When a comet strikes- Gryff (D) vs Athena!

*The resounding success of his impulsive idea smoothly transitioned into an immediate follow up, consisting of Gryff charging towards the opposite end of the arena to gain some momentum!*

"Already reduced to unintelligible grunts? I think that has to be a personal best~" *The confident comet sneered, tearing through the sky with a dynamic drop kick to Athena's backside!*

With her still reeling from the hit to her face, Athena was left a little stunned, allowing Gryff to continue with his offenses as he made his way towards the ropes, rebounding from them and returning back to where she was. Then, he hit her with a dropkick aimed to her back.

"UGHHH!!"

This time, the attack managed to knock her down, and Athena fell down onto the mat, chest first. Her face scrunched up in pain after being taken down, and as she tried to push herself on all four, she had become an easy target for Gryff to continue with his offenses.

*As the platforms of his cerulean boots popped Athena's spinal column, Gryff extended his hands downward to prevent himself from slamming into the ground below. Eventually crawling over to his prey, the triumphant luchador latched his thighs around the Amazon's unguarded back.*

"Feel free to retract your earlier remark about me at any point~" *Crossing his arms around the groggy bombshell's throat, Gryff was aiming to apply a strangling choke and body scissors combination to leave his larger foe breathless!*

Still reeling in pain, Athena became an easy target for Gryff, who made his way towards her and put her into a combination of bodyscissor and rear naked choke. "Aaaaghhh... gakh..." She gasped, though it was still too early to submit. Hearing Gryff's words, Athena smirked despite her own situation. "Hkhhh... s-still... t-too e-early... for... t-that...!!"

Athena would try to struggle in order to break free from the hold. Despite the damage earlier, she still had plenty left in tank. She would try to roll herself to the side, hoping to get Gryff to let go of her from the hold.

*After firmly locking in his tandem submission to try and force a quick defeat, Athena proved she was no ordinary competitor, managing to shift herself around and displace Gryff, forcing him to abandon his hold all together.* "Grrhh!" *He forlornly mumbled, swinging his legs parallel to Athena while simultaneously reforming his chokehold, focusing more on the base of her neck for a standard guillotine choke!*

"Depends on who you ask- Personally, I think you could use a few more hours of beauty sleep!" *Continuing with his witty repartee with the colossal beauty, the cobalt contender strived to gradually drain whatever remaining energy she had stored with his seemingly unshakable chokehold!*

Athena managed to get Gryff to let go of her, and she wheezed after being let go. Still, she was still in the midst of recovery, which allowed her opponent to continue with his offense, this time seizing her head and putting her into a guillotine choke.

"HKKGHHH...!!"

Groaning as her head was wrenched in the guillotine choke, with her struggling to breathe, Athena would bring her hands onto Gryff's hips. She tried to compose herself before pulled her hands back and then drove her fists right into his kidney areas!

*As the charismatic Hercules continued to wrench and twist against Athena's neck, he could hear the roar of the audience begin to wash over him- The indescribable rush he felt from all the support was enough to encourage him to attempt something rash and reckless, but before he could, he felt a burning sensation against the sides of his midsection, sending him stumbling backwards and against the vacant corner!*

"Gggnnhh!" *He unintelligibly grunted, wrapping his arms around the dangling cords for stability to prevent himself from ricocheting off and into a potentially dangerous situation.* "It wasn't pretty..nnhh..but hey, it was effective enough~" *He backhandedly praised her impromptu counter, contemplating on what his next move should potentially be.*

Thanks to the strikes to her opponent's sides, Athena was let go and she would immediately try to regain her bearing, shaking her head as she looked at the direction of her opponent. Feeling a little winded, she smiled at Gryff who was giving her a backhanded compliment.

"Heh... if it works, it works..." Athena said. She would use this opportunity to catch her breath as she looked at the direction of Gryff who was at the corner. She needed to keep him within her sight so that she could see what he would do next.

Thinking that she should take the initiative, Athena would charge towards Gryff, looking to use her own weight to flatten him between her own body and the turnbuckle, hitting him with a corner splash.

*Despite their earlier animosity towards one another, it seemed as though both combatants were beginning to develop a bit of a bond, albeit quite a volatile one.* "Don't think it'll work again~" *Gryff groggily huffed, gradually realizing that the previous damage she had inflicted upon him had taken more of his expendable vigor than he thought.*

*However, their banter was abruptly cut short when Athena suddenly blitzed into him, slamming her reinforced physique into Gryff with a devastating* "WHUD!" *That would immediately send any average jobber bucking to the ground. This, surprisingly, was not the case for the intrepid meteorite, as he latched his bulging biceps around Athena's supple body for leverage!*

"How...ggrhhh...about we hug our differences out!" *His unleashed a monstrous wail as he hoisted his cargo skyward, cranking his trembling limbs against his adversary's sides for a vertically elevated bearhug! The audience gasped in astonishment at the spectacle they were witnessing, while a handful whistled and hollered in support of their champion!*

Athena's body came crashing into Gryff's own body at the corner, hitting him with a corner splash. But it seemed that Gryff still had enough strength left in him to get his arms around her body, subjecting Athena into a bearhug.

"NNGHHH!!"

Athena was hoisted up in the bearhug, her face showing a pained expression as her opponent squeezed her body with his arms. But Athena wasn't about to let the young man do whatever he wanted as she would bring her free hands up and try to clap them at the sides of his head, right at his ears, hoping to disorient him with the sudden move.
