"The sky's the limit for both of you. I think you'll find that opportunity is abundant at LAW. If you want to be a main-eventer and you're willing to put in the work it can certainly be done, Miss Touka." Dan began. He made eye contact with Kyoko before continuing, mentally noting the concern the daughter seemed to feel for her mother. It was rare to see Kyoko exhibit such compassion. It only made sense that she'd have these feelings for her own flesh and blood.
"Isn't that right, Kyoko. I'm sure your mom could keep up with you and ladies like you if she tried. You're trying to be a main-event gal, yourself, aren't you?"

Re: Managerial Complaints
Kyoko eyed Dan, unable to make heads or tails of his intentions encouraging her mother like that in such a dangerous profession. She knew wrestling families were a loved thing to cultivate but that couldn’t be the only reason. And his words before his mom showed up reeked of some long term plan that she was out of the loop on and not appreciating.
“Trying? I-” Kyoko stopped she felt her mother’s eyes on her turning to face her before turning back to Dan. “Yeah..I’m sure she can do fine. Though there is a lot of tough gals out there who aren’t a fan of holding back regardless.” Kyoko said though Touka just smiled along anyway. “Well that competitive streak hasn’t died down at all. Not that I expected it to. I’m sure soon enough your main event potential will be reached...in the meantime I was wondering Mr. Dan what exactly defines the main event in your mind Just title matches or simply the most desired match by fans. I’ve seen people argue for either or, and I was curious what a man of your experience might have on the matter.”

Re: Managerial Complaints
Kyoko's suspicions seem to only grow with each glance and each listen. Although the company executive understood her worries, the urge to push her buttons was something he could hardly resist. He brought the side of his clenched hand up to his mouth to stifles a chuckle he nearly blurted out in response to Kyoko's interjection concerning her place in LAW's main event scene.
His mischief, however, took a backseat to his genuine intentions. Touka had posed an interesting question. One that DeFranco crossed his arms and contemplated for a couple of seconds before answering.
"Very intriguing that you should ask, Touka. I need to choose my words carefully on these things. You see, many women in this company aren't really interested in approaching me with these questions."
"I select the main event of all official LAW events, personally. Titles can help make careers. But the wrestler, that is to say, the champion and their challengers make the title. The relationship between that of star-power and charisma, and that of accolades and championships is mutual. Championships and championship matches are surely a sign that one is working their way up the ladder of their division. But your place on the card is indicative of you working your way into the hearts and minds of fans, etching your legacy into this business, and carrying this company, LAW, to a brighter future."
"I'm sure you understand what I mean by this, Touka. I'm sure to you, these words have some meaning. Kyoko, one day, it'll make sense to you, too."

Re: Managerial Complaints
Dan couldnt help throwing another subtle jab at Kyoko's character in his pep talk to Touka, not that her mom understood it. In fact she just nodded her head at the whole thing enjoying the fact that she was getting what she thought was solid advice from an expert at seeing wrestlers rise to the top. When he was done she thought about his words for a bit before responding.
"Truly interesting. Well I do intend to make sure that I do my best to stand out. Cant be living in my baby girls shadow for my stay. Even if she is casting a pretty hefty shadow." She said giving Kyoko a rough squeeze as she spoke. Kyoko didnt mind but hated that she was being so openly affectionate in front of Dan who was already getting a kick out of it. "Yeah im sure Dan likes to think otherwise but I know the value of what fans think of you....its why ive maintained a reaction for so long." She said trying to throw some kind of comeback.

Re: Managerial Complaints
The dynamic Kyoko and DeFranco had with one another in front of Touka was shaping up to be quite unique. Where many heel wrestlers would seek to rip a manager's head off when they came to a disagreement, Kyoko sought to defend herself, answering each of Dan's thinly-veiled verbal jabs with one of her own as they discussed ongoing events at LAW. Of course, her mother couldn't be happier. Kyoko was doing well for herself, all things considered, and this was something even DeFranco could not deny.
"I have to agree with that, Kyoko. You've certainly....earned a place in the hearts and minds of fans. And that impression you've left on them will most definitely take you places." Dan said to the fiesty younger woman before smiling at Touka.
"And with Miss Akan and Mrs.Akan on the LAW roster, I'm confident you'll both be hitting a stride around here just the way you'd like. Wouldn't you agree, Miss Touka Akan? Are there any opponents or matches you're looking for at the moment? If you'd ever like to arrange something, always feel free to ask me. Many men and women here at LAW don't seem to be comfortable approaching me after they're hired. But I'm more than happy to work with everyone to make sure LAW talent is happy here."

