"London? London. London? Yes, London. You know - fish, chips, cup o' tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary fucking Poppins. London!" With, as much as her character allowed, serious face said Nerissa.
"For God's sake..." Victoria sighed heavily. "Please shut up..."
The Native American woman grinned, then made a pendulum movement with her torso down and to the right. But instead of sending a punch to the punching bag, she forcefully pushed off the floor and swung her right leg. Her foot slammed into the hard surface with such force that the punching bag shifted several meters.
Landing on her feet, Nerissa took a deep breath, and then went to the bench to get a towel and wipe a few drops of sweat on her forehead. She usually didn't spend too much time warming up. But there is always room for an exception. She needs to be in her best shape today. She knew that perfectly well.
"You should be grateful, by the way," Victoria said, adjusting her glasses. "It cost me a lot of effort to convince the management that your match deserves this arena."
"Oh oh oh," Nerissa shook her head. "Thank you very much, Miss Britain." Nerissa tried to curtsy, which caused disgust on Victoria's face. "We both know you're exaggerating." She smiled. "I'm sure if we had asked, they would have given us a fucking Madison Square Garden for such a match."
The manager pursed her lips slightly, but it was hard to disagree with Nerissa's words. It all started about ten days ago. Every morning Victoria performed the same ritual. A cup of coffee, a cigarette and news. That time she choked when literally the first thing she saw in her news feed was a bar fight in which Nerissa was involved.
When she called the Native American woman to a conversation, Nerissa immediately demanded to send Alice Gaster a challenge to the Apex match. And although Victoria did not approve of her ward's behavior. as a manager, she understood that this was a great opportunity. Nerissa was the third strongest in her team, and only Astrid and Charlotte could compete with her popularity. Therefore, she fulfilled the wish of the Native American woman by preparing the documents and sending them to Alice. And after that, the real madness began.
Nerissa didn't think too long about what kind of match it would be, so she had no qualms about demanding that it be a deathmatch. And what was Victoria's surprise when the documents returned to her. Alice signed up to the conditions of the deathmatch, but added a condition that the ropes would be replaced with barbed wire.
Victoria didn't even need glasses to see that Nerissa took it as a personal challenge. The Native American woman considered hardcore to be her element and she wasn't going to let Alice think that she wasn't capable of coping with tougher conditions. Therefore, she not only signed the condition with barbed wire, but also again told to send the documents to Alice, this time demanding that the condition of falls count anywhere be added to the match.
Literally the next day, Victoria and Nerissa received their documents back. And, as it was easy to guess, Alice added another condition, according to which a variety of weapons will be scattered on, under and around the ring. At that moment, Victoria said that it had crossed all boundaries. However, Nerissa only grinned and again demanded to send the documents to Alice, adding that there would be explosions on contact with barbed wire. Much to Nerissa's regret and anger, the management, like Victoria, decided that this was too much, so Nerissa's request was not satisfied. Only after that their little war came to an end.
"You're the manager and you think you know what the audience needs," Nerissa said, walking over to her locker. "Yes, of course, viewers always like title matches, because it is considered that the title match guarantees that the show will be as cool as possible."
Victoria raised her left eyebrow slightly, not quite understanding what Nerissa was driving at. The Native American woman has always had strange views on life. And although the Englishwoman was used to it, she still did not always understand her ward.
"But that's not the only thing the audience wants." Nerissa continued, opening the locker and taking out her Pride Flag. "You see, when the conditions of the match allow fighters to almost literally kill each other, it always causes a stir. Someone might say that such a hardcore match is just an attempt to attract attention." Nerissa tied the Pride Flag around her neck. "But they know that this is not my and Alice's case. We will both do everything to win. There will be a lot of blood today. And we will drag each other through Hell in order to earn the right to become a contender for the openweight title. Doesn't that elevate our match to the level of a title match?"
Victoria took off her glasses and approached her ward. Nerissa had to lift her head slightly to look into the eyes of the taller Englishwoman. For a few seconds, Victoria seemed to be trying to get into Nerissa's head, but then her gaze softened and she smiled. Their relationship did not develop in the best way in the first months of their cooperation. But when she realized what kind of person Nerissa was, their relationship gradually began to improve. The Englishwoman hugged Nerissa.
