Alaina nodded and agreed with Dana. "Yeah, it seems like workouts and matches take longer to prepare for and much longer to recover from regardless of the outcome these days." She listened to Dana and this is part of where the two women differed in opinion.
When it became Alaina's turn she smiled and stretched. "I saw the women of today in the ring and I also wanted to be part of it although I don't just wrestle for the sake of it. Part of me says that I need to be there for my kids but the urge to wrestle again ate away at me. Charlie understood it. They knew I had to get it fully out of my system before I could focus totally on being a mom. I am lucky enough my husband has completely embraced fatherhood the way he has." Alaina said with a smile.
After a brief pause Alaina did add one final thought. "The biggest reason I came back though was that I always did my best to show that I was the best woman to set foot in a ring. I came back to show that I still am. I still think I will win every match regardless of who steps in the ring against me. once I feel like my body has gotten to the point where no matter how hard I try I fall short of my standard of #1 female wrestler on the planet then I will retire again, this time for good. I imagine I'd hang around doing interviews or training but if I am not the best in the ring then my biggest reason for wrestling will be gone." Alaina said as she looked back to the interviewer, awaiting the next question.

Re: Two Longtime Rivals, One Interview
Dana always knew that Alaina was competitive, not content to be merely a good wrestler. She always wanted to be the best to the point where Dana thought was rather unhealthy. Once Alaina was done with her answer, Dana just sighed before she said, "Well... not that I have any problem with that way of thinking, but... don't you think it's a rather... warped way of thinking? I mean... it's good to be the best among the best. But, at some points of our lives, we just hit the ceiling, and there is only slow decline from there."
Dana looked at Alaina as she continued, "I already made peace with the fact that I'm already way past my prime, and I have nothing else to prove at this point of my life. Of course, I have no problem showing the youngsters how better I am compared to them," she shrugged, saying as if it was the most obvious thing there was.

Re: Two Longtime Rivals, One Interview
"I am here to be the best, anything short of that means I can't live up to my own standard. Once I am only "very good" at best instead of "great" then I will retire again for good. I know that means I likely won't wrestle until I am 50 or anything but I know I can still deliver right now." Alaina added.
Again clearing his throat the interviewer looked up ready with a question. "All right, what do you feel you do better than your opponent across from you and what do you think she does better than you?" The man said looking back up at the women.
Alaina was quiet for a moment and had to think about this one for a while. "Well there are a lot of things we both do roughly equally well. Neither of us has what I would call a glaring weakness. We are both agile and mobile for women our size. We both have a lot of experience to fall back on. I think I have consistently been just a bit more muscular, physically a bit stronger than Dana. I feel like I can handle more punishment that just about anyone in a wrestling ring. I may be a bit faster with more springboard and aerial offense." Alaina said flexing an arm and blowing a kiss to the crowd. "however, Dana has an amazing sense of ring-smarts. I am great in that department but in terms of cunning she is second to none. It is a counter to my intensity. She also has amazing technique and know-how that are top notch. I'm no slouch in the areas she has an edge, and the same goes for her in regards to things I am better at." Alaina said as she looked over at Dana interested in what she had to say.

Re: Two Longtime Rivals, One Interview
Dana listened to what Alaina was saying, nodding her head a few times as she digested what her rival told the interviewer. When it was her turn, she crossed her arms under her ample chest, tilting her head before saying, "Well, just like she said, none of us has any glaring weakness, and we're pretty mobile for women around our size. But if there is one thing that I think I'm better at, I believe it's my awareness in the ring. It's hard to describe, but in the ring, it is hard to catch me off-guard. It feels like I have a third eye at the back of my head," she made a gesture, bringing her hand onto the back of her head, jokingly indicating that she might have a third eye over there.
"If she excels in the brawn part, I'm more into the brain part. I usually plan three or four steps ahead of my opponent, focusing on counters and diversion, doing fake-outs and feints." She chuckled to herself after saying that. "Of course that makes me a little sneaky in the ring. I'm not afraid to do underhanded stuff if I believe I can get away with it. Still, it's not like I'm not good at doing things like somersaults and flips in the ring, though I rarely use it now that I'm this thick and in my age, hehe..." she laughed again. "Also, like she said before, Ally is superior in terms of physical strength and has more pronounced muscles. Not that I'm lacking in that department, mind you..."
"Overall, I think the two of us are pretty much equals. It's hard to determine which one of us is going to win if we are to face each other again the ring..." Dana concluded.

