The Competition - Katsumi and Tina Armstrong

"Oh, Hell, you kiddin' me?," asks Katsumi with raised eyebrows. "She's with this group now? So I might end up wrestling Alaina?" That's heavy. But it's a tremendous opportunity at the same time. If she could pin Alaina, that'd be an accomplishment. She'd be making a name for herself; a solid push for her career.

Yeah. Pretty heavy. She had no idea who all would be with this promotion. Now she's starting to get a feel for it.

Katsumi's gaze refocuses on the trim girl before her. Her only experience beyond this was a tiny little local fed'? Granted, her experience wasn't too different, but she didn't view it as small-time. She poured her heart and soul into it, and came to be recognized as one of their top contenders. Tina, on the other hand, seems perhaps uncertain. Could she use that?

"Hey, step into the ring with me and I'll show ya how good a legit promotion can turn someone out," challenges the girl with a cant of her head and wry smile. "Might even learn a thing or two - if you're still conscious by the one, two, and three!"

Somehow trash-talking Tina made her feel a little more comfortable, more relaxed. But it aside, Katsumi had been posed a question. She raises the handles of the jumprope she'd been using indicatively. "Cardio and legs. Did a little weight training with the free weights, too."

Tina smiled as Katsumi began to look confident, and speak in a very confident tone. "You knock me out, or pin me that easily? Girl, ya don't get into the middleweight title tournament at 19 because of luck lass." Tina said with a grin as she stood tall with her hands on her hips, taking a step closer to Katsumi,

"I just had a leg day so we both look equally tired from that. No excuses for ya when I show ya the alpha tigress o' this here ring lass." Tina said before strutting over to the ring, sliding underneath the bottom rope and into the ring. Tina stood tall in the enter, beckoning Katsumi over with her hand. "Standard match rules? Honor system for pin counts n' such. Ya don't seem like a cheater..."

Tina bounced around from foot to foot. She hoped her physique would make Katsumi expect someone who was solely a power wrestler. Sure, being an Alaina fan and trainee with her figure meant it was her primary go to.... but she was almost as fast as she was strong. On the same token, she also knew there was more to Katsumi than meets the eye. any woman good enough to get a contract was worth respecting inside the ropes.

Tina meets Katsumi's brass with brass of her own, and even steps forward. Katsumi likes that. That's more like it. She also steps forward, closing the distance with her. Deep green eyes affix to her browns, standing chest to chest with her, biting back any concerns for her upcoming match. The only thing she wants Tina to see right now is a steely confidence and near-trademarked wicked smile.

"No. You got into that tournament because I wasn't here yet."

As Tina heads for the ring, Katsumi is shortly behind her. Given a moment where she isn't being scrutinized by the tan girl, she swallows heavily again. Nerves. Ugh. This could be useful! She's sweaty and worn out from her training, but actually wrestling someone could be a better warmup for her match than any routine.

"Standard match rules. Count off the pins," Katsumi nods. She doesn't comment on the cheating. No, she doesn't cheat - not during spars or training. She's coming into this planning to just match her strength and skill against Tina's, and hopefully get a little momentum stored for the debut to come. Maybe even some notoriety, if this chick is as much hot crap as she suggests.

Katsumi climbs onto the ring apron and rolls beneath the bottom rope onto the mat. When she stands, she moves towards the center of the ring to begin circling her opponent, bobbing on her toes a few times...

And they're off!

Katsumi suddenly surges forward, attempting an abrupt and forceful lockup with Tina. Her hands grab for the girl's shoulder and collar, frame tensed as she pours her strength into it hoping to take an early lead.

Tina stands ready as she watches Katsumi enter the ring. The 19 year old foreigner stands our a bit among a primarily Japanese crowd, but doesn't let that get to her. Standing out if how you make a name for yourself after all.

Tina holds her hands up and locked up with Katsumi, whonliterally crashes into her! "W-whoa!"

Katsumi is stronger than Tina expects, but the alpha tigress in Tina won't let her think that she is stronger than Tina herself! After staggering back a few steps Tina stone walls Katsumi's progress. "Not bad lass..... but not bad isn't good enough 'gainst this lady!"

Tina groaned and pushed back, trying to counter Katsumi's burst of energy with her own!

Calf muscles already tired from her workout, it's difficult for Katsumi to brace herself and dig in when Tina suddenly redoubles the struggle back against her! "Nnh..!" Eyes widen, and the girl finds herself pressured back steadily step by step. She manages to keep her back straight, but she ultimately finds herself pushed back into the ropes of the ring.

With an annoyed look, Katsumi raises her arms to break the grapple with the expectation that Tina will back up off of her. She wanted to take the blonde by surprise during the lockup, but this is a straight contest. There's nothing to win here but pride and bragging rights, a place in the pecking order. She wants that, but she's not going to get it by being sneaky.

"Don't you worry, kitten," Katsumi says finally. "We're just getting started!"

Tina sees Katsumi's hands go up and she backs off, smiling as she does. "Kitten? Oh my dear slim buddy ya have no idea..."

Tina grinned and let Katsumi step away from the ropes, but would be ready to spring into action as soon as she did! Tina would jump up and kick her legs out at Katsumi as she tried to plant her right in the chest with a dropkick!

Katsumi steps forward, her mind already working on ways to bring Tina down. Unfortunately for her, Tina has the advantage of space and opportunity, the Punk Princess trapped and essentially forced to walk directly towards her. And before she can do anything about it, a pair of feet slam into her chest!

"Hhff!"

Her back hits the ropes and bounces her forward to land on the mat on her front. Her left arm crosses her chest and she rolls over onto her back with a groan.

Tina saw the aftermath of the dropkick and smiled. She loved the fact that she was in the same mold as Mighty Yukiko, they were women who could do anything in the ring and had a few things they excelled at. Tina made her way over towards Katsumi and pulled her up by the arm, moving in to try to grab hold of the woman.

Tina grabbed one arm and backed her hip against Katsumi, trying to keep up her momentum by sending Katsumi tumbling back to the mat with a hip toss!

Katsumi doesn't seem to be getting a break here, her arm grabbed. The girl's sweat-soaked skin sticks a little to the mat as she's peeled of and up to her feet, and though she's tired and has an aching chest, she's tuned in. She's in a bad position, and she needs an opening to turn things around. If Tina continues to pressure her in tight quarters, she may have a problem.

Tina hooks the girl's arm and pulls, drawing the smaller female into the air for a hip toss! The rotation goes off smoothly, but the moment she's turned over, Katsumi's legs kick out to plant her feet firmly on the mat to halt her plummet and demonstrate a taste of what she brings to the table! With her back turned to Tina upon landing and likely only a second's worth of opening, she pops into the air and fires both feet back at Tina's torso in a close-quarters double mule kick! After the strike, hit or miss, Katsumi hits the mat on her forearms to smoothly roll forward and end right back on her feet in a full display of acrobatic finesse and physical control.

Tina thought she had a nice little momentum wave going against Katsumi, but she had underestimated what her opponent could do! Taking the mule kick right in the chest, Tina groaned and fell back onto her back looking up at the lights before getting up. Her chest was still sore and she rubbed it as she got up to her feet, keeping an eye on Katsumi.

Tina circled a bit as she sized up Katsumi. What to do, what to do.... Tina moved in again, this time more cautiously and deliberately. Tina appeared to go for a grapple again, but would lunge in and lead with her knee, trying to catch Katsumi off guard with a knee strike to the abdomen!
