Videl Satan vs. Sara Conners - Head-Cha-La

Okay, Videl had gone from minor irritation to a major annoyance. Congratulations.

She achieved that lofty goal in typical fashion, proving herself far more capable than Sara had estimated. She thought the knee would’ve knocked the fight out of her and opened up the chance to bring her down for a submission, but no, her opponent stayed irritatingly persistent. Before she could even think of capitalizing, Videl powered through, plowed into her, and brought the both of them to the floor in a heap, scrambling to take control.

Sara received the answer to her unfinished questions a moment later, when Videl scrambled on top of her, pulled her head back, and secured a tight Camel Clutch, wrenching her upper body upwards with the classic wrestling hold. She immediately went into panic mode, not wanting to let the damage pile up, and tried to crawl towards the ropes for salvation.

Videl didn't know that Sara was consistently underestimating her, but with how dismissive the blonde had been of her before the start of the match, it was really easy for the martial artist to envision Sara as continually looking down on her ability. Videl used this to drive her, and felt a swell of pride in her chest with each instance of proving her image of Sara wrong. And well enough for her, the larger woman actually was shorting Videl on credit.

Videl got her Camel Clutch, but it was then that the biggest problem for her in this match reared its head again; the sheer size difference between the two allowed Sara to quickly begin making her way towards the freedom of a rope break. And Videl really didn't have a way to stop her that didn't involve decent risk. So the martial artist would just pull back on her hold as hard as she could for as long as she could until Sara made the ropes.

Sara was starting to hate Videl. Not just in the usual way that she hated pretty much everyone she’d ever met, but on a personal level.

It wasn’t just that the woman had gotten the better of her in this exchange - good as Sara was, that sort of thing was bound to happen sooner or later, and it happened more times than she cared to admit. It wasn’t even that she was having trouble with a little idiot with pigtails. No, what she truly resented was being put in and forced to suffer through this insipid hold, made to crawl on her belly like slug towards the ropes while she was wrenched back. She hated silly wrestling moves like this in general, but this one in particular was mortifying for her, a mockery of a proper submission.

Regardless of her opinion, though, Videl had locked it well enough, and she couldn't be easily shook, which left Sara with one, unenviable option: Crawl as if her life depended on it.

And she did, too, pulling them along, inch by torturous inch, until she was close enough to reach the ropes and get a solid grip on the bottom rope.

Videl knew that she couldn't stop Sara from reaching the ropes before too long. But it still left something of a bitter taste in her mouth that the first submission hold that she had locked the blonde into this match had been escaped without even looking for a moment like it may actually force a surrender out Sara. It did look like it did some damage though, so Videl could at least be happy with that.

Once both women were back standing, Videl knew that she had to get back to her striking gam; her strong suit. Just because she got one submission hold didn't mean that going for another right away would go well at all. So the martial artist would open with a Question Mark Kick aimed at Sara's head before jumping with her other leg and trying to fire a second kick as she landed back down with her other leg. If she hadn't been stopped yet, Videl would try to continue by leaning in and striking further at the Middleweight's midsection with a hook and uppercut to her abs.

Sara gripped the ropes tight and the referee did her job, coming in quick to break the hold and set her free. If the situation was switched, Sara would’ve taken the opportunity to milk the hold and get some real value out of it, making sure she used the full five count to maximize her time. Videl, however, took the more noble route and let go pretty much right away. Her mistake.

Sara pulled her way back up, gritting her teeth from the pain in her back, but she was far from finished from just that. She brought her arms up, taking a strong defensive posture as Videl moved in, looking to press her advantage. A kick came at her from the side, moving an odd angle and tagging her on the top of her head, but she didn’t let it bring her down, only staggering a step back, then powering forward. Didn’t waver. Eyes forward and focused.

She saw her opportunity with the next kick, coming from the other leg. Instead of blocking it or moving away, Sara moved in and wrapped her arm around it, clutching it tight against her body. She dipped down, then leaped to the side with the leg anchored to her, forcing Videl to fly along with her as she executed a Dragon Screw leg whip.

Videl had seen that Sara was plenty capable of defending herself against strikes, so the martial artist knew that she had to be quick, strong, and precise in order to maintain her edge and avoid being countered. She started well, with her deceptive kick managing to freeze the blonde for the split second she needed to hit her across the head.

But it ended up being that Videl had overestimated how hard she was actually hitting Sara. She expected the larger woman to be stunned enough that the rest of her combo would connect smoothly after the first kick, but instead she found her very next strike getting grabbed. Then once Sara had Videl stuck, she twisted and spiked the smaller woman into the mat. "Agh!" Videl cried out on impact.

The Dragon Screw was a little theatrical for Sara’s taste, not the bread-and-butter type of move she would’ve preferred, but screw it - it worked, it got Videl down, and now she was in control of things, ready to take the driver’s seat.

The Android stayed true to her namesake, moving in on her opponent without wasting a single moment., She came at her from the side this time, rolled her over to her chest, and tried to capture her head in a tight front facelock, wrenching her neck tight to ensure keep her under control.

”Up.”

She issued a single harsh command before she began to stand, forcing Videl to rise with her. As soon she was upright, Sara dipped down, pulled her arm over her shoulder, then lifted her up, over, and down on her back, trying to hammer her into the mat with a traditional vertical suplex.

For the first time in the match, Videl had lost control entirely to Sara. The larger woman had thrown her to the mat, and now was making sure that she stayed in control as she wrapped her head with a Facelock. Videl let out a grunt as Sara squeezed her skull, unable to resist as she was pulled up and over the Android's shoulder, then sent straight back down with a Suplex.

"Gah!" Videl let out a cry as her back hit the floor. But she wasn't out of this yet, not by a longshot. The martial artist would propel her body towards Sara and try to grab her by the legs. If she did, Videl would then attempt to roll over, causing the Android to get dragged down to the mat. This move was purely an aggressive attempt from Videl to wrangle control of the match back into her hands.

There. That had to do it, right?

Sara didn't think she could finish Videl with a move like that, but she thought it would be enough to create a real dent, at least, something that could put her down long enough for her to get in a submission hold. That was the only way to this, after all, and she was quickly getting to the point where making her scream was a personal goal - she’d caused her no end of pain, after all, and that needed to be answered.

She rolled over and began to push up, but instead of finding a vulnerable target waiting to be exploited, she was greeted by a vengeful pigtailed princess slamming into her at high speeds. There was no stopping it, she was going down, and Videl was going on top.

That didn’t mean she wasn’t going to take control of the situation, however. Thanks to Sara’s background in the cage, she was no strange to being flat while an opponent loomed over her, and she acted accordingly, bringing her arms up for a tight guard, ready to weather whatever Videl tried throwing her way, while keeping her eyes open for an opportunity to give back.

Videl managed to get on top, but that was only step one of taking back control. Now she had to fight Sara on the ground to truly take the match back over. And judging by how the blonde put up her guard, Sara wasn't going to make it easy on the martial artist. The Android was clearly willing to wrestle control from beneath Videl if she had to, and she was about to have to.

Videl reeled back with her left hand, but before she brought her fist down, she would hesitate with in and try to sneak in a right instead. The black haired fighter was trying to draw Sara's eyes with her left so that she could stick the larger woman in the abs with a quick right punch. Only then would Videl try to bring down the hammer onto Sara's head with that cocked left.