"I don't always approve of your idiotic behavior," she said. "But I will always believe in you and your success."
"Hey! Hey!" A slight blush appeared on Nerissa's cheeks. "No need for sentiment, I have a match in a few minutes!"
But despite her words, the Native American woman also raised her arms and hugged her manager. For most of her life, she relied only on herself. That is why it was difficult for her to find a common language with Victoria at the very beginning. This woman began to take care of her from the first day. And that was pretty damn unusual for Nerissa. Therefore, she treated Victoria with suspicion. But eventually...
"I have to go..." she said.
"Yes, of course," Victoria released Nerissa and took a step back, then returned the glasses to their place. "Try not to fuck up."
"Pf!" Nerissa grinned, then turned around and headed for the door. "Eyes on me! That's all I ask!"
With that, she left the locker room. Nerissa headed down the long corridor while a slight smile played on her face. Many people in her place would feel anxiety or even fear. But there was no room in Nerissa's soul for anything but anticipation. Every match was important to her. But she was honest with herself and she wasn't going to deny this match is special for her.
The Native American woman entered the waiting room and stopped in front of the curtains. Clara and Alice Gaster. It wasn't the first time Nerissa had caught herself thinking that the world was a very funny place. She wanted to meet Clara in a match. Yes, she wanted a rematch. She wanted to prove first of all to herself that she was capable of fighting at the highest level. And although she was sure that their story was far from over, so far it has been put on pause.
Instead of Clara, she got Alice. At the thought of this, the Native American woman's mouth filled with saliva. It was a completely different, but certainly no less exciting story. During their brief meeting, she managed to understand what Alice was made of. And she knew that the British woman would do everything in her power to destroy Nerissa today. They both had something to fight for today. Well...
"I'm going to take everything I want!" Nerissa said, licking her lips. Entrance Music
Attire
Every light source in the arena went out, everything was plunged into pitch darkness. And then three deafening chords shook the walls and the souls of everyone present. At the same time, three flashes of spotlights momentarily illuminated the figure of the woman wrapped in the Pride Flag and standing with her back to the audience. A few moments of darkness and silence, and then three more flashes of light made it possible to see that the woman turned over her shoulder with a wide smile from ear to ear.
A few moments of darkness and silence, and then three flashes of light illuminated Nerissa, who turned to face the ring and the audience. A huge screen turned on above her head. There were snakes. Countless intertwined snakes. It was only when the camera began to move away from them that these intertwined snakes formed Nerissa's name. A few moments of darkness and silence, and then three flashes of light made it possible to see how she raised her hands, accepting the deafening greetings of the audience.
Accompanied by three beams of spotlights, the Echidna began to descend the ramp. With each step she took, tall flames rose from her sides. Nerissa moved calmly and confidently, and her gaze was directed exclusively at the ring. Yes, she wasn't in the habit of thinking about the future, but she had been waiting for this day for a long time. She knew that her Apex match would be her biggest challenge in life. And she wanted it. She wanted this more than anything.
As she approached the ring, the light left the arena completely again. The spotlights returned a few moments later. Nerissa was squatting on the top turnbuckle. Yes, usually at this moment her gaze was fixed on her opponent. However, this time she had the honor to arrive in the ring first. However, this did not make her entrance any less impressive.
Under the excited screams of the audience, the Echidna jumped forward. The Pride Flag rustled in the gusts of air. The light fully returned to the arena only at the moment when Nerissa landed and straightened up to her full height. It was at that moment that the ring announcer decided to take the floor.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to The O2 Arena! They say hardcore will never die! Today, this phrase takes on new colors because the upcoming match is real madness! Today two women will meet in Hell in order to test each other's strength! No compromises! No rules! No mercy! Only blood and hardcore! AAAAAAAAND NOW!!! Introducing first! From hot San Jose! The one who lives freely! An ardent defender and representative of the LGBT+ community! The one who brings passion and blood to every match! Five feet five inches tall! Weighing one hundred and nineteen pounds! The one and only! Please welcome! Nerissa! Echidna!! Labong!!!"
