“The Anomaly” Jonathan Steele vs. Selket (The Anomaly’s Sanctuary Match (Cinematic Match)

Lyra choked Selket out ruthlessly and gave Jonathan enough time to manage his escape route as he smirked. However, Selket was far more powerful than the middleweight as Selket easily hoisted Lyra up by her wrists and displayed her strength. The priestess ran forward with a charge sending Lyra through the air as Jonathan ran to catch her. Lyra landed in his arms, but gravity brought him and her down on the hard floor as loud groaning could be heard. If Selket expected cries of mercy after that little display of might, as if.

“Hahahahahahahahaha! Nice throw, Selket. Should’ve been in the Olympics. You might’ve actually won gold there,” Jonathan taunted as he got to his feet. “All those powers and you couldn’t even best Astrid Ostberg. I’m starting to notice a pattern with Astrid’s foes. Talk a big game and get annihilated. And before you bring up Rose, it was a tainted victory at best. She got demolished and every fool in LAW knows that. A queen doesn’t run from her foes like Rose did after their encounter. I’d even say you’re more of a threat than Rose. Though, that’s not saying by a far margin.”

Despite being blindsided by one of his helpers Selket wasn't one to be on the back foot for long, and even with the element of surprise it wasn't a big enough edge to overcome her, and instead she sought to weaponize the interloper, lobbing her at Jonathan before he could get up fully to take him back down to the mat. Despite this however it had no effect on Jonathan's confidence as he continued to mock Selket and act as if he had a edge, even bringing up her losing effort to Astrid.

"Insolent fool." She hissed towards the man as she sauntered forward, a dangerous look in her gaze as she approached. "I am the one that came closest to beating that fool Astrid, she had to nearly destroy herself just to put me down, and the next time I get my hands on her she's done for good." She hissed before smiling sinisterly. "But what does that say about you? Needing a little girl to even the odds against me. How pathetic." She said mockingly before releasing a small string of chuckles at what she said.

[Pegasus]

Jonathan listened to Selket drone on about how she almost defeated Astrid and just needed one more match to prove she could get the job done. It was honestly pathetic to see such a higher being plead their case. It strips their credibility from them and they have no ego left to boast with. He saw that his words got to Selket and so much so that she tried intimidation on him by coming forward, but Jonathan matched her pace.

“You should’ve done it the first time, priestess. You’re not as strong as you claim to be,” Jonathan explained with a hardened glare.

Selket then mocked Jonathan for needing Lyra to help even the odds, but she was the last person to talk him down to play fair. He just chuckled himself and pushed Selket backwards inviting another fight.

“It says that I’m smarter than most of your fallen victims. They couldn’t stand up to someone like you, because of your antics and now, you feel threatened when someone of equal power opposes you. You may rule the lands of sand, but I rule the dimensions of darkness. We don’t compare and you’ll soon see that enough. Lyra, give me some smoke,” Jonathan instructed.

Lyra nodded from underneath her cloak as she dropped some pellets and it caused some white smoke to start rising as Jonathan disappeared into it. It surrounded Selket as it used one of her own antics against her that she used earlier. To know your enemy, you have to become your enemy as the saying goes. Selket would no doubt be on guard, but The Anomaly stalked from behind as it charged in with a Lariat attempt to the back of her head! If that succeeded, Anomaly tried locking in the Mandible Claw on Selket’s mouth.

Jonathan or the Anomaly, whoever or whatever she was fighting right now was starting to grate on her nerves. The bastard had the audacity to try her own tricks against her, let alone mocking her and trying to twist her words around. Even when she was the one intent on mocking him! "Foolish..." She hissed to herself as the man retorted to what she said about Astrid, the purple haired woman's blood near boiling by the end of it.

"You know nothing!" Selket snapped, not caring for Jonathan's excuses for using a disciple of his before said girl threw down a smoke bomb to cover him and the area. "Tch.. My own tricks against me again? You're as uncreative as you are hypocritical..." Selket hissed out before getting attacked from behind!

