Playing Nice - Katsumi Oshiro vs Elena Monroe

Still trapped in the hold, Elena continued her helpless struggling. She just couldn't manage to break free, but she couldn't just give up! She kept thrashing about as the punk princess whispered seductively to her, feeling like she was about to cry. It wasn't from pain, but frustration. No matter how hard she tried, she kept getting beaten so easily. We're the women at LAW really that much better? Maybe she didn't belong here...

The crowd's reaction was mixed. Some people had come just to see Elena lose and hoped Katsumi would drag things out a bit longer. Others were bored and hoped she would just end things now. They weren't interested in watching yet another jobber get pummeled senseless. But everyone agreed that Elena was way out of her depth.

Suddenly, Elena felt the hold around her loosen. She still couldn't move freely, but it didn't hurt anymore. This was her chance. If she really didn't belong here, then Katsumi would make sure she knew, but she still had to try. Elena struggled harder than before, all the muscles in her arms tensing as she tried to power out of Katsumi's grasp.

As she struggled, her gaze lifted and met her opponent's. There was a look of desperation in her eyes, but behind that there was a small defiant glimmer of determination. She couldn't help but notice the equally uncertain look on the punk princess' face, but she had no time to dwell on it. The next few moments could decide Elena's future in wrestling, or if she even had one.

So many factors all weighing in at once. So many angles to consider. The one least on her mind was the audience. Katsumi was a recipient of both boos and cheers; it all paid the bills, it all fed her energy. But the noise right now is static. Her sharp-eyed focus is on the girl struggling against an impossible predicament, like a wounded deer caught in a snare.

The struggling redoubles, and Katsumi instinctively tightens up on her in response. And then-- Elena seems to break free! Powering out! Muscling her way to success, against the odds! Katsumi's arms are thrown widely to either side, and the Punk Princess takes a single step back.

This might suck. It might suck a lot. But she couldn't let this girl go out like that. She couldn't be responsible for killing someone's love of professional wrestling. She wouldn't be. If that means making herself look less than she is.. maybe it's worth it? Maybe it'll be nice to have a reason to be proud of herself for something good. Something nice.

She's still going to beat her in the end. But the opening she's giving Elena, playing into the shock of the moment with wide eyes and mouth slightly open, she expects pain is incoming.

After a long struggle, it seemed as though Elena would finally manage to break free. It seemed her opponent sensed this as well as she quickly tightened her hold on the poor girl. But Elena refused to go down and, with a final burst of strength, she threw her Katsumi's arms off of her and could move freely for the first time all match.

Her body aches, but if she took time to recover Katsumi would be on her again. She would have time to rest when her opponent was down. "YAAAAHHH!!!" Elena pulled her arm back and screamed out before sending her elbow right into the punk princess' surprised face.

If the blow landed, the impact would make Katsumi spin around. Elena would then turn her back to her and reach behind, trying to grab her opponent by the neck and drop down to her butt, attempting to stun Katsumi with a sitout neckbreaker.

This is gonna suck, this is gonna suck, this is gonna suck, this is stupid, this is stupid, this is stupid...

Wrestling's meant to be rough. It's a full-contact sport. People get extra-curricular with what's allowed all the time. Katsumi is no different. She expects to beat up whoever's in the ring with her. Technically, she could just grapple with the person and wrestle them down to the mat with technical prowess, to maneuver and struggle with them, wearing them down with holds and pinning maneuvers. But that's not as fun. That's not as exciting. And it's rarely as efficient as blasting a foot into the opponent's gut. And she fully expects the other girl to try the same tactics with her. So when wrestling hurts and leaves her with aches, she never complains.

It's meant to hurt. It's a good hurt. It's an electrical, invigorating kind of hurt.

But this just seems stupid. Offering up her body for a newbie to whale on, risking injury, over what? A sense of duty? Kindness? If this is what kindness is--

Katsumi takes the elbow to the face. "Ahn!," she cries out, turning sharply aside. She finds her head hooked and yanked back, gravity doing most of the work for them before bringing her neck to collide over Elena's shoulder. The Punk Princess straightens with a yelp before falling forward, both arms cradling her neck. She rolls over onto her back, eyes screwed shut. That's not acting. That really hurt.

...if this is what kindness is, kindness freaking sucks.

Elena sat there for a moment after the neckbreaker. Her little burst of adrenaline was wearing off and the pain in her back quickly returned. She turned to look at Katsumi, who was writhing around on the mat. She needed to press this advantage but it was hard to do that when she was still in so much pain.

As weak as Elena was, she was pretty sharp. The neckbreaker had clearly done a number on Katsumi from the way she clutched her neck. So Elena flipped her over onto her stomach and sat down on her back. "Alright, my turn now Katsumi!"

