Dusting Off: Angela Belti vs. Alaina Sanders-Haines

It would be no understatement to say that Alaina had knocked Angela for a loop from minute one, but it would be a vast overstatement to say that was enough to keep her down for any real length of time. All that size and muscle wasn’t for show, and she was eager to show the Amazon just what she could do with it.

She wouldn’t have to wait long, either. She’d only been down a few seconds before Alaina moved in, pressing her advantage with a tight hold, looking to wear her down. A good try. It wouldn’t work, but a good try.

Angela pushed her way up, forcing her way up to one one foot, then the other, rising up. She pushed away to make some space, then rammed her elbow in Alaina’s stomach, twice, in rapid succession, trying to knock her off and release the grip.

Alaina felt Angela powering up and it was rare that Alaina felt like a woman was able to overpower her. The amazon felt confident saying any lady on the roster 200lbs or lighter was able to be overpowered by the older amazon... but Angela was a bigger, stronger woman than Alaina. Alaina was finding this out as Angela was rising up, hammering her abdomen twice in rapid succession as she stumbled back a couple steps, letting go of Angela. "Ngh...damn..." Alaina groaned. She tried to fight through the pain of the sharp elbow strikes and dropkick Angela as soon as she turned around, hoping that she was able to connect otherwise she would be in a compromised position!

Angela was far from fast, but she did have experience. This would be one of the rare times where her opponent had more of it than she did, but she still had a more than fair amount to work with, and it would serve her well in this match, especially with someone who was an orthdox, but effective, opponent.

For instance, it was that experience which allowed her to look at Alaina, see the way her knees were bending, and know that a dropkick was about to come her way. As such, she knew what to do: The moment her foes feet left the ground, she was already stepping to the side, giving her opponent nothing to hit, ensuring that she would just be falling flat on her back.

It would create a good opening, but it wouldn’t mean much if Angela didn’t have anything to follow it with. Fortunately, she did.

When Alaina fell back down from the missed attack, Angela leaped up, raised her arm, and tried to come down on her midsection with an Elbow Drop, hoping to nail her before she had the chance to get out of the way.

Alaina jumped up and kicked.... missing her mark! To make matters worse she hit the ground and had a hard heavy elbow drop hammer her right after she landed! "Oomph!"

Alaina pressed up up Angela trying to shive her away as she attempted to sit up and rise to her feet. She did not want Angela to build momentum, bit that is precisely what was happening at the moment!

Most of the wrestlers Angela hit with her elbow drop just laid there and wallowed after she connected with, dealing with the pain, suffering through it, making themselves easy prey for whatever came next. Here, though, Alaina’s ring awareness showed through - her first move was to make space between them, forcing La Donna Perfetta to come after her if she wanted to make the most of things.

Angela, of course, wasn’t about to give her any slack. She was up on her feet soon after, and moved in on her opponent as she tried to rise up, reaching over to grab her by the wrist. ”Watch her feet, Dizzy!”

She jerked back, pulled Alaina towards her, twisted about and attempted to send her off running hard to the corner, hurling her forward with a solid Irish Whip.

Alaina was grabbed and sent running before she could adjust slamming back first into the corner! She groaned in pain slumped in the corner as she grabbed the top rope with her hands. Alaina shook her head and stomped the mat once in pain as she stayed slumped against the turnbuckle.

If Angela came running on though Alaina would swing her leg up and try to smash her opponent in the jaw with a big boot! She was okay possum to some extent and hoped Angela came running in. If not she would still swing her leg up for the hard kick to the face.

Desdemona did as her mother asked and watched Alaina run across the ring, though she wasn’t all that sure what she was supposed to gleam from it. It was just running. Good running, she figured, but there didn’t seem to be some trick to it. She knew her mother had a high opinion of this woman, and sure, she was in great shape for her age, but so far, she couldn't see what all the hype was about.

Angela, on the other hand, was taking the Amazon quite seriously, and wasn’t apt to give her any breathing room, knowing how much she could do with it. She had only just sent her opponent off running when she came dashing after her, making a beeline for the corner with her arms wide, hoping to follow up with a splash against the turnbuckle. A good, if basic move, that could only be interrupted by something like, say, a boot to the face.

And that was exactly what Angela got. Alaina’s foot caught her clean on the chin and spun her all the way around, leaving her to stumble away while she rubbed her chin. It wasn’t enough to knock her down, but it did like her legs wobbling and brain fuzzy, neither of which she could afford right now.

Alaina knew that as a bigger power wrestler having a small woman really hammer her didn't just hurt dealing damage... there was some shock value and psychological damage done too. Alaina ran out of the corner and moves as quickly as she could at the woman hobbling on limp legs. Alaina wanted to use force, speed and a low center of gravity to plow into Angela to spear her down to the mat following up quickly with well placed, fast, impactful mounted punches to the head! Such a show of force would hopefully connect leaving Angela wondering what hit her. Alaina knew that things may not go to plan but if they did it would make a hell of a statement.

Angela was wobbly, leaning from side to side, but she was able to get her feet back under her after a moment of respite. Her jaw still ached, and probably would be for the foreseeable future, but that wasn’t the worst thing - if anything, it was a reminder for her to slow down and not be so eager to go rushing in against her opponent. With most of her foes, her force alone would be enough to stun them long enough for a follow up. Alaina might’ve been the shorter women by a large margin, but in terms of power, the gap was far smaller.

Speed was a factor, too, which would come up when she turned around and was plowed straight through by a gutwrenching spear. She could even hear Desdemona yelp from the sidelines, and with good reason - it hurt every bit as much as it looked.

As did the punches that came raining down moments later, hammering her clean in the face, pummeling her in rapid succession. Angela wound up taking three good shots to the face before she planted her feet on the mat, bridged hard, and sent her opponent rolling off to the side so she could make an attempt to get back up.

Alaina rolled off and got in position to rise to her feet knowing that Angela would be back up soon as well. The amazon still sent the message to the bigger powerhouse though. Just because she was smaller didn't mean she could be pushed around. Alaina reached out to grab hold of Angela around the shoulder and between the legs. Sure things were simple but often simple could be effective.... and Alaina was all about being effective in between the ropes.

Alaina howled as she tried to scoop Angela up, hold her in the air while spinning around before slamming her down hard to the mat! Alaina would wink to the crowd and flex a bicep afterward as she showed off to fire the fans up!