"Ngh!" She groaned out in pain, taken down to the mat before being rolled over and feeling fingers enter her mouth! "Nghhhh grhhhhh!" Yelling muffled in a mix of pain and fury Selket would struggle like a beast before Jonathan, before narrowing her eyes in a glare and doing the only thing she could... biting down on the Anaomaly's fingers as tight and painfully as possible!

The Anomaly cinched in the hold pretty tightly thrashing around with Selket as the two supernaturalists fought it out. However, Selket bit down on the controlling hand of the demon causing the monster to back away with low demonic growl. He simply waved off the bite as he circled Selket making sure to keep a good eye on her. While in this new form, The Anomaly felt no pain and could use psychological tricks to his leisure to gain any advantage. He stepped up and he delivered as Selket would now feel a wrath from the depths of darkness itself! However, The Anomaly retreated back into the smoke to stalk some more.

Selket may have thought he was retreating in fear, but the mind games were only beginning for the priestess. The Anomaly started activating his voice modulator that sampled the different voices in LAW and could make Jonathan sound like anyone he wanted. Demons were known for their trickery and voice manipulation to lure prey in. Time to put it to the test. He switched the device on and started speaking in a very familiar voice to Selket.

“What’s the matter, Selket? Can’t take what you normally dish out? Can’t be bothered to admit when you’re a coward? I should’ve known better. You aren’t scary in the slightest. Just a cheap magician that has to use smoke and mirrors to hide her weakness. It was evident when you interrupted mine and Tina’s title match. You’re too scared to face me again,” Astrid Ostberg’s voice spoke through the smoke surrounding Selket.

Astrid is here? That can’t be true, right? The Norwegian traveled all the way out here? With a demon? To settle the score? Even if Selket didn’t believe that, it was mainly to get under her skin. However, The Anomaly switched on another voice that would really drive a nail to the nerves.

“Like I said before, Selket….I’m done with the mind games so me and Astrid decided to try some for ourselves. We might have had to make a deal with the devil to do it, but so be it,” Tina Kelley’s voice came through this time.

Hopefully, Selket’s mind would be wrapped around trying to make sense of all this. Her two worst enemies teaming with The Anomaly against her? Lyra would come from behind with her spear and try to crack it against Selket’s back and repeatedly do it as the smoke would finally clear.

Selket had been blindsided once again by Jonathan or the Anomaly or whatever the hell the man was calling himself right now. This time however he was using a sustained submission against her... one that she herself used, once again whether or not unintentional he was using her own bag against her and it was pissing the priestess off. Luckily this particular move wasn't TOO difficult to force her way out of, all she needed was a well placed bite with enough force to make the man let go and back off from her.

This would only be a temporary solution though. Despite getting him to retreat from her temporarily she knew the Anomaly was still around her, as evidenced by the thick smoke, all but signaling an attack soon. Or so she thought at least. Instead Selket was treated to a familiar and grating voice of a certain champion. Gritting her teeth furiously and balling her hands into fists Selket would look around relentlessly, trying to figure out if this was a trick or if Astrid had actually come down here just to take part in her downfall. Both were equally possible at least....

Soon enough however Astrid's voice was followed by another, this time one Tina Kelley, who Selket had a ppv match lined up against... And once again forced to ponder if this was actually her or a trick given the likely possibility of both. "Grrrrr if either of you are actually here than prove yourselves not hypocrites and come out!" Selket demanded in a blistering mix of pride, frustration, and raw fury scathing her voice as she looked around furiously trying to find her opponent... or opponents.

Selket would get an answer sooner rather than later, but not in the way she had thought at least. Rather than Astrid or Tina coming out to face her she was instead struck in the back by a hard wooden object "Gah!" Selket hissed out in pain, her whole back seizing up and knees locking from the initial reaction. Before more hits came in.

"Ngh! Guh! Agh!" She gasped out in pain with each hit, falling onto one knee from the sheer force of the blows before looking up over her shoulder with a furious glare and reaching out, managing to grab the spear as it came close, managing to grab it out of the air before using her raw power to pull forward, yanking it out of Lyra's hands and, if successful, reversing the grip and swinging it forward to smash it against the blonde's head, with enough force that if it connected, the spear would break in half from the force!

