Brawl For All - Carmen Rodriguez vs Liliel North

[Hagen-Autem]

Type: Boxing
Rules: 12 rounds, each lasting 2 minutes. A round ends when a female boxer is knocked down or commits a serious foul. Lewd attacks are permitted (the boxers will know how to exploit this). Following a knockdown, a 10-count will be administered. If a boxer fails to get back to her feet before the count of ten, she is declared KO'd, and the winner is announced. The winner is the boxer who accumulates the most points, unless the match ends in a knockout.

It had been some time since Liliel last demonstrated her boxing skills in the ring. In fact, this would be her first time putting on the gloves for a boxing match in LAW. Which, in itself, was more than exciting for her.

The tanned woman would be putting together a tight-fitting outfit this time – a two-piece set, complete with tights, incredible wrestling boots and arm sleeves that contrasted with her white gloves. She had accessorised the outfit with a small white strip of tape across the bridge of her nose, and, to top it all off, her skin had been oiled to make it stand out even more. However, none of this would be visible beneath the special robe draped over her shoulders. Only her boots could be seen.

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to L.A.W... and get ready for the match!
Hailing from London, standing at 5-foot-9 of pure determination, weighing in at 143 pounds of sheer power,
and sporting a forehead that has already left its mark right in the middle of Gart’s Pub...
And now she’s coming to leave her mark here, too! THE BRIT’S PUGILIST... LILIEL “COMPASS” NORTH!”

The brunette made her way onto the upper entrance ramp as soon as her entrance music began playing. It was her first boxing match. She was more than excited, and she wanted to show it. She rolled her shoulders and cracked her neck before breaking into her footwork the moment her name was announced. She was practically burning with excitement now that she knew she would finally be boxing tonight.

The Brit then made her way down the ramp, reaching the ring where a couple of staff members parted the ropes to let her through. And there, in the centre of the ring, the brunette swayed around before giving the cord a tug. Her trench coat fell open, slipping from her shoulders with a graceful roll of them, revealing her new outfit. One that perfectly matched the vigour she brought to tonight's boxing match.

”And her opponent…”

Wrestling matches and boxing matches were different. Statement of the century, Carmen knew, but she had the unique advantage of having great experience with both. Enough to know that, however different people knew they were, it was nothing next to the sensation of actually competing in those matches.

”Hailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and standing at a lean 5 feet and 11 inches…”

It wasn’t just in the ring, either. It started in the back, before you even came out for the match itself. Wrestling matches were short, violent, wild bursts of energy. Sprints You pumped your body up for it, you came out hard, you got it done, usually in less than ten minutes. Boxing matches? Those were marathons. Yes, you could end it in the first, you could go home early, but most likely? You were in the for the long haul. You had to be ready to die on the mats. Three minutes a round times twelve might not sound like much, but ask any boxer and they would tell you different.

Time slowed when punches flew.

”...with an Olympic pedigree, she now returns to the ring she had once called home, to claim her place within these ropes once more! The Silver Striker, the Pride of the Island! She. Is. Carmen Roooooooooooooodriguez!”

Carmen made her way down to the ring as the crowd roared about, keeping her face forward and focused every step of the way. She appreciated the enthusiasm, the energy, all of it, but another thing about boxing was that it wasn’t the best for showboating - at least, that wasn’t her style. When they’d signed her up for this boxing match, they’d told asked for the old Carmen, the Olympian, the one that took home silver for her country, and she intended to give them.

Up the steps, through the ropes, to the center of the ring with her arms held high, she took a quick look to her opponent’s side as her cornermen - Army and Felicia, her brother and cousin, made their way over to her side and got things set up. She took a quick moment to size her Liliel up, then nodded and let the robe slip, revealing her full

.

Yes. She was ready.

Liliel raised one corner of her mouth when her opponent finally appeared on the ramp. She also brought her white fists together as the boxer entered the ring and revealed herself, slipping off her tunic—to Liliel, the announcer’s words meant little to her, as she was already somewhat familiar with the usual exaggerations they tended to make. However, seeing Carmen up close made Liliel’s sharp eyes sparkle.

