Alizeh Midori vs. Angela Belti - The Young and the Restless

…what was Dizzy doing over there?

It was quick, and the angle was weird so she couldn't be 100%, but Angela swore her daughter was making the weirdest face for a moment, like she was rolling her eyes at something, though she couldn't guess at what. It couldn't be at Alizeh, so maybe there was someone behind her she was looking at?

She’d ask her later. For the moment, she was too focused on the task at hand - making sure her legs would still work in this match. It was far from the easiest thing, but after a burst of hard effort, she spun them around and turned the tables on Alizeh who immediately grabbed the ropes for a break.

Untangle and reset, good. Angela used the turnbuckle for support, not wanting to put undue stress on her aching knees, but she didn’t have the luxury of resting - no, now was the time to press the attack.

With a deep sigh, Angela pushed out of the corner, spun about and tried to land a solid spinning elbow on her opponent’s face, hoping the powerful but simple maneuver would take the wind out of her sails.

Some may question Alizeh's decision to grab the ropes and force a reset for the two of them. It was possible Alizeh could keep Angela back to the figure four and hold her there for a while but it would have been far more trouble than it'd be worth, and at least this way Alizeh and Angela would be on equal footing. As she did so Alizeh would watch as Angela held onto the ropes, knowing now that her move had indeed had an effect on the woman's knees and giving Alizeh a further target to attack.

But that wouldn't stop the older woman from making the first move, spinning about as she approached to deliver a spinning elbow strike to Alizeh's face! "Ngh!" Alizeh cried out, knocked backwards from the blow but taying on her feet thanks to her grip on the ropes... Using them to pull herself back up while raising her leg and shooting it forward for a pump kick right into Angela's stomach!

Were they sure Alizeh was a middleweight? She had the height for one, the right sort of build, but Angela swore, she could not remember the last time someone from this class gave her so much trouble, was able to take this kind of punishment. Her legs weren’t in the best of shape, so she couldn't get all the venom on it that she wanted, but her rolling elbow was no joke. It should have put Alizeh down.

But the woman just. Kept. Coming.

It would’ve been fascinating to watch on the outside. On the inside, it was a great annoyance.

One she was keen on dealing with, too, hence her rush to close the gap. But as she did Alizeh latched out with another little surprise.

Pump kick. Strong one. With her weaker base, Angela was knocked back on stomping feet, tripped, and wound up falling through the top and middle rope and onto the apron. She was able to grab the ropes as she slipped and kept from falling on the floor, but it was still far from an ideal position - standing on the apron, gripping the ropes, looking and feeling like she could tip over at any second.

Managing to connect solidly with Angela's stomach to force the bigger woman back Alizeh would huff slightly as she watched to see the effect it had on the bigger woman. 'Good... I just keep the pressure on.' Alizeh thought to herself, looking past Angela enough to smirk in satisfaction as she then decided to run at the corner behind the older beauty, aiming to run up the corner and turning around quickly as she did so before jumping up and coming at Angela from behind! If successful at doing so Alizeh would close her legs around the woman's head before moving to try and throw her weight behind her to try and send Angela crashing down to the floor with a reverse hurricanrana!

Alizeh was coming, and she was coming strong. Angela didn’t have a single doubt about that. Though this was her first time taking on the Emerald Storm, she was already beginning to understand why half of her title involved a force of nature. The woman had an oppressive style, never stopping, always on the move. It was effective.

But there was only so fast you could and so many risks you could take until it caught up with you. Case in point…

Alizeh came flying out the ring, trying to catch Angela with a reverse Hurricanrana that would sent her flying for a nasty spill on the outside of the ring if it connected. It almost did, too - if she hadn't grabbed the ropes and gripped tight, she would’ve gone for it. But she did, and that allowed her to stay in place, with Alizeh hanging on her back like a cape.

With a mighty jerk forward, she force Alizhe’s body upward, putting her in a sitting position on her shoulder. The Electric Chair position.

And then Angela jumped. Backward. As she fell she tipped forward, and attempted to bring Alizeh’s front crashing onto the edge of the ring, as she initiated a unique version of her signature move: The Tower of Pisa.

Right now Alizeh had Angela on the ropes, literally with her wavering on the outside apron and clutching the ropes to keep her footing. So Alizeh was guessing one big disturbance would be enough for her to lose said footing. Jumping up onto the apron and then taking to the air, trying to land with her legs around Angela's head aiming to pull her back for a reverse hurricanrana...

Only for Angela to have a firmer footing than Alizeh expected as she also held the ropes tight, leaving Alizeh dangling off the woman's back like a baby sloth! At least until Angela pulled Alizeh up onto her shoulders making Alizeh shake slightly as she fought to find her balance, only to be helpless as Angela then turned and swung herself backwards, sending Alizeh over the ropes and back into the ring with a massive crash!

"AGHHHHHHH!!!" Alizeh cried out in pain as she bounced off the mat, rolling away and clutching her back in pain, her whole body practically seizing with pain leaving her temporarily paralyze and at her foe's mercy!

God, Dizzy forgot how powerful her mother was sometimes.

It might’ve seemed like a silly thing to do, what with her mother being a six-foot-three pillar of muscle, but when you lived with her and got used to it, stuff like that just sort of slipped your mind. Her mother could be so gentle, too. She was calm and relaxing most of the time, not some destructive juggernaut.

Then she did stuff like this, and Dizzy remembered: ‘Oh, yeah, my mother could snap me in half if she wanted to. Damn.’

Seeing her hurl Alizeh into the ring brought that into stark contrast, as she came down with a hard crash and writhed there. But that wasn’t half as interesting as what Dizzy saw next.

Angela Belti was climbing the turnbuckle.

Her mother made her way up the rung, bit by bit, until she was at the top, perched like some huge bird of prey. She looked down at Alizeh for a moment, took a breath, and then she leaped, all 200 plus pounds of her, soaring through the air with her arm raised, looking to drop her elbow straight into the Emerald Storm’s chest.
