Dusting Off: Angela Belti vs. Alaina Sanders-Haines

The move would be bad for Alaina more than anything, but it wasn’t pleasant for Angela either, as the exertionput a heavy toll on her aching back. It was a heavy reminder that neither of their bodies were designed for these sort of long, drawn out matches anymore, and that it would be better for both of them if a bow was put on things, and soon. La Donna Perfetta had every intention of being the one with the honours.

After a deep breath, she pushed up to her feet and went into a run, storming across the ring. She bounced off the ropes, came running back to her opponent, leaped in the air and came falling down on Alaina’s fallen form, looking to nail her with a leg drop.

Alaina was down on her back and she heard the footsteps coming far too late to move. The big leg drop crashing down painfully on her ensured she would be staying down on the mat! Her legs kicked up and flopped down from the impact and the amazon let out a low gagging moan of pain as she reached up to rub her throat as well as her chest after being smashed by the powerful running leg drop!

The leg drop. A classic, always. You simply couldn't get more pro wrestling than this.

Angela’s leg crashed into her opponent’s chest, drilling her into the mat and making no small sound with the impact. She had to be careful when executing this, her hip no longer being able to take the impacts it once did, but for now everything seemed to be in working order. She could finish this.

Angela doubted that would be enough to finish her foe, but since she was already in this position, she might as well go for it. She swung her legs over her opponent’s chest, pulled her knee up, and went for a pinfall, bringing the referee over to start it up.

Alaina knew how effective leg drops could be, lord knows she did enough of them in her career. "Crashing power thighs can be someone's demise" she used to say sometimes.

However that would not be the case with the amazon who let out a shout as she bucked her hips while thrusting her shoulder up right at two again! "No way!"

And another kickout!

This wasn’t all that surprising, but still, it was a good sign of Angela’s momentum. Things were on her path now, and she only had to keep that up a little longer to score the win. Alaina was close now, she could feel it, and she knew just what she had to do to push her over the edge. ”I didn’t think that would work.” Angela grabbed Alaina’s head and started to stand up. ”But this? This will.”

Angela stood to her feet, shoved her opponent’s head between her legs, then reached over and tried to hoist her up, flipping her about as she rose to put her on the shoulders for the telltale powerbomb position. It was a little risky, but this was the first stage to her finisher, and she was certain that would be enough to seal this.

Alaina was hurting but she still was aware of her surroundings. A finisher of hers being the amabomb meant she was very well familiar with powerbomb variants....

....as well as countering them. Alaina was lift up and clamped her legs around Angela's head before leaning back looking to flip the big grappler down hard with a hurricanrana!

Desdemona looked on from ringside, gripping the apron tight as she watched her mother getting ready to end this. She’d seen enough of her mother’s matches - under duress - to know what she was going for: The Last Dance. It would be a match ender, she was sure of it, and even she knew how big of a deal it would be to get the win on someone of Alaina’s stature.

But it wasn’t happening, not here and now. Alaina’s experience shown through again, as she threw herself back and sent Angela - all 200 plus pounds of her - flipping through the air with her hurricanrana, tossing her skyward for a trip that ended up with her crashing down hard on her back. La Donna Perfetta’s back arched on impact, and hissed through her teeth as she tried to push her way up, fighting past the pain.

"Nice try, I bet your powerbomb is almost as bad as an amabomb.... almost." Alaina said as she tried to pounce. Alaina was going for Angela's legs hoping to wrap them up and fold Angela over.

They were in the middle of the ring and in a perfect spot for Alaina to lock in her high angle sharpshooter the jungleshooter!

Taking that hurricanrana would’ve been a bit of bad business in any case, but after such a frenetic, hectic match, Angela wasn’t able to get her stuff together well enough to make a fast recovery. Everything was helter skelter, rolling about in a kaleidoscope, and it made her all too easy prey for what came next.

Angela recognized the setup for a sharpshooer being put on her legs, but by the time she registered what was going on, it was far too late to stop it. She was brought over, her legs twisted in knots, and from there all she could do was squirm and struggle flopping about on the mat like a flailing fish.

”Come on, Mom!” Dizzy slapped the apron, trying to rally behind her. ”You can do this!”

Angela appreciated the vote of confidence, truly, but it was far easier said than done. It felt like her spine was being ripped down the middle, and the ropes were so far away…

Alaina bent and wrenched further adding her power to the often overlooked technical prowess she sometimes exhibited especially when it came to the jungleshooter.

Alaina was giving it her all and kept it up. "Come in Angela tap out, it's not worth the agony!" Alaina shouted urging the bigger woman to submit. Alaina knew that this was it... or should be it... lest Angela risk injury. She already proved how strong she was, those muscles weren't just for show. She proved how tough she was taking hit after hit from Alaina who put all she had into all her offense. The amazon was wrenching down still hoping that this was it.