[Pegasus]

The plan worked to perfection as Selket fell for Astrid and Tina being there allowing Lyra to go on the offensive. Lyra got three more hits in before the priestess had enough. She yanked the spear from Lyra’s grasp before breaking the weapon over the cloaked blonde’s head making Lyra scream in pain going on her knees. However, before Selket could hurt Lyra further, The Anomaly barreled her with a right elbow to the back of the head. If that worked, The Anomaly would grab and throw her out of the smoke hopefully making her cough on her way back to the floor!

The Anomaly exited himself and grabbed Selket again kneeing her head with his right knee. With Selket groveling before him, The Anomaly grabbed her up throwing her straight into the fountain of water on her back! From there, The Anomaly held down Selket with his hands on her chest for a pin. Lyra crawled over to act as referee and started slapping the water.

“1!”

Selket hated to admit it, loathe it even... but she had been tricked. The voices of Tina and Astrid had set off long standing paranoia that either woman may jump at the opportunity to get even with her, especially with her rematch against Tina coming up soon. As a result she had been caught off guard by Jonathan's lackey and attacked... But not for long once Selket got her hands on the brat and attack back. Yet before she could really get payback on the blonde Selket found herself attacked once again with an elbow to the head and thrown out of the smoke cloud all together!

"Ngh! Ack! Guh!" She grunted out in between coughs from exiting the smoke screen, preoccupied by this to the point that her opponent would once again attack her, this time kneeing her in the head, immediately making the Egyptian see stars before getting tossed once more into a fountain of water! "Ughhh...." Groaning from the rough treatment but woken up somewhat by the water Selket was treated to the Anomaly pinning her down while the brat from earlier began to count.

"TWO!"

Knowing she didn't have much time Selket would swathe her hand through the water, sending a splash right into Lyra's eyes to distract her from continuing the count! But that would only buy her seconds at best and Selket needed a more substantial solution to her problem. So looking up at the man before her Selket would bite her lip... or so it would seem... But in reality she was breaking a capsule in her mouth before suddenly spitting forward, spraying purple mist into the Anomaly's face!

[Pegasus]

The Anomaly kept ahold of Selket as she was pinned down tightly in the water and Lyra slapped the liquid for the second count. However, Selket swatted one of her free hands to blind Lyra as the cloaked woman screamed in agony trying to wipe her eyes quickly from beneath her cloak. This distracted the demon as he reached out for Lyra, but a spray of purple sparkling mist blinded him as The Anomaly screamed in pain. How could this be? Normally, the demon was immune to pain like this even to the point where Misako nearly dented a chair over his head ten times over and nothing fazed him.

The demon wiped his eyes of the mist spattering some of it on the floor and regained partial vision, but he could only see out of one eye. Lyra recovered as well crawling back to her feet as her eyes still stung of water. The Anomaly felt a little different himself as he looked the same, but the pain was definitely enough to take a hit on him. Had Selket found a way around his defenses?

Jonathan or the Anomaly or whatever the hell he was calling himself didn't know what he was doing, bombarding Selket in such a way and trying to pin her. What he did was the same as cornering a wild animal and expecting to corral it easily without getting bitten. It was the same as invoking the goddesses wrath and now Selket would make her foe pay for it. Starting by blinding both him and his little underling.

Getting up out of the water Selket noticed the man having a particularly negative reaction to the mist and smirked. "Aw is the big bad demon so easily taken?" Selket asked mockingly as she approached, water dripping from her form, bending low as she approached would seek to get some revenge by launching her arm up into a massive low blow against her male opponent! Demon or not.. he still had the same weak areas as a man.

Should this move land successfully and stun the Anomaly than Selket would seek to take immediate advantage of it by forcing him to kneel to her and then grabbing a tight hold of his throat. "This is what you get for challenging me." She hissed out in a deadly tone as she began pushing forward, forcing him backwards, back towards the fountain before grabbing hold of his arm and with a sucked in breath Selket would seek to pull the Anomaly up to his feet before lifting him up into the air and then dropping him down head and neck first into the stone edge of the fountain with a choke slam!
