Well, Dizzy wasn’t living up to her namesake quite yet, though Samiya was willing to bet that backfist probably helped close the gap a little bit.

For a moment, the tattooed fighter leant against the ropes, peering down at the smouldering wreckage with a thoughtful eye. Besides her, she was aware of the referee joining her.

Samiya hated count outs. In her mind, they shared a space with rope breaks – something that she supposed was necessary but mostly seemed to exist just to frustrate her and get in the way of having fun.

She wasn’t thinking about that though as she slipped through the ropes and hopped down to the floor with considerably more grace than Dizzy had used in her plunge. Behind her, the referee had barely started to count.

No, Samiya was thinking about all the ways she could hurt Dizzy.

With that said, she had just been caught off guard once and, as the saying went, ‘fool me once’. Behind her, the ref was just counting three and, while plenty of what she wanted to do to the frailer fighter needed them to be in the ring, that wasn’t true for all of it.

Wasn’t true for quite a lot of it, in fact.

So Samiya had no intentions of finding out if Dizzy was playing possum the hard way. She supposed she could just give the other wrestler a quick nudge but, honestly, that was boring.

Instead, she feinted as though she had exactly that in mind before whipping her leg up to full vertical and then bringing it whipping down towards Belti’s flat tummy in one blurring motion.

So, Dizzy had a few seconds to take stock while waiting for Samiya to follow up. What had she learned? What truths had she uncovered?

Well, there was her strength, particularly below the waist, but that was the obvious stuff. What was becoming more apparent was the skill behind that strength. Though she didn’t think they were too far apart in age, it was pretty clear that the same couldn't be said for their time in training. Samiya had some martial arts thing going on. That spinning fist thing was like something out of a John Wick movie, and she’d already show some killer reflexes to go with those killer thighs. Schoolgirl Assassin? No shit.

So, what could she do against someone like that, superior in every way? Improvise. It seemed like a good strategy, too. Yeah, the referee was counting, but that could work in her favor. Samiya was coming over, she’d pick her up, and then Dizzy could land a quick hit, maybe even scoot into the ring at the right time to get a the count-out win if she was lucky…

Wait, why was Samiya taking so long?

Dizzy opened one eye and looked up, just in time to see one of the legs she admired so much crashing towards her like a headman’s axe, pretty much the exact opposite thing she’d expected Samiya to do. She tried to roll out of the way in time to avoid it, but she only able to get halfway up before it came crashing down, which arguably made it worse - it wasn’t like taking it on her arm and shoulder was any better than the chest.

”Ah, fu-” Wait, Mom was close. ”Fudge. Fudge.” She groaned and rolled about a bit, trying to deal with the pain.

Fool her once, maybe. Fool her twice?

Yeah, not tonight, Dizzy.

Not tonight.

The way Samiya saw it, one of three things was going to happen. Dizzy just lay there and took it (she liked that), Dizzy tried to dodge it and failed (also fine) or Dizzy actually dodged it which… Well, then Samiya’d just kick her again.

Hell, Samiya was probably going to kick her again even if she wasn’t faking. Dizzy was just so eminently kickable. Tough enough to take a hit, scrawny enough to go flying…

Dizzy did try to dodge but left it a bit late, leaving her still in the impact zone as Samiya’s foot came down. Her heel caught the smaller fighter on her arm or collar bone; that had to have hurt. It probably wouldn’t be as immediately debilitating as having the wind knocked out but, long term, she’d just put a target on that arm.

First though, as the droning of the referee reminded her, she needed to get Belti back in the ring or this would all come to an abrupt, unfun end really shortly.

Samiya paused a moment, casting a glance over her shoulder at the announce desk to make sure Mama Belti was staying put. The last thing she needed was an irate mummy bear deciding to step in because her baby was taking a beating but no, still sat down.

Her attention was further distracted by one of the front row choosing this moment to try starting a “You’re so hot” chant, which merely earnt the viewer in question a dismissive ‘duh’ sneer, before Samiya turned back to the business at hand – she stooped, reaching down for Dizzy’s dark brown hair where the smaller girl writhed at her feet.

”C’mon,” The Schoolgirl Assassin grunted, going to pull Dizzy up, ”Wakey, wakey…”

Was Dizzy’s arm broken? No.