Elena pulled her opponent's arms over her knees and clasped her hands together under her chin. She then wrenched back, locking the punk princess into a camel clutch. The move would give Elena time to recover while also applying more pressure to the neck of her opponent. It was almost like Elena was trying to pull her head right off, oblivious to Katsumi's act of kindness.

Katsumi's mind is abuzz with the white haze of pain and regret. She knew this was a bad idea, everything in her knew it! Since when did she turn into a softie, anyway!? Who's that going to impress!? Management won't look at that and think she deserves much of anything!

She finds herself rolled over onto her stomach, genuinely unable to resist in her daze. She feels the girl's weight settle onto her lower back just above her rear, and her arms taken.

Oh crap. Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap-

The arms are hooked over Elena's knees. She has only a few seconds to take some critical breaths, attempting to brace herself for what's coming before--

"AAHH!"

Katsumi's eyes squeeze shut as her spine is twisted back, everything straining in the hold. Her boots flutterkick uselessly against the mat as she suffers, her chest heaving with every tense breath. The cameras flash relentlessly to immortalize the moment, capturing Katsumi's agonized body pulled taut backwards and Elena's dominant position over her.

Elena kept the hold locked in tight, wrenching back hard as she took advantage of her newfound dominant position. She was trying to focus on the match but the camera flashes were hard to ignore. Maybe she was having too much fun being on top for once but she just couldn't help but turn her head and give a little wink to the cameras.

A wave of confidence washed over Elena as she heard Katsumi scream in pain. It wasn't that she enjoyed it, but it felt good to be winning. Now she just needed to make sure things stayed that way. She couldn't afford to get fancy, but she also couldn't just sit here forever and hope Katsumi tapped.

"Get ready, Katsumi!" Elena took a deep breath and grit her teeth as she pulled back even further, lifting more of the punk princess' body off the mat like she was trying to bend her in half. "Nnnngghh!" Elena groaned as she strained herself trying to maintain the hold. Eventually though she would lose her grip. Her hands became unclasped and she inadvertently sent Katsumi's head into the mat like a slingshot.

Katsumi, already straining in the unnatural angle from the position, was caught in a love-hate relationship with the moment. She can totally love that Elena's clearly not feeling worthless. She can also totally hate the pain, and the fact that the cameras are capturing the predicament forever. And when the angle intensifies further, it wrenches a fresh scream from Katsumi.

"Aaaaah!"

Eyes squeeze shut, her feet flutter-kicking faster against the mat behind her.

The tighter angle gives her arms a little more slack, as a vague silver lining. Amidst the trembling under the pain of the hold, feeling her back aflame with torture, she manages to push her right arm over Elena's knee to find freedom. The hand immediately seizes upon her wrist - only for it to not be necessary. The grip slips entirely, and Katsumi's upper-half snaps forward to right the anatomical wrong it had been subjected to. Katsumi slams chest and face-first into the mat in a dull thud.

Katsumi, stunned, lies facedown on the mat, one arm stretched out before her, the other arm likely lying closer to her side.

"Oops!" Elena's hand shot up to cover her mouth in surprise as Katsumi hit the mat face first. She let out a nervous giggle, one that might lead someone to believe she did it intentionally if they didn't know her. Though she intended to hurt her anyway so it's not like her little screwup mattered much.

With her opponent stunned on the mat, Elena got to her feet and leaned over. Her arms wrapped around Katsumi's waste and began gently lifting her up. Once the Punk Princess was about to leave the mat Elena paused. She took a deep breath and, with great effort, lifted Katsumi up by the waist. She used that momentum to heave her up and over, attempting to throw her back with a German suplex that would leave her folded up in perfect pinning position. And if all went according to plan, Elena would indeed go for the pin, pinning Katsumi's legs down on the mat next to her head.

Katsumi, dazed on the mat, isn't thinking too clearly. Not with the full wherewithal she'd rather have right now, in retrospect. The only thing banging around in her head is a mixture of "GET UP" and "IDIOT". Her arms slide along the mat as she recollects herself, until she's pawing against the canvas. She doesn't get any further than steepling her elbows before she feels a pair of arms wrap around her waist from behind.

Unable to fight back yet, she's drawn to her full height, leaning back against Elena's chest. Her hands set over the other girl's wrists, but she finds herself being pulled higher. Her boots leave the ground, until only the gold-capped toes are scraping the surface. Then an arch, and - BAM. The ring shakes beneath her as her head and shoulders impact the mat.

This genuinely stuns the punkette. Her arms flop against the mat, her legs hanging over her in a perfect curve, body folded in over itself. Whether Elena chooses to remain bridged, hugging her midsection, or she opts to turn around to pin her as-is, it makes no difference. Katsumi isn't going anywhere just yet.

Eyes partly opened to stare blankly up at her own hips, she's dimly aware of the referee-girl dropping beside her.

"ONE!," she slaps the mat.
