Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
Close. So close.
She didn’t miss the brief touch of her knuckles on his chin. Not enough to do damage, nothing substantial…nothing physically, at least. Mentally, she could see a flash of fear in those red eyes. She’d scared him. It was one thing to look at her body and guess how strong she was, another thing entirely actually to feel it. That fear could work to her advantage, force him to make mistakes and hesitate, or it could just make him more wary and harder to catch. It could go either way, but there was only one way to make sure of it - she had to test the waters.
He danced and she advanced, maintaining a tight guard along the way, moving forward with strong, steady steps. She thought she had him against the turnbuckle for a second and moved in, only for him to nimbly make his way to the outside, likely thinking he’d have some safe harbor on the apron.
She aimed to prove him wrong. Stepping with arms out, Bast tried to grab Anansi by the head, lift him up, and toss him back to the center of the ring, hoping to stop his antics before they could get out of hand again.

Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
'I have made a severe, drastic lapse in my judgment.'
Was all Anansi could think of the moment he felt Bast's hands grip his dreads. Eyes widening with a "totally" manly yelp, Anansi felt a searing red-hot pain tear through his scalp as the mat left his feet. While he thought he was safe outside the ropes, Bast's claws showed him then and there that those three cables were the farthest things from a shield to keep him safe. Because now, without a choice, Anansi was reunited with the sky, and this time gravity wasn't gonna be his friend. So in an act of fear and adrenaline, Anansi just barely managed to roll from Bast's toss before landing back on his feet and dashing to the ropes. Hoping to use the momentum against the taller female as he hopped up for a flying elbow. Hoping to counter Bast's momentum once more, praying with all his heart that the lioness wouldn't catch him again.

Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
”Get him!” Cersei’s cries rang out as Bast sent Anansi careering into the ring. ”Gethimgethimgethim-”
As much as Bast appreciated the ‘encouragement’ from her sister, she didn’t need to be told to hound this man down - it was already a high priority in her mind. Her strategy resolved around limiting his movement, forcing him to fight in a way that suited her and not the other way around, and she took a significant step in that direction when she sent him hurtling into the ring. To his credit, he showed his agility once again and turned it into a roll, but she was growing wise to his pattern now - she moved after him, not wanting to give him room to breathe.
That paid off when he came flying her way, elbow drawn. She reared back, preparing to smack him out of the air…
…and wound up taking the blow full on in the face, beaten to the punch once again. But there was a difference, this time. While his attack landed flush and made her stagger back, she didn’t fight the motion. Instead, she went with it, falling against the ropes and using them to propel her forward. She came back towards him, dashing with an alacrity that few would’ve been capable of with her size, and lunged towards him with a mighty leap, attempting to run him over with a flying knee.

Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
Pain. So, so much pain.
When Anansi felt his elbow hit its mark, the spider felt a surge of hope fill his chest. He just got her again, she staggered, she's falling back! Maybe he could survive after all! He's holding his own, he didn't get squished instantly, he was even able to get the lioness outside! He could do this! He just needed to keep chipping away. So, when Anansi returned to the mat and went to turn around and dance once more. But sadly fir him, the moment his eyes turned to see where Bast was, he could only widen his eyes before a flood of searing hot pain tore through his chest as a wrecking ball of a knee rammed into him like a freight train!
"Gack!" Coughing up air and spit from the impact, the spider crumbled to the mat in agony. Groaning and writhing between Bast's legs as her aim finally struck true. As all Anansi could attempt to do was weakly try and attempt to use Bast's pillar's she called legs to try and maybe raise back up. But after that strike, Anansi's hands may as well have just been for decoration.

Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
”Fucking finally!”
Cersei’s cries rang out over the audience’s disapproval, sending jeers her way as she sent Anansi crashing to the floor. For her part, they were just white noise, background music that she hardly registered. She’d never cared much for crowd approval, and she wasn’t about to start favoring it now. Not that she really could in a situation like this - they were firmly behind their plucky underdog, even as he writhed on the mat between Bast’s feet.
She took a moment to catch her breath now that she was in the driver’s seat, watching as Anansi crawled his way up her thigh, and his ass the pain from his elbow really set in. She brought a hand to her cheek, rubbed it, winced - it hadn't cut, but the skin was raw, a likely bruise. He could generate some real power with that agility, but if he was grounded…
Bast reached down, wrapped her arm around his neck, and pulled him up in tight chokehold, squeezing his throat from behind with her hardened arm. ”You should give up.” She whispered in his ear, lacing her deep voice with concern, even as her muscles clamped tighter and tighter. ”You had a good run, but I’m about to hurt you. Seriously.”

Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
If Anansi wasn't in pain six ways from Sunday, he swears he would've shivered at Bast's voice in his ear. The baritone sound that cascaded over his body with a hint of worry to top it off. Dang, if he wasn't in a fight right now he would've asked the lioness if she wanted to go on a date later, but as he felt the heavyweights statuesque arm squeeze his head, that thought was instantly pushed to the back of his mind.
"hehe...sorry 'bout that, don't think I can do that just yet..."
Now wasn't the time to be romantic, he had to try and find someway to keep going. To some how find a way to thread this needle and survive once more. So, as white haired wrestler held him close, Anansi wrapped his arms around Bast's hips and tried to hook another leg to back of her knee. Hoping to trip the giantess enough to at least let him slip free, but it he was lucky, maybe she might go down.

Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
If she were being honest, Bast had a strong suspicion that Anansi wouldn’t take her offer. Though she had just met this man, she had encountered his type more than a few times. The daredevil. The thrillseeker. The sort of man who lived his life on the edge. He hadn't balked when he entered the ring, approaching her confidently despite the apparent size difference, and she doubted he would shy away now. But she had to make the offer, if only to assuage her conscience for what was about to happen.
”Have it your way.”
Her plans was to lift him up and send him flying back, hurling him away with a Sleeper Suplex, a move that she’d used to crush more than a few of her opponents in the past. It might have laid him out, too, if it connected, but Anansi once again lived up to his namesake - as cunning as a spider, and twice as quick. His trip took her off guard, surprised by the deftness of the move and the sheer skill. It was enough to drop her on her back and earn his freedom.
But a trip was just a trip - not her proudest moment, but far from painful. She’d only been on her back for half of a second before she brought her leg up and shot it out, trying to hit Anansi in the small of his back with her heel before he could make a full escape.

Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
Hoping to spin a tale one more time, Anansi couldn't help but think of those stories his parents told him growing up. Weaving story after story about the adventures of one tricksy little spider out witting hornets, a python, and leopards. Sometimes finding a way to tie it all together, while in other times winding up the butt of the joke himself. But when he felt vice of Bast's arms leave his head as the mat shook at his feet, Anansi had thought today was the previous.
That today he found his Osebo, a powerful cat that could tear him apart trapped in silk of his own creation. Thinking maybe, just maybe that he could weave a comeback out of thin air and topple the giant before him!
Even the crowd who thought they were about to see Anansi's book end swelled back to life! Striking the man with a bolt of adrenaline, he could do it, he could win, he could, he could...fall.
He could fall right back down to the mat, stick in no better of a situation than before. Because if there's one mistake he made, it was thinking Bast was Osebo. And for his transgressions, he got a sharp heel in the back, reuniting him with the mat. Forcing him on his hands and knees before the lioness with a crooked grin on his face.
"Dang...can't even get a second?"

Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
”No.”
It was a simple answer to a simple question. Bast had absolutely no intention of letting this man get a second to breathe. She’d already seen what he could do with that leeway and wasn’t about to repeat history. The only way to deal with his tricks was to put him in a position where he couldn't use them. That meant more pressure, more offense, more everything.
Bast rocked on her back, kicked her legs up, and rose to her feet in an instant with a kip up that left the ring shuddering. At ringside, Cersie was still yelling out the usual stuff, demanding that Bast crush him, finish off, et cetera. It was all background noise - she kept her eyes straight and moved in.
Bast brought her leg up high, took a second to gather her strength, and brought it crashing down towards Anansi’s downed form, attempting to hammer him into the mat with a devastating stomp. She was under no illusions that he might avoid it, but that was okay - if she kept at him, she’d land something substantial.

Re: Anasi Ashanti vs. Bast - Battle of the Gods
'Ok! Starting today, I ain't ever steppin' on a bug again!' Anansi thought, scrambling to avoid Bast's hammer of a leg!
Because while he was crawling in pain, trying to lick his wounds to get back up, he saw Bast raise up her leg right before his eyes. Which, in any other situation would've been nice sight without a doubt. But sadly, knowing he's about to get squashed by it dampens the enjoyment. So with wide scarlet eyes and his nerves blaring every siren they could, Anansi launched himself to side, falling flat on his back as the first of many stomps sailed past him.
Thudding against the mat like thunder before the down pour began again. Raining bomb after bomb as Anansi barely managed to keep scuttling away. Not even able to grab the ropes from the constant flood, even his mind had a hard time thinking of a trick to save himself. But even when he did think of something it was crazier than the last!
'Roll her up? Sure, good idea, lemme do it when I get a few 60 pounds on me!' He thought, as the stomps only kept getting closer while his body got more exhausted.
'Maybe twist it into a submission?!' His thoughts thundered as he saw Bast's leg raise above him once again. Ready to hammer down this tricky nail.
"Why not? I'll get squashed anyway!" Deciding to take one last gamble, Anansi would let Bast's hammer of a foot rain down on him, watching the brown axe of of a leg tear through the air as he attempted to spring his last trick. Hoping to tie up Bast's leg and turn it into a grapevine ankle lock. But if he missed his mark instead, he'd understand first hand how a bug really feels.