Now she was truly eager to put those abs to the test with her fists.

Rodrigues was a star through and through. Simple, yet so direct. Or so it seemed to Liliel, as they hadn’t spoken yet, and perhaps it was just her fangirl side indulging in a lyrical delusion inside that thick head of hers. But the fact was, Liliel could only focus on the silver medal with whom she would now be sharing the ring. And, as someone who loved a difficult challenge, she couldn’t have been more interested in putting her arms to the test against the abdominal of a woman with such an incredible track record.

So, Liliel stopped warming up with her footwork when the referee called them both over. Curiously, the Briton stepped forward without making her eagerness too obvious—or so she thought; perhaps Carmen wasn’t quite so observant—concentrating on keeping her eyes fixed on those of her opponent. But Liliel couldn’t help but play along a little, giving her

before holding out her gloves. After all, the referee had asked them to perform the classic glove touch before the bout began. All in the spirit of good sportsmanship.

From across the ring, Carmen had a look at Lileil - a good look. Frankly, she wasn’t sure what to make of the woman just yet.

There was no denying that she was in good shape. That was the body of a fighter. Fit. Strong. Tough. She looked like she could be a real threat…in her division. But the woman was definitely punching above her weight, and she oddly didn’t seem bothered by that. While Carmen wasn’t exactly the heaviest woman around, she was still a class higher. Most boxers wouldn’t have dared.

Lileil was bold. Or foolish. Or a masochist. Or some combination of all three. In LAW, there was no way to know.

Either way, she would have a better idea soon enough. ”Let’s get to work.”

Felina handed her the mouthguard, which she promptly stuffed between her lips before she walked over to meet Lileil. Her eyebrow rose as the woman winked her way, all happy and playful and not taking her seriously. That would be a mistake.

At the referee’s urging, she came forth and touched gloves, giving Lileil just a bit more force than she would have normally. She gazed her opponent over, up and down, then promptly stepped back to her corner and waited for the bell to ring.

[Hagen-Autem]

The touched gloves could hardly have been more intense. And that brought a smile to Liliel’s face thus it was clear her opponent was going to take this seriously.

Back in her corner, seated on the regulation stool, one of her staff members leaned in, offering her strategies for facing that silver medallist. But a stubborn-headed woman like her only had eyes for the woman sitting in the opposite corner.

The advice became little more than background noise, and the world narrowed into a tunnel with Carmen at the other end. Liliel studied the woman as though her breathing and rigid expression might reveal something to her. Something important, as she imagined what lay ahead over these twelve rounds.

The weight difference wasn't necessarily a problem for Liliel. Her gloves creacked as she knew exactly what she needed to do once either of them threw the first punch.

Besides, now that she had witnessed her attitude, Liliel North had only one thing on her mind. And it wasn't exactly beating her opponent. That would be rather boring for a tanned beauty pubgirl like herself.

Ding Ding Ding!

As soon as the bell rang, she accepted her mouthguard without taking her stubborn eyes off her opponent. She brought her white gloves together, then rose to her feet, adopting a your steady footwork as she hunched forward and raised her guard.

[BlackAkuma]

Back in their corner, Army and Felicia were just finishing up, making sure everything was ready for her when she came back. Nothing was said and nothing much needed to be said. They’d been here before. They knew the routine. The onus was on Carmen to do the hard work.

She looked back their way and nodded. ”Back in three.”

Ding. Ding. Ding.

Carmen normally took her first rounds slow, and today was no exception. She came out with gloves up and tight, opting for a safe, orthodox stance as she made her way across the ring. Toes tapping, arms swaying, she closed in on her opponent with each passing second. Swaying this way, that way, this way again…

Jab.

It was quick. Swift. No-tell. Carmen let it fly in a flash, but there was little impact behind it. Just testing her defenses, seeing how she reacted. Another one came out soon after - a little harder, a little meaner, but far from her full power.

Just gathering data.