Did it feel like it was broken? Yes.

Or something close to it, she imagined. There was this growing numbness coming from the impact zone, and moving it hurt like blazes. It wasn’t that big of a loss, it wasn’t like she would pick Samiya up and slam her anytime soon, but she could tell it would be a constant pain for the rest of the match. Most likely for the next day or so. So there was that to look forward to, yay.

She would live, though. Dizzy rolled over to her chest and started to push her way up, catching sight of her mother and Samiya locking eyes as she rose. The elder Belti wasn’t too crazy about her, she could tell - it was kind of hard to like anyone that was actively beating up your offspring - but she believed in fair play, and wasn’t the type to just barge in on her daughter’s matches unless she thought there was something hazardous about to happen. As long as Samiya played by the rules, she would, too.

Which meant Dizzy was on her lonesome. Just her and the Spanish Kicking Machine with the nice ass.

”I’m waking, I’m waking…” She grunted as Samiya yanked her up by the hair, which she actually didn’t hate all that much, forcing her to stand up. It wasn’t the perfect opening she’d been hoping for, but she knew a window when she saw one - if there was ever a chance for a quick swing, this was it.

Dizzy brought her hands up, trying her best to ignore the pain in her arm as it rose. She took a quick detour to feel up Samiya’s legs as they went, then went higher to pry at Samiya’s grip on her hair…at first. She only fumbled with it for a couple of seconds, before she switched targets and attempted to grab her opponent’s head. She pulled it down against the top of her skull, kicked out her legs, and tried to nail Samiya with a sitout jawbreaker.

Samiya, to nobody’s surprise, ignored Dizzy’s protestations in favour of solidifying her grasp on her opponent’s hair and using that grip to get her back to standing. Then she could roll Dizzy into the ring and get back to what she really wanted to do.

She felt Dizzy’s hands fumbling at her, pushing at the solid bulk of her meaty thighs then at where her fingers laced through the smaller girl’s soft hair, but thought nothing of it. Just trying to take the strain off her neck, probably instinct as much as anything.

If not, well, she’d not be the first to want a feel of Samiya’s thighs. Something she’d be getting her fill of and then some once Samiya got her flat ass back in the ring.

Behind her, the referee was still counting – Samiya hefted Dizzy up; while the smaller girl wasn’t packing much meat on her bones, deadlifting someone off the floor when they weren’t helping wasn’t as simple as it looked either.

Which was when she felt Belti’s hands stop fumbling with her own and instead crawl up her arms to her head. For a moment, Samiya thought she’d go for the eyes, turned her head away-

A sunburst erupted behind Samiya’s eyes, her head snapping back as she reeled back from the sudden shock. Fortunately, the barrier was close behind her; the submissionist caught herself on it, steadying herself on the rail as she recovered from the stunning hit, probing her teeth with her tongue in case any had been loosened.

Her eyes, wide from surprise, rapidly narrowed with irritation.

Success!

Dizzy breathed a quick sigh of relief as she landed her jawbreaker, feeling the impact on the top of her head. That was one of her more reliable money makers - at the end of the day, even her skull could do some damage, didn’t matter how small she was. Now that she’d knocked Samiya down and had her vulnerable, she could come up with a real plan. Maybe capitalize while she was stunned, go for some stomps, even hit her with a frog splash if she wanted to get really crazy, and…

…and…

And Samiya was still standing. ”Meirda.”

That wasn’t to say it was a total bust, she’d still managed to knock her opponent away and do some damage, but not quite what she’d been hoping for. The woman was still on her feet. A little out of it, maybe, but even that wasn’t going to last long. If the pattern she picked up on was anything to go off, then she’d be repaying that damage back soon, probably by caving in Dizzy’s chest. So retreat? Not an option.

Knowing it wasn’t the best idea but also knowing it was better than running away, Dizzy pushed her way up and dashed for, doing her best to ignore the aches in her chest as she moved in. She took a quick detour to hop on the steps for some added height, then leaped off and lunged towards Samiya, drew back her arm, and tried to clobber her with a flying forearm.

From where she leant in a standing sprawl against the barricade, Samiya could have told Dizzy that the ‘still standing’ thing was more a function of having a conveniently placed metal barrier to catch herself on.

