Coming Up: The Loserweight Open Challenge

Been planning this one for a little while, now, and I think the time is good for Loser’s Champion Holly Matheson to start issuing the Loserweight Open Challenge! The idea is outlined in detail here, but just to lay it out again: as the Loser’s Champion, Holly is all too aware that the general consensus among management, the roster and the fans is that pretty much anyone can beat her in the ring. Like, literally anyone. So, to test that theory, the British Bombshell will be issuing open challenges to the arena, inviting anyone to come up and try to beat her down—up to and including fans! Legal waivers will have to be signed, of course, but following that anyone will have a chance to put up or shut up against the reigning loser of LAW.

Being who she is, of course, Holly will be losing these matches, but the fun is in seeing what kind of craziness happens along the way. Definitely looking to emphasize craziness over solid technical wrestling, here, so I am totally open to some weird suggestions and goofy comedy for this, or just semi-unexpected one-sided domination. I’m looking for just about any kind of character here: the challenge is open to women, men, or whatever! If you feel like bringing in a one-off wrestler who just happens to be in the crowd, that’s cool! A breathless fanboy/fangirl, and athlete looking to humiliate a ‘rassler, a creepy fanboy/fangirl, I’m very open to suggestion. The format will be that Holly comes out, announces a challenge, and an audience member gets to come up to the ring. They can then sign legal waivers, get a chance to introduce themselves to the crowd, and the match is on. For continuity’s sake, these challenges will be taking place between We Are LAW Matches for 2020 and 2021 and will continue as long as there is interest, until Holly finally drops her belt (ongoing threads will still get wrapped up, of course).
