sure Lovers would remember it, her nod confirmed that she did. She stepped over and slapped hands, but Halloween didn’t immediately come into the ring - instead, she walked along the apron to the center, grabbed the middle rope, and ducked down, poised like a cat, ready to pounce.

Meanwhile, Lovers made her way back over to Morgan and pulled her back up to her feet, hugging her close and tight and keeping her facing away from Halloween the whole time. ”Sorry, cutie.” She gave her opponent a quick peck on the cheek. ”We’ll get to know each other a little better later. For now…”

Lovers abruptly spun Morgan around and jumped out of the way, as Halloween made her way into the ring by propelling herself through the top and middle ropes, turning herself into a human missile for a slingshot spear to the woman’s chest - a move she liked to call the Jump Scare.

”BOO!”

Morgan thought she as being reasonable. Of course she was making a bid to buy for time for her senses to comeback but it would have been nice to just lay there with someone holding her. A mutually enjoyable pause in the action. Though normally Morgan preferred bombastic action all the time, a show had to ease off to build up bigger and better.

Plus, she was getting the shit rocked out of her.

Morgan didn’t put up much a fight when scooped up into Lovers’ embrace. Perhaps it wasn’t a cuddle but she didn’t mind being hugged. Her head lolled to the side and she was just a little bit limp in the embrace, supported by her opponent. Not limp enough for her own hands to slip down to cup at Hanako’s hips briefly but as her opponent spoke, then kissed her cheek, she dropped them. It was clear Lovers was not going to allow Morgan a moment of rest.

“Why not now?”

Morgan gave a pout. Was she about to be thrown again.

No. It was much worse actually.

She was spun around and released with Miss Trick-or-Treat suddenly appearing like a jump scare in a movie. There was a brief time when Morgan’s eyes went wide before in the impact, just in line with the startling Boo! uttered.

Morgan felt the small frame crash into her chest with enough momentum to sweep her off her feet. She crashed into the mat. Again. This time she was really feeling it bouncing with a gasp.

Laying there as her chest raising off of the mat as pain racked her, head tilting back to view through her half-lidded eyes to see her partner reaching out for her, she probably understood why Callie had wanted to stay in.

“Uuhhn…” she groaned in pain to emphasize that but Morgan knew the risks.

She placed a hand delicately on her chest while the other was strewn about to the side. Morgan gingerly began to roll over to her side and pull herself an inch towards her partner.

Maybe a break was advisable.

Fun as it was to throw down, Lovers was happy enough to be out of the ring, if only for a little while. That whole opening exchange had been fun, but even she knew she’d been playing with fire, and things could’ve gotten out of control. If she knew Halloween - and she did, despite what Halloween would say - she had been using that time to gather data and figure out their opponents. She’d always been pretty good about that whole strategy thing, so Lovers was happy to let her work. She was always more an ‘in the moment’ kind of wrestler herself, while Halloween made the big plays that got them the wins. They’d even managed to take out some pretty big wrestlers in their time before, girls that were nearly twice their size, like the one time they’d taken on the Two Towers, these uber buff goth bodybuilders, in a Tornado Tag Last Woman Standing match. They’d beaten them both by burning them under a mountain of steel chairs, and they’d posed together on top of the heap afterwards. Fun times. Not so much for the Two Towers, they could barely breath under all of that, but for them? Super-fun.

But enough trips down memory lane. Now, Lovers just wanted to sit back and watch Halloween go to work.

And go to work, she did. That slingshot spear was just as nasty Lovers remembered, knocking Morgan clean off her feet. A small fry she might have been, but Halloween could generate some real force when she wanted to, and she wasn’t afraid to put her body on the line to do it. The two of them came crashing to the mat and she rolled away from the impact, only to pop up to her feet right away. The freshest woman in the match, and making good use of it.

Morgan couldn't say much the same, as she rolled over to her stomach and tried to crawl away. Smart move, but Halloween wasn’t letting it happen. ”Nuh-uh, you’re going nowhere, blondie.” She hopped over Morgan’s back and proceeded to drop down for a hard sit, right on her spine. ”You said you wanted to cuddle, right? Cuddle with me.”

Halloween’s idea of cuddling probably wasn’t as gentle as Morgan was hoping for, though. There wasn’t much tender about it, as she reached out, grabbed her opponent’s chin, and cranked it back, back, back, while she slipped her knees under the woman’s shoulders.