Jawbreakers sucked. At least, Samiya hadn’t bitten her tongue on the way down - though that particular silver lining wasn’t doing much to improve her mood. Chiefly because she’d been taking it easy on Dizzy and it had come back to bite her.

The droning of the referee did a lot to cut through the buzzing in her skull, as did the varied shriekings of the fans immediately behind her. Blinking the last of the fugue away, the tattooed fighter shoved herself away from the padded metal, not wanting to be a stationary target for a second longer than she had to – somehow she didn’t think Dizzy was just standing around, waiting for her to get back into the fight.

In fact, part of Samiya was surprised she’d not taken another hit already.

Where…

Oh, there she was. Samiya’s eyes fixed on her opponent just in time to see Dizzy bound onto the stairs, bounce back off and come flying through the air.

Samiya was already reacting. Switching side on, she waited, gauged the other wrestler’s momentum, picked her moment and-

Went to kick Dizzy’s head clean off in midair as she came hurtling down.

…what just happened?

Dizzy found herself in the weirdest position. She was on her knees but also on her back, flopping backward so far that she was staring up at the ceiling lights. Her vision was hazy, with lots of little lights dancing around her vision. Oh, and her head hurt. It had been hurting before, but now it specifically felt like someone had clubbed her square in the face with a baseball bat. And for the life of her, she couldn't recall how she’d gotten this way.

Her memory returned to her in chunks as the audience’s roar thundered in her ears. She’d been wrestling against a new girl, Samiya. Cute butt. She’d been getting kind of steamrolled, but she’d managed to score a temporary advantage over her, knocked her up against the barricade. She’d decided to go a bit high risk and jumped off the steel steps to strike her, and then…

Foot. She remembered a foot.

Samiya kicked her in the face. Damn.

Yeah, that would explain everything. Dizzy groaned and groggily sat up, shaking her head as she rose, only to slump forward, unable to get up. She was honestly half-surprised she was still conscious, though the verdict was still out on whether or not that was a good thing.

When people looked at Samiya, she knew what they thought they saw. Fit, sure, but thicc-fit. Taut and curvy. She’d got a wagon that made boys stare and the thighs to match. Not somebody people saw as particularly flexible even if they appreciated her power.

Which always made it particularly satisfying to see the fans’ jaws drop when she kicked higher than their heads, whipping her foot up high in a blurring crescent, and made it look easy to boot.

Of course, the sensation of her foot slamming into Dizzy’s face and the ‘smack’ that went with it were plenty satisfying by themselves.

Pausing a moment to bask in the crowd’s brief bout of stunned silence, Samiya stretched catlike and looked around for where Dizzy had ended up. Other than on the floor, of course. She’d hit enough girls and guys alike with that kick to know it wasn’t something the younger Belti would be walking off too quickly.

She found the smaller girl curled up on the floor a little way away, trying to get up and failing badly.

Dizzy managed after a moment to make it to all fours but that looked like about as far as she’d get without help.

Really, Samiya ought to just scoop her up and throw her back in the ring. The ref was still counting after all. But Dizzy was basically asking for this.

A sadistic smirk played over her full lips. Well, if you insisted…

Samiya measured the distance with a glance, stepped forward to plant her weight on her front foot and then swung her back foot forward, doing her best to just kick right through Dizzy’s face with her signature Witchblade strike.

Angela was never going to get used to this, was she?

As much as she wanted to stay impartial, as much as she wanted to hang back and let her daughter handle her own business, those motherly instincts weren’t the easiest thing to suppress. It was hard to sit back and do nothing while your offspring never got decapitated by a kick, but she did her best to hold it in, rocking back and forth in the seat to calm her nerves.

It wasn’t about to get any easier, either. Dizzy was still trying to get her head together on the floor, recouping from that hellacious strike to the head. Everything was starting to clear up, bit by bit. Senses returning, mind restarting. She wasn’t much of a threat at the moment, but she would be okay with just a little more time.

Time that she was, unfortunately, not going to get.

Dizzy caught sight of something coming from the corner of her eye, before her world turned white and she was sent spiraling away, her skull nearly caved in from what she assumed was a kick. Whatever it was, it left her skull rattled even worse than before and she wound up collapsing to her side, not too far from the steps, looking like a shriveled mess.

This was not going to well, was it?
