The Highlander's Call

Unread post by Sigma Morgan »

Hazel had been on a hot streak since joining LAW and was only just getting started. The twenty-four-year-old Scottish woman was already backstage, clad in her primarily green and brown attire, her hair fixed in its normal mix of braids that let some of it still flow free. Hazel rolled her shoulders she had gotten to the arena an hour earlier than her allotted time, and someone in the higher office must have liked her enough to give her fifteen to twenty minutes in the ring to do whatever she wanted, and she most certainly was planning to make the most of it.

Glancing at a clock on the wall backstage Hazel began to walk toward the curtain before leaning on a wall next to it. Hazel hummed to herself as the participants of the previous match walked through the curtain one after the other, one smiling widely, clearly enjoying a win while the other kept her head hung low while she rubbed the side of her face. Hazel with both women disappearing backstage, Hazel stood up straight and grabbed a microphone off a nearby table while she waited for her entrance music to start up.

Anyone who knew Hazel personally likely knew what she was going to do, she wasn't one just to stand and talk. With her music starting Hazel walked past the curtain and onto the stage, the crowd beginning to cheer, eager to hear what the Scottish woman had to say! Hazel had a faint smile on her face as she walked down the ramp to the ring, giving a few fans some fist bumps on her way down to the ring, wanting to show some gratitude for their support so far in her career.

Getting close to the ring Hazel climbed the steel steps up onto the ring apron before stepping between the ropes. Hazel wasted no time walking to the center of the ring, giving the fans a few more moments to settle in and quiet down before speaking.

Raising the microphone to her mouth the red haired woman began to speak. "Hello LAW... I know you were all probably expecting some long winded promo but truth is, I don't have much to say. Hazel started. "I've beaten every opponent LAW has thrown at me except one, from a former Champion like Tina Armstrong to other newcomers. I've taken hit after hit and gotten right back up. I haven't been pinned, and I will never tap out!" Hazel continued to describe how she saw her career going for the foreseeable future. Sure she had title aspirations but so did most women who stepped inside the ring, she was sure her time would come sooner or later, but until then she had to keep proving herself. "BUT ENOUGH TALK, ANYONE BACKSTAGE WHO WANTS TO FIGHT COME ON OUT!" Hazel shouted before lowering her mic, watching the stage with anticipation, eager to see who would accept her sudden challenge!

In comparison to Hazel, Hana was still finding herself on her feet in LAW. That's not to say she didn't find any success in the company. She successfully managed to connect with the crowd rather quickly...even if that connection was the crowd absolutely hating her guts and wanting to see the violent, foul mouthed woman shut up. But that was a problem. Too many people managed to do that. The greenette aimed at opponents she knew she would have a hard time to defeat, wanting to prove herself as not only a rough wrestler to be hated...but also, a strong wrestler to be respected.

And Hazel seemed like a target to take down.

Hana heard that the ginger-haired woman was going to cut a promo tonight. Her plan was to interrupt her regardless of what she would've said, in order to goad the fight from her.

Entrance theme
The moment Hana's theme hit, a rain of jeers erupted in the ring, as the greenette stepped through with a wide smile on her face and a mic in her hand, before letting out an evil cackle:

"Bwahahaha...cut it! Cut my music!!!"

With the theme quickly quieting down as Hana swiftly made her way down to the ring, her stare never leaving Hazel's as she climbed inside the ring, bringing the mic to her lips:

"Sorry, had to pop in here...didn't want to make you feel too lonely in the ring, since no one thinks you are worth their time...but I suppose I have a minute to paint your face a really nice shade of red...", the villainous greenette would speak into the mic.

Hazel took a deep breath through her nose, waiting patiently for several long moments to see if anybody would come out to face her. As she was ready to raise her microphone to speak again another woman's music started. It was unfamiliar to Hazel but clearly familiar to fans as they immediately began to rein down jeers even before the woman stepped out onto the stage.

Noticing the mic in the stranger's hand Hazel sighed as the woman began to speak. "Another one who wants to talk" Hazel thought to herself as the woman made her way down to the ring. The Scotswoman wanted a fight, a challenge, not words, but it seemed she was going to get the latter regardless. Hazel's eyes locked with the green clad woman as she joined her in the ring and began to speak,

The Highlander's expression shifted from neutral to a glare after the first words the woman said to her were an insult followed by a threat. Hazel raised her microphone again a moment after Hana had finished speaking. "Wow, that's a lot of talk for someone who was getting booed before she even had the balls to step onto the stage" Hazel responded a hint of venom in her words. "But let me guess, you're someone struggling, thinking things were going to be easy in this company, and now wanting her ten minutes of fame like any of the other twenty women likely lined up out back?!" Hazel asked returning an insult towards Hana!

Although Hana did not believe that things were going to be easy when it came to completely switching combat sports, Hazel wasn't wrong. Hana needed a big break of some kind to make her way through LAW. Naturally, Hazel was going to be just a start, as the greenette tried to make her way towards the Heavyweight...or potentially the Openweight title.

Still...Hazel had no reason to know about that.

"Twenty women like you? You beat a few people and suddenly you..." Hana would roughly jab her finger into Hazel's chest as she said the word: "Think yourself the big fish in the ocean...well, just to let you know...these waters have a lot of sharks in them..." she would finish her verbal comeback as she tried to shove the ginger haired woman back to assert her dominance!

Hazel was a proud fighter and a person. Her family's name, her name, her career, her lineage—she had a great pride in it all, and for some woman, a woman like Hana especially, to come out and insult her was an attack on that pride in Hazel's eyes. Not that Hazel wasn't above returning an insult or two to anyone who did the same, which Hazel did to Hana, likely cutting a bit deep as she did, but it was far from a verbal haymaker as Hana continued to speak after her, a little more fired up than before, sticking her finger in Hazel's chest and shoving the Scotswoman back. Hazel only gave Hana an inch though as she tried to shrug off the sudden push "You're no shark Hana, you're a goldfish, living in her little bowl thinking she's the biggest thing in the ocean" Hazel returned the insult taking a step forward and getting directly in Hana's face. "So if you're just here to run your mouth, you should get out of the ring" The Highlander said, clearly thinking Hana was little more than a mild annoyance and not someone actually here to challenge her seriously at this point.