[Hagen-Autem]

Liliel didn’t blink. She approached with stiff, measured steps. Unlike Carmen, who threw the first punch.

North immediately leaned to one side. She wasn’t close enough; Carmen practically had to stretch her entire arm out to reach her. Liliel followed that red glove out of the corner of her eye — it was a swift jab, but the lack of power behind the blow was equally obvious. She thought it was just a feint, thus Liliel took another step forward, and Rodriguez’s second jab came flying towards her.

This time, she blocked it with her forearms, feeling the force of the blow against her guard. Not bad for a start. But that wasn’t what Liliel was looking for from a heavyweight.

Liliel immediately twisted her waist, extending her arm into a hook before driving it forward. Her own powerful hook went straight into Rodriguez’s guard, as she wanted to make it clear that she had no intention of taking things slowly against her.

[BlackAkuma]

What sort of boxer are you, Liliel North? Talk.

She was bold. That first jab didn’t deter her, not one bit. She was confident enough to come in regardless, charging into range, making her followup jab hit with a little more spice than she’d expected. She wasn’t overly cautious, it seemed - that could work for and against her, situations depending.

The hook was coming, swift from the side. Carmen juked back, but wasn’t fast enough to avoid it all, taking some of it on the arm before she was fully out of range. There was still good power left, enough for her to worry about.

Another jab. Another. Another. Three fired out, one after the other, retreating out of range each time to see how well she could draw Lileil forward. Getting harder each time, but still a good way off from the full force she could provide.

[Hagen-Autem]

Her glove made contact with the silver medallist’s forearm, sending her reeling — in reality, Rodríguez had dodged by stepping backwards, but even so, it might give that mistaken impression to someone unfamiliar with boxing. Even so, Liliel enjoyed feeling the resistance of Carmen’s arm. Too bad it hadn’t been a direct hit, but merely a hard brush.

That legendary woman responded then. One jab after another, increasing the intensity with each strike. Liliel only dodged the first one, bending one knee as she crouched lower, thereby shifting her entire body to one side like a tide, letting the punch pass over her shoulder. But she took the next one, and the one after that, on her forearms, bracing them each time Carmen fired.

Following her every time she stepped back to throw another. Each impact made her shoulders tremble slightly. But the test was only just beginning to warm up that British woman’s muscles. That said, every hopping step she took was hindered by those incoming jabs. A good way for Carmen to slow her down, and a great way to lure a ram like Liliel. By the next one, however, the British woman’s arms were already braced, her eyes fixed on Rodríguez like an owl. But instead of meeting the punch with her guard, Liliel crouched all the way down, lunging forward and slipping beneath that new jab.

The tanned woman took a suicidal step forward to throw an uppercut straight at Rodríguez’s abs. It would be a half-strength punch, but loaded with the momentum of that stride, adding the strength of her legs as they extended to straighten her body. This would allow her to drive her powerful arm even higher. Her waist, back and shoulder would add to the impact as well — if she managed to land it.

It's not an accurate representation, but it's the closest thing I could find today.

[BlackAkuma]

Carmen wasn’t simply throwing out punches. This was art, of a sort. She was painting a picture, and so far, she was like what she saw.

Lileil was young and eager, a precocious sort of fighter. She could relate, she’d been about the same way in her youth, but she’d broken out of those bad habits. Getting your skull caved in is a great way to teach you lessons, and she’d learned hers well enough.

Her jabs weren’t strong, but they were enough to create a rhythm. To make Lileil thing there was a pattern where they re actually was none. Make her commit, make her come rushing in, and-

And there we are.

Lileil closed the distance, brought the arm low, and sent it up fast for a punctuating uppercut. Carmen tightened her guard and took it on the forearms, but it still had enough force to knock her back a step.

That was fine. More than fine. Going down low left Lileil’s top open, and that was where she wanted to strike. Carmen stepped in, threw another jab, but this time it was really a feint - the perfect way to set up what she truly wanted, as she let fly with a right cross down the center line, targeting her opponent’s jaw.