To deafening applause, she untied the Pride Flag on her neck and raised it high above her head. Nerissa made a lap of honor, showing everyone an attribute that was one of the main symbols of freedom. In another situation, she would have done it for her opponent, but she was willing to make an exception this time. Therefore, stopping in the center of the ring, the Echidna raised her right hand, showing to the audience a sign of horns. The noise around her excited her. She felt goosebumps running down her spine.
When the screams of the audience became quieter, the Native American woman headed to her corner. She folded the Pride Flag and placed it on the edge of the ring. Only then she allowed herself to take a look at everything around her. And it would be fair to say that even Nerissa, who loved hardcore matches with all her heart, was impressed. The barbed wire that replaced the ropes was razor sharp. And there were so many weapons around that it was probably illegal. Although hardly a normal person would call it a weapon. Indeed, what normal person would see a pizza cutter as an instrument of torture? Nerissa's eyes flashed.
"Don't keep me waiting, Pale Rider." She mumbled softly.

The controversy was a bit of a wild time for Alice. The bar brawl against a fellow LAW wrestler made the news on the internet, similar to what ultimately lead to her first PPV match in LAW...and what ultimately lead to a very long term injury that knocked her out for a while. People talked about Clara's hiatus a bunch...but barely anyone mentioned that the younger Gaster sister was also not wrestling. Thankfully, the company helped her get back on her feet, even though the PPV match was, more or less, meant as a punishment.
...and in the end, she couldn't help but feel that she hasn't found much success in LAW after her return. She was told to "chill out" by the company, and she couldn't help but think that maybe she took the advice too close to home, fearing that her previous daredevil attitude got her in trouble too much. But as a result of her "chilling out", her wins became in-frequent, even in...no, especially in hardcore and deathmatches. Thankfully, injuries weren't that out of the ordinary compared with the start of her career, but losing her edge felt...bad. The No-DQ match vs Baroness was definitely when she started to have these feelings about her career as the sadistic Frenchwoman and her maids destroyed her spine, driving the Alice to a crying mess as she had Clara and her girlfriend help her to the back (with her thankfully only needing a few weeks of rest after the qualifier after the damage her back took in the bout). She felt humbled...humiliated even...
The incident at the bar only worsened her self-doubt, unable to look her sister in the eye for the last couple of weeks as the Apex tour got underway...and surprisingly, Alice's match took place in London. Obviously, it wasn't her "home" home crowd which Clara would get on her show in Newcastle...but it also felt better to have the match here. This was where her career as a hardcore wrestler started, with her primarily wrestling in London prior to joining LAW. She actually arrived to London a week earlier and took her time to say "hello" to the indies she was an active part of, as well as arranging a meeting with her and Clara's parents. She tried to keep up with her folks, but she always felt the phone calls would go...awkwardly. Anytime she thought of phoning them...she got into another bar fight, or had a particularly brutal match recently. Her parents were already disproving of her wrestling style, and talking about that felt...off. But now that it felt awkward to talk to even Clara, and her needing to vent to someone...she decided to try and talk to her parents.
Surprisingly, the talk at a restaurant that her parents invited her to went better than she anticipated. She imagined her mom really wanted to talk to her, and starting the talk off the wrong foot was a sure way to get their relationship back to radio silence for a few more months...or even years. Naturally, their parents threw some snide comments about her recent misadventures...before ultimately assuring her that she will always have a place in their home, and to visit them once the tour reaches Newcastle...especially with her sister.
With the meeting going well, it was time to focus on her match....which, between Nerissa and Alice, the last few weeks as she got ready for her flight were pretty much the women fighting already, as they tried to one up each other with adding the stipulations for the match. Alice simply wanted a Barbed Wire match, but Nerissa would add more, with Falls Counting everywhere for the encounter (whichever the unlucky ref was chosen for the match would absolutely hate the two of them for that). Alice took it in stride however, specifying that weapons were to be scattered around the ring, to make it a 100% proper deathmatch...at which point Nerissa actually decided to appeal to Alice as well, adding explosions to their match! However, at that point, LAW would step in and block the stipulation, leaving them with a Falls Count Anywhere, Weapons In The Ring Barbed Wire Ropes match.