A classic Boston Crab, with Halloween fishhooking Morgan’s lips to add some insult to injury. Oooh, she must’ve been a little mad. Bad news for Morgan. ”Smile for the camera!”

Morgan didn’t like Halloween. Well both the holiday and her opponent. She didn’t like the cheap thrills of jump scares because it made it too easy to get the audience into the seats. She did like horror but only those horror things that had a slow and subtle build. Halloween the wrestler was not like a slow and subtle movie. She was like a jump scare Blumhouse horror movie.

Blondie

Ugh. Morgan hated when someone smugly called her that. It was so mocking. She’d have to find a way to pay Halloween back for that one.

Speaking of backs, Morgan did take a hard drop onto her spine.

“Ugh!”

She uttered as her upper torso and legs bowed from the impact. She probably didn’t want to cuddle with Halloween after that. Though especially as those hands found her chin, pulling her back.

Her first submission hold in an actual match. Although she was on the receiving end sadly. They reminded her a lot of the contortionist troupe a friend had introduced her to. She learned a lot about that art form and it was beautiful how they can eventually bend in ways you’d never think. Especially if double-jointed. Morgan was and she trained with them to really help out her contortion ability to escape from anything.

Now that didn’t mean she had a cheat code for submissions, but she could bend a lot. So as Halloween brought that chin back, Morgan bent about as far back as she could with her spine. She was staring up at Halloween who was looking down at her. So smile for the cameras was really smile for Halloween in a sense.

“Uunnn… uughh..”

Morgan groaned from the strain through her fish hooked mouth. Her face scrunched up in pain. Arms pinned outwards. Her feet kicked at the mat but that was all she could really do. Halloween had her dead to rights in her camel clutch.

How long could she go? Morgan had never tested but she was starting to feel it in her spine and abs. The bending really flaring up that only prompted her limbs to kick about.

Yup, Halloween’s taste in wrestling moves was much like her taste in movies: She loved the classics. Everyone always expected her to do highflying stuff because she was so small, and while she could bust that stuff out every now and then, she much preferred to get down and dirty with the tried-and-true moves, stuff that might not have been too flashy, but always worked. A properly applied Camel Clutch could work wonders.

Morgan would have agreed, too. If she could speak. Which she couldn't. Fishhooks and all.

Instead, she was relegated to making funny noises as Halloween cranked the hold back and back and…wow, homegirl was super-flexible, props were it was due. Halloween damned near had her inverted, and she was still holding on. Not any closer to escaping, but taking it like a champ.

”Okay, props, you’re hanging tough.” Halloween smirked as the referee circled around them, keeping a watchful eye for a tapout. It wasn’t going to come, though. Not like this. Morgan was stubborn, she knew the type. ”But if you won’t tap…”

Halloween dropped the hold, but that didn’t mean Morgan was off the hook. Far from it - instead of getting off her opponent’s back, she lay on her back, wrapped her arms around the woman’s neck, and locked in with a tight rear naked choke, putting full pressure on the throat. ”...how about a nap?”

Made sense to her. If Morgan wouldn’t make the choice to give up, Halloween would take that choice away from her.

Morgan was definitely not going to tap. She liked to claim she'd never tap to any submission but that was monumental claim that she probably couldn't back. Still, though, she wasn't about to start. Not least of all to Trick-Or-Treat on her back.

Thankfully that measure wouldn't be tested today as the release from the hold would come. Morgan's spine snapped back, throwing her head forward into the mat, slapping her forehead into the canvas with a dull thud. She might have tried crawling again, but she had a monkey on her back that was weighing her down. Probably worse was when the small figure slid into a casual lay. The blonde was far too groggy to react before that arm came to be known around her neck, closing tightly around to cut off her air.

Morgan made a strangled gasp as her hands shot around the little Scare's arm out if instinct. Now a decade of water escape perils had afforded Morgan two things. One, she could hold her breath quite well, though circumstances changed that as she didn't get a good breath in before getting choked. Two, she did not panic when she couldn't breath. Well, she had to fight off that urge to panic but she did so better than most. She needed to not panic to focus on what she needed to do to escape.

Escape artist was about half as simple as not panicking.