Re: Managerial Complaints
Kyoko hated this, while her tounge was never short of comebacks the fact she has to play softball gave her pause cause of her many talents holding her tounge wasn’t one of them and she found her eyes constantly shifting towards her mother to make sure she didn’t catch any ill intent from her directed at Dan. So far so good as Touka wasn’t focusing too much at her words and instead chatting with her new boss with a smile and a laugh.
“Well of course I can’t look bad in front of my little girl now can I? Oh opponents? Well that is an interesting question. I guess any old vets would be a good start, they might help me understand my limits.” She said thinking on the matter more as Dan offered her more on her contract. She simply nodded along taking everything in. “Ill be happy to come in if anything is needed. You seem like such a nice man. Not like many other bosses of more sleazy backgrounds I’ve heard of.”

Re: Managerial Complaints
Dan could practically feel the daggers Kyoko wanted to sink into him behind the superficial smile she put on. But he couldn't be having any more fun with this if he tried. Of course, to him, this was all in good fun. Touka was still blissfully unaware of her daughter's more heinous transgressions at LAW, and DeFranco had no intention of being the one to unearth them to her. No, that opportunity would have to go to another person on the LAW roster. It would make for excellent ratings. But in the moment, making sure that Touka was settled and that the Akans were both happy working for him was paramount.
"I pride myself in my transparency and in doing good business. And of course, in running the greatest wrestling promotion there is in the world today. You just let me know what you or your daughter need. Anything from locker room accomodations to new gear to ideal opponents, tag teams, and so on. You let me know, and I'll do all I can. All you have to do is sign on the dotted line."

Re: Managerial Complaints
Touka nodded at the mans words before going for the pen on the counter. "Well no point in wasting time then, not getting any younger." Touka started to give the contract one last look over, before she started to sign it, unaware that her daughter was sweating bullets internally thinking about all the opponents Dan might put her up against, looking at Dan himself he seemed more amused then worried which just seemed to make Kyoko feel worse, almost sick but she didnt show it otherwise, merely mouthing 'You are dead if she gets hurt.' behind her moms back before Touka sat up again.
"Well then...thats it. As of Today Im a member of the LAW. Good thing they win right?" Touka's attempt at a joke had no affect on her daughter who vaguely remembered the song she was referencing before looking at the contract, nothing to be done now...well there was but nothing more could be done here. "Well...welcome to LAW mom." "Oh thank you sweetie, I cant wait to tell the others, im sure they'll be thrilled, its been so long since we all got to spend time together."

Re: Managerial Complaints
Kyoko had been grinding an axe with the CEO for quite some time. If anything was going to push the issue over the edge, it would have been this situation here. A situation in which the safety and well-being of someone Akan loved could be called into question but the actions or inactions of upper management like Dan DeFranco.
Of course, injuries both minor and major came with the territory of being a professional wrestler. But there was no time to debate that. Dan simply nodded and subtlety mouthed back, "I know." behind Touka's back as she signed in an attempt to keep things ambiguous. He allowed the moment to be dictated by the excitement of a new signee and the addition of another Akan to the LAW roster. Dan looked over Touka's signature and extended his hand to shake hers, honoring the deal as being official.
"Winning and hand-raising aside, we're very happy to have you. Hopefully, this means you and your sweet daughter get to spend more family time together"

Re: Managerial Complaints
Touka was very careful in reading over the contract, but everything seemed above board or what she expected and there was no shady deal in the background. Content she made her signature and handed it it to Dan, along with her hand to extend and give her new boss. "Thank you. Im eager to see what I can bring to the table, and of course im eager to see my childrens success up close." Touka said before turning around and giving Kyoko a hug. After taking a second she bowed to Dan once more and made her exit leaving Kyoko and Dan alone in the room. Kyoko waited a whole 10 seconds to make sure Touka was gone before she said anything.
"Well..You already know what happens now. This wont be the last time ill be here, so you better keep me in the back of your head. " Kyoko finished before turning around and leaving herself, her mind a complex mix of emotions that wasnt going to go away anytime soon.