The day of the match would arrive, Alice entered the arena...with her sister waiting for her at the entrance.
"Hi...", she waved, smiling, to Alice's confused expression. For a second, she didn't want to talk to Clara...only to voice her confusion out loud:
"How...how long were you waiting for me? In front of the arena?"
"Trust me, with the last few weeks and waiting to go to Newcastle, I think I have an eternal amount of patience now...now, let's go", Clara would say, motioning for Alice to follow her.
The two women would arrive to the backstage room designated as Clara's private locker room, with Clara sitting down in her chair, motioning to Alice to take another one. Alice tried to speak:
"Clara, I am sorry for what happened in the bar... I felt indebted to you after the Baroness match, and I couldn't ignore anyone bad-mouthing you...maybe it's also my recent matches getting to me, but I don't want to make excuses. I am sorry."
Clara didn't smile, but exhaled:
"We both had a rough 2022 it seems. Some of which was from our own design. For what it's worth, I am sorry for trying to control your bookings, with Yuzuha and almost cancelling the match with Baroness. I just felt...guilty for letting my friends down like this, and I wanted to keep them save...but we are now adults, and I feel like in wrestling, we are mature enough to deal with our own situations...not that we can't have each other's back when push comes to shove..."
Alice nodded, agreeing.
"And with that... I have a peace offering...", Clara got a wide, thin box from the table behind her, as she chirped up, Alice being very interested at what the present was.
Alice picked up the box, and unwrapped it:
” Oh… Oh my goodness… I-I don’t know what to say…”
Inside it was a new costume, specifically, a cute, single leg leotard outfit with “Alice” emblazoned on the front.
”I had it custom-made. Come on, try it on!”
After a good few minutes Alice was changed…and Clara couldn’t help but smile like an idiot:
”You look like you are ready to kick ass and take names!”
Alice giggled as she blushed: ”Th-thank you so much, sis.”
The two women hugged. Once they separated, Clara started to go towards the door:
” I gotta go, but once the match starts, I will be watching it closely. I don’t think Nerissa is the sort to try and injure you post match…but in case anything bad happens, know that I am here.”
Alice nodded as Clara waved a farewell to her sister, closing the door…and Alice sticking her foot out, trying to make sure Clara wouldn’t lock it to try and block her from fighting like with Yuzuha…
The show got underway. Due to O2 being a serious arena, little lewdness happened, bar an undercard smother match. Soon, however, it was time for the main event. Nerissa would come out first. Her entrance was rather impressive, with plenty of lights and pyro, not to mention the LGBT+ flag that made it hard to boo her at all. Alice still couldn’t help but think: ”Showoff…”, just a little bit, even if she approved of coming up with the flag.
Alice got a knock on her door as the announcer started to introduce the match, as the crew member gave her a minute to prepare, Alice nodding as she made her way towards the Gorilla Position.
”And her opponent…”, the announcer would say as the lights dimmed once more… Spoiler
The spotlight glowed from right behind Alice as she held her kendo stick behind her, creating an effective silhouette as her new song started proper. She walked down the ramp, clad in her new attire to cheers from the crowd, raising her kendo stick up into the air:
"WHO IS READY FOR ME TO KICK THIS BITCH'S ASS?!" Spoiler
There was a mix of cheers and jeers for Alice, just like she liked, as she smiled into the crowd. There was someone in the crowd holding a "Extreme London House fan" in the crowd...followed by them turning the sign to show: "OG Alice Fan" sign, as she gave a firm thumbs up to them, camera making sure to capture the fan, before Alice continued on her way down to the ring.
"FROM NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE, ENGLAND! The Princess of Death! The Grim Reaper who started her path in this very city! The woman who brings brutality with her every match! The sister of the Lord of Shadow! Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome: "The Pale Rider"! Alice! Gaster!"
At that point, the crowd erupted with cheers once more, as they got that much more excited for the upcoming bout, one that they have been waiting for over a month now...
Alice carefully stepped onto the ring, trying not to touch barbed wire...yet. She still ended up cutting her finger as she grabbed the ropes, but she didn't show it. She raised her stick into the air one more time as the crowd cheered once more, before finally, things quiet down.