Re: Two Longtime Rivals, One Interview
The interviewer nodded and paused for a second looking as if he were running out of questions. "If you two face one another again what match type would you prefer?"
Alaina tapped her finger against her chin before smiling a bit. "I would have to say it is a toss up between a cage or hell in a cell. Something confined. I feel like I can really bring my best in a setting such as that." Alaina said as she looked over at Dana.

Re: Two Longtime Rivals, One Interview
Hearing the question, Dana looked at Alaina to listen to her answer. When it was her turn to answer, she gave it some thought before answering, "As for me, I prefer a little bit of chaos once in a while. So, I'd say I prefer falls count anywhere match or any type of match where the fight itself spilling out beyond the ring. Heck, I wouldn't mind a parking lot match or boiler room match. It lets me be creative with the chaotic environment..." Dana finished.
Then, she would wait for the next question from the interviewer, glancing at Alaina as she did so.

Re: Two Longtime Rivals, One Interview
The interviewer grinned and shuffled through the cards again, coming across one that seemed to be a good one. "All right, obviously you both face one another a lot. Who else in LAW do you consider to be a top rival and challenge for you?"
Alaina sat back and smiled. She had been in LAW a lot longer and had made quite a few rivals as well as flat out enemies. "I mean, Karen Starring has gone out of her way to attack me when I'm not looking so I would say she is up there as well as the woman whom I dislike the most. The respect I have for women like Dana is absent when I think of Karen Starring. She just doesn't deserve it. Katherine Hart is another one, I've wrestled her plenty and while she is great I feel like I am still just a bit better. We've fought evenly since I came back, but me in my prime was just something I consider a bit better than what she can bring by a narrow margin although I say that about just about everyone." Alaina said as she shrugged her shoulders.

Re: Two Longtime Rivals, One Interview
Listening to the interviewer's question, Dana thought about it for a bit before answering, "Well, I've been in LAW for not too long, so I don't think I have anyone I can consider my top rival or anything, besides Ally, of course..." Dana pointed her thumb at Alaina. "But I guess I consider Wicke Sykes to be the top candidate for my rival, considering that she defeated me during my debut..." Dana nodded. Then, she said no more, waiting for the next question from the interviewer.

Re: Two Longtime Rivals, One Interview
"Excellent. Who do you think is the woman that you will pass the torch to so to speak when you do eventually retire? I mean, who do you see as the future face of women's wrestling?"
This was another good one. Alaina sat back and thought to herself for a second. "I mean, I am training Tina who is already middleweight champion. She is 20 years old and I only see her getting better. She is an obvious choice for me among middleweights since she does everything really well. Samuela Healthy and Katherine Hart are probably the future heavyweights who will carry on and continue to popularize women wrestling as far as I know. Among lightweights I think that Asuka and GASTER are both very good, active wrestlers who prove that small women can hang with just about anyone." Alaina said as she looked over at the others. "The future is bright as far as I can tell. Women wrestling in Japan has always been way better at being seen as competitive as opposed to a T&A sideshow. However I feel like a lot of women like Dana and I have worked to change that to bring the rest of the world up to speed with Japan."

Re: Two Longtime Rivals, One Interview
Dana listened to Alaina's answers first before it was her turn to answer. "It's obvious enough that I'm training my daughters so that I can pass the torch to them. They're probably still young, but they have potential to be great in this industry." She shrugged. "As for the future face of women wrestling, I can't say for sure for LAW. I mean, I'm still pretty new here, but I'm sure there are a lot of promising ones here who will show their worth in the ring. So, I can say that the future of women wrestling is pretty bright..." she said, finishing her answer.