Subtly her grip shifted, moving from the forearm to the wrists. Then she ever so slightly adjusted so that Halloween's weight was to one side. Speed was key here with someone else trying to react and Morgan had to move. So suddenly, Morgan would turn over, looking to roll over on top of Halloween. At the same time, she wrenched a single wrist of her opponent's to force a gap as Halloween had to not only contend with being rolled over on but also her twisting wrist and Morgan's attempt at pushing her arm out.

All the circumstances along with Morgan's head tilting back to help slide her chin out from under the hold let her slip free.

She gasped, though, and wasn't in a shape to do anything but prop her head up from the mat and breath, still laying, back turned, right next to Halloween.

Wow, Morgan was flexible. Like, really flexible. Lovers had taken on some bendy wrestlers in her time, but she couldn't recall any of them having the body to do stuff like her fellow blonde was doing, as Halloween threatened to pull her body like Laffy Taffy. She just hoped the woman tapped before anything serious happened. She was kind of cute, and Lovers had already decided to try and meet with her after this, hoping for a little ‘private time’ together, if that was on the table.

It didn’t look like she was going to be down for much longer, anyway. Halloween had switched it up to a chokehold, but Morgan was fighting hard to get out of it. The woman had some good grit, fighting even as she was being choked, and while Halloween was doing her best to hold on…

”Shit!”

She wound up getting rolled over to her back, which brought the referee down beside them, checking for a pin. Halloween got her shoulders off the mat before that could happen, but it was too late to stop her hold from getting messed up - Morgan had her head free. Didn't mean she was clear, though.

Halloween twisted hard and brought them rolling again, once more taking the spot on her back. She reached forward, pulled her head up, and once again put her in that fishooking version of the Boston Crab, this time with a little added venom in the hold.

Lovers couldn't resist a tease. ”Having some trouble in there?”

”No, I got her.” She couldn't see from where she stood, but she was 100% certain Halloween was rolling her eyes. ”Homegirl is just doesn’t know when to give up.”

”Like some people I know.”

That was enough to make Halloween turn her head about and glare her way, a look that could’ve made the dead shiver. ”Uh, pardon me? I know exactly when to give up. Our relationship’s a good example.”

Lovers huffed and leaned on the ropes. ”I feel like that’s not exactly how it happened, but if you say so.”

”I say so ‘cause that’s how it is, Hanako!” Halloween wrenched the hold back a bit further, just out of spite. color=Orange]”We had a thing going, a good thing, and you messed it up with your…You-ness. Not my fault that…”[/color] Her face shriveled up in that uber-cute way it did when she got flustered. ”Why are we even talking about this right now?”

Morgan's freedom wasn't really the breakaway she had sought. Halloween still had a grip on her and pulled her back into the roll, that brought the pair over to Lovers nicely enough.

Of course, Morgan found herself on her stomach again pinned down and was pulled right back to where they left off a few moments ago. The blonde was bent back, her whole upper body bending around an arch that Halloween shaped. Fingers darted in to pull her cheeks apart again to give that 'smile' back up at her opponent and they just resumed like Morgan's endurance was nothing.

She was back to her kicks and arm wobbles that ultimately did nothing. She uttered a few sounds from her mouth that made it evident Morgan was struggling. Was she honestly clueless in this submission? Probably. It was only her, second one to be on the receiving end technically. Callie never did really bend Morgan this much so this was all new.

There was a nice change a pace, for as little as nice meant in this case, in that Morgan was treated to the drama of Halloween and Lovers argument about being a former couple. It was hard to really pick a side, on account, Morgan was being folded in half, but she did kind of listen as the conversation did include her... just her grunts and gasps.

"Aauh..."

Morgan uttered through closed eyes as Halloween wrenched the hold, unlocking a new sound while inadvertently taking out her frustration on the magician. She might have thought that face shrivel would be cute and maybe a redeeming quality of Halloween, but she missed it. Also hard to think positively when being bent. In case Morgan hadn't convinced herself enough of that.

On the other side of the ring Callie had lost all concept of what this was anymore. A match? It was until Morgan decided to become the biggest jobber she had ever seen. How had she kept this up for so long, she had no idea. At least it looked like maybe she might have gone for that tag at some point, but now what? Morgan was across the ring in enemy territory and practically being ignored in a lovers' quarrel!? Callie rubbed at her eyes. At least she was here... even if it meant she'd have to take a few loses with her partner...