Alice took a look at the ref...who was clad in a bodysuit on top of a ref shirt. This woman was not taking any chances. She was protecting herself against whatever and whereever the two competitors were going to go tonight...
Alice took a look at Nerissa, smirking: "Hope you are ready for a war..."

Time. When the music started, Nerissa turned her head to the side. Alice Gaster was standing at the top of the ramp. And although the Native American woman did not take the time to watch Alice's matches, finding it unnecessary, it was not difficult for her to understand that today the British woman appeared in a new attire. This definitely caused a stir among the audience, who gave the brunette a wave of applause and warm greetings.
Nerissa didn't care too much about the fact that she was in her classic attire today. But still, she felt a small prick somewhere inside. The reason for this was that she also had a chance to present a new attire today. And that would be pretty damn cool considering it was her first PPV match. But, unfortunately, the design agency did not have time to finish it in time.
However, the Echidna did not dwell on this. Alice's words quickly brought her out of her thoughts. The Native American woman tilted her head slightly forward and involuntarily bit her lower lip. Addressing the audience, Alice asked them if they were ready for her to kick Nerissa's ass. After these words, the Native American woman's heart began to beat faster. And although she tried not to show it, she had a wild desire to tear this brunette to pieces.
Nerissa tilted her head slightly to the side when she noticed that some of the spectators were holding signs in their hands. She even raised her left eyebrow slightly. It seems she didn't know about something. But soon everything became clear thanks to the ring announcer.
"The Grim Reaper who started her path in this very city..." Nerissa mumbled, not taking her eyes off Alice.
Despite the fact that she knew that her opponent was from England, she did not know from where exactly. It would be very symbolic if London turned out to be the brunette's hometown. But even that was enough. Alice's career started here. And Nerissa shivered at the thought. Thanks to this fact, the intensity of passions has become much greater. At least in her understanding.
Alice finally got to the ring. And while she raised her kendo stick, accepting another portion of greetings from the audience, Nerissa got the opportunity to run her eyes over her rival. Of course, not much has changed since their brawl in the bar. Nerissa was still several kilograms heavier and almost half a head taller than Alice. Although, as she managed to find out, this brunette had a hard blow.
Perhaps someone, because of Nerissa's audacious behavior, thought that she was sure of victory every time. But this assumption was far enough from the truth. Еру Echidna really never doubted herself. Doubts are the lot of those who are weak in spirit. And she really always aspired to win, despite any circumstances. But she never had pink glasses. There are no victories without defeats.
That's the reason she was here today. Having been defeated by Clara, Nerissa only rushed even more to the top. She wasn't going to stop. Fights. Pro wrestling. Hardcore. These were the things she loved with all her heart. She was doing it only because she liked it. And that's why she always pushed forward, no matter who her opponent was.
But Nerissa would be lying if she said she was only here for the match. No. Alice Gaster. Just one word was enough for Nerissa to have a desire to defeat this woman. Even at the moment when Alice called her a weakling, she knew that they were destined to meet in the ring. There would hardly be many who would attach such great importance to this. But it was important to her. Nerissa wanted to prove that Alice wrong. And she would never admit it out loud, but first of all she wanted to prove it to herself.
Therefore, when the audience finally quieted down, the Echidna, barely restraining her attitude, jumped up on her toes several times. It was necessary not only to disperse the blood through the body, but also to throw out at least a little steam accumulated inside her.
She headed to the center of the ring, while Alice asked her a question that made her smile. And letting the audience have already begun to get used to the unnaturally long and thin lips of the Native American woman, her smile still caused a shiver. Deciding to remind their bar fight, Nerissa violated Alice's personal space by pressing her chest against brunette's and colliding their foreheads.
"You seem still don't understand something," Nerissa hissed. "Tell me a thousand times that you're going to kick my ass. Ask me ten thousand times if I'm ready for war. Do you know what will change?" Nerissa tilted her head forward, putting pressure on Alice's forehead. "Nothing. Because I'm not afraid of you. So, yes, shorty, I'm ready. I'm ready to show you what real hardcore is."
It seemed that both women would pounce on each other in just a second. Therefore, the referee, having gathered all the available courage, took a step towards them and put her hands between them in an attempt to separate those women in different directions. Despite the fact that it was too tough a match even for hardcore, any match should have an official start.
The Echidna licked her lips, looking into Alice's eyes, and then took a few steps back, creating a space between them. Were her words loud? Definitely. And she was fully aware of this. It wasn't just the first PPV match for Nerissa. It also was the biggest match of her career at the moment. Today she had a chance not only to make Alice forget the word weakling in her attitude. Today she had a chance to get the right to become the first openweight champion. Therefore, Nerissa was sincere in her words. She was ready to give Alice everything she had.
Putting her right foot back a step, Nerissa turned slightly to her opponent with her left side. She clenched her left fist and slightly bent her left arm at the elbow so that her fist was at the level of the middle of her torso. At the same time, she raised her slightly bent right palm to the level of her chin. Taking up a fighting stance, she briefly nodded to the referee, making it clear that she was ready. Perhaps Alice's words really made some sense. The word war was very well suited to what was to begin immediately after the referee received confirmation of readiness from the British woman.

As Alice spoke to Nerissa for the first time in several weeks, both women looked at each other, with a gaze that spoke clearly: “The moment the bell rings, you are dead”. She had studied the tape of her and Clara’s match, as well as a few of her other bouts…though that was the problem with trying to get footage on someone who is relative fresh to wrestling. Even despite that, she knew Nerissa wasn’t someone to triffle with. The woman knew how to fight, which was clear enough from their bar brawl, as brief as it turned out.
Nerissa took Alice’s question head on…quite literally as she approached the Brit, pressing her forehead and body into the smaller woman, as Alice flashed a smirk at the Native American.
”Perfect answer…”, Alice would say as the ref got between the two women, refusing to start the match before she had made the decision to.
Alice stood ready to fight, leaving her kendo stick just slightly to the side, as her hands were raised into a grappling position, the ref nodding at the Brit before finally turning to the side, towards the bellkeeper’s table:
“OK, ring the bell!”
DING DING DING!
Alice took off like a bullet towards Nerissa. This kind of match could only ever have one start…and that was both women rushing at each other to beat the other into the ground! As Alice approached the taller lightweight, she would try and ram her forearm into the side of her head!
It was like if magma flowed through Nerissa's veins. Looking at Alice, she had never felt so motivated to win. This feeling was stronger than during her fight with Sheila. This feeling was stronger even than during her fight with Sienna. What started as a bar fight was continued in the ring. In front of thousands of spectators. Perfect.
Nerissa's lips curved into a smile as she watched the brunette put her kendo stick aside and then took a classic wrestling stance. The sounds around seemed to have subsided. At least for Nerissa. She couldn't hear anything but her heartbeat. And then...
Ding-Ding-Ding.
Under the deafening screams of the audience, who were looking forward to the start of the match, the Echidna rushed forward like a dog that had broken loose. There were so many emotions and energy inside her that it was as if she was ready to explode. She wanted to give more than one hundred percent and she saw no reason to deny herself the pleasure of starting the match so dynamically.
And, apparently, Alice had about the same attitude to it. The British woman rushed to Nerissa without any delay. And even more. It was Alice who was the one who attacked first. Swinging her right arm, she sent her forearm into the unprotected left side of the Echidna's head.
If they were still in the bar, barely standing on their feet due to the amount of alcohol in their blood, Nerissa would surely have missed this blow and staggered back. But this time it was different. This time, the Native American woman could use her body and her skills to the maximum.
That is why, like a snake, she intended to make a pendulum movement down and to the left, thereby allowing Alice's forearm to pass over her head. Taking a diagonal step to the left, Nerissa wanted to be on Alice's right side, thereby disappearing from her opponent's field of view for at least a fraction of a second. Nerissa intended to show that it wouldn't be like their last brawl.
Straightening up to her full height, she wouldn't use her fists. Now that her mind was clear, she could allow herself to show what her body was truly capable of. The Echidna was going to push off from the mat, and then swing her left leg bent at the knee. Nerissa intended to straighten this leg at the last moment in order to achieve maximum momentum and hit Alice right in the head with a jumping roundhouse kick!
Nerissa and Alice both leapt off their sides of the ring like bullets, but Alice managed to be faster in trying to go for an attack first. This wasn't a fight between two drunk women in a bar anymore. They were fighters who wanted to beat the shit out of each other.
However, Nerissa would be just a millisecond faster, dodging to the side as Alice's elbow just barely whiffed her, Alice landing on her feet as she tried to turn to face Nerissa, raising her arms to block a potential punch...
...only for Nerissa's attack to aim at the Brit's side, her leg hitting Alice square in her head for a Roundhouse kick!
"AAAAGH!", Alice cried out taking a step back as the world spun in her eyes...before dashing forward, aiming her arm wildly as she still tried to take the Echidna down with a Lariat!
Yes, it was definitely much more interesting than what happened in the bar. At least for the reason that Nerissa was much more focused. Alice's punch was fast, but it wasn't enough to catch the Echida off guard this time. This became obvious at the moment when the brunette's fist passed over the head of the Native American woman.
The moment Nerissa jumped up, her smile widened. She saw that her opponent began to raise her hands in an attempt to defend herself. This, of course, showed that the British woman had both a good reaction and sharpened instincts. But she didn't have enough time. The Echidna's foot crashed into Alice's head with a loud click.
Alice screamed in pain, and the audience let out a joyful shout, clearly enjoying the dynamic start of the match. The brunette staggered back a few steps, but Nerissa was not going to stop at just one successful kick. Therefore, as soon as she landed on her feet, she immediately took a step forward, intending to continue the offensive.
But then, as if at the snap of her fingers, Alice's gaze became concentrated again. She took a step towards the Echidna and before the Native American woman could do anything, her rival stretched out her arm to the side and crashed into Nerissa's chest. Her eyes widened in both surprise and pain. Her upper body abruptly leaned back, and the ground was knocked out from under her feet. A moment later, Nerissa collapsed onto the mat with a loud sound.
"Aagghh!!" Came out through her teeth.
For a brief moment, a mist appeared before her eyes, because first of all, the back of her head landed on the mat. It seems that the lack of alcohol in the blood had a good effect not only on her. Alice has definitely become faster, and her resistance to blows has increased. Conclusions are made. But before doing anything, the Echidna needed to get rid of dizziness.
Alice's Lariat rang true, but it was very much a desperation attack. The Roundhouse kick still rocked her, enough that getting up after the Lariat was taking much longer than she would've liked, not to mention the very loud ringing in her ears that wasn't disappearing quite yet. As a result, it was as hard for Alice to get back to her feet as it was for Nerissa...
...but as she did, the Pale Rider tried to get back to her feet with a baseball bat in her hands, as she tried to swing at the Echidna's side to try and ram it into her ribs!
It was a very small consolation, but at least Nerissa wasn't the only one who fell on the mat. Apparently, Alice was not a terminator and, despite the successful lariat, she could not keep her balance. At least it proved that she was human and that the kick in the head still had some effect on her. Better than nothing.
However, time was not on the side of the Echidna. Of course, everything would have been much worse if the brunette had stayed on her feet after the lariat, but the current situation was also not like the land of rainbows and unicorns. Shaking her head from side to side in order to drive away the dizziness, Nerissa finally came to her senses.
Out of the corner of her eye, Nerissa noticed that the British woman was getting to her feet, so she hurried to do the same. It was only when she got up on all fours that she realized that her opponent had a bat in her hands. The Echidna's eyes widened for a moment when Alice swung the bat and sent it somewhere in her rib area.
Like a frog, Nerissa kicked off the mat with her feet, thereby not only shifting her torso from Alice's line of attack, but also turning to face her opponent. She knew she only had one second before the brunette swung the bat again. Therefore, Nerissa intended to push off from the mat once again and quickly reduce the distance between her and Alice thanks to the low start position.
"Let's see what you're capable of!" Thought the Native American woman.
She intended to throw both hands forward, but not to directly attack Alice. Instead, the Echidna wanted to grab the bat at two opposite ends. And although she was absolutely not against snatching this weapon out of Alice's hands, she decided to do something else. And if she managed to grab the bat, the first thing Nerissa would do would be to use the strength of her arms to push the bat forward, thereby causing it to crash into her opponent's face.
